He called home for this specific exchange, for the first time since his first day at the boot camp and was very excited about that. He could have his parents, actually not home, his brothers and grandma, Moma.
He didn't miss the opportunity to tease Nill, his older brother, concerning his strength up leveling.
Aaron had a long discussion with his grandmother who sounded very gentle and keen in her words.
He told them all about the level of difficulty he faced through his training and the self-transcendance that required.
He finally told his grandma about the girl he met on the boot camp, and they could exchange just as per usual, like best of friends.
Revelations to be done sooner or later, but indeed, to be done. The angst felt by Aaron was palpable. He held his fingers tight like they were his last resort.
But his grandmother's voice sealed his gates of fear, and was quite a straight up game-changer. The gentle woman he knew her to be
Aaron: Moma, I have something to tell you
[Pause]
I think I've met someone really special
Moma: Oh! My boy, I guess that's a peak of joy. Who's this lucky girl?
Aaron: Her name's Emma and she's incredible. She makes me feel like I finally belong, you know?
Everything just clicks with her
Moma: I can hear it in your voice, darling. When someone feels like home, you honor her with her crown.
Aaron: I want to make her happy, I feel like she's everything I've been looking for.
Moma: Love's not just petals, boy– it's roots. Beyond a mere feeling. Loyalty through thick and thin. I hope you’re going to take good care of yourself through all that. Never forget this, you got to be your first love.
Aaron: I will Grandma, I promise. For you, for her, for us.
Moma: Good, I'm glad you said that. Keep that in mind and love like that doesn't come around often and you have to be tough though 'cause I guess love ain't no easy field on your battlefield. Much strength to you, boy.
Aaron exchanged with his family, without forgetting his actual best friend Loki, to whom he expressed a whole lot of gratitude. But swallowed back his words concerning his new found girl.
They laughed off the challenges he faced as a starter in the field and Loki could shed some words concerning the progress he'd done yet on his end.
It was under a warm summer sky on the lawn where our two lovers usually quenched their thirst for each other.
Aaroon:[Kicks to the dirt on the lawn] Yeah. They are sending me to a place where the sun barely rises. I don't know when I'll get a chance to write, or if I'll be able to reach out.
Emma:[nods] Yeah, I've been thinking about it too. You're headed out to the east, right?
Aaron:[Chuckles, though there's a hint of sadness]
I guess we are both running off to the ends of the earth. And to think they have no idea what they are taking away from me. If I have to tell you the truth I would say I'm not used to this kind of feeling. I just hope I'll be able to manage it.
Emma: I often heard a popular saying as to time doesn't build love but the connection does indeed. I think I get what that means now. I don't want to lose you. [Takes his hand tight in hers]
Aaron: [grabs her hand, caressing it with his other hand as well]
Day in day out, you'll be more of a reason for me to survive. For you I'll keep myself strong, for sure.
(Emma's hands hardened by the riffle grip-strength exercises on the training ground, but the warmth that emerged was for him a soft whisper of leaves on the backbones of nature)
Emma: [Bites her lips, trying to keep it together] my love would definitely be my compass. I want to be there for you. I bet this is nothing more than a temporary challenge.
Aaron: I'll never forget you, every step, every mission.
Emma: We both have to, so we can pick up right where we left off.
Aaron: [giving her a tight and comforting hug] Just be safe, okay? I sure have no will to do this without you.
Emma: [pulls back slightly, looking into Aaron's eyes] You won't have to. I'll be right here by your side, even when we're apart. Always, remember
