Chapter 4 (II)

899 Words
Aaron's thoughts were pulled back dramatically to his fleeting love experience in high school which actually cost him a great deal of faith in the concept of love. But as for now, he felt something new with the depths of his soul and could just surrender to it, despite his unresolved fears. As the days passed, the recruits contemplated the end of their training course and Aaron spent a big deal of his time by Emma's side. They were well aware of the fact that they might have to move away from each other and that was quite a heavy blow for the new lovers. It was quite a big deal to conceive, the fact that they were not sure of the opportunity to talk to each other. Face to face, closer than they could think of. The choice of their military backgrounds still to be made valid. While at the boot camp, Aaron and Emma stood by each other's side, outside in the camp field Aaron:[Leaning against a fence, looking at the horizon] You know, I never thought I'd ever feel this way at a training session, like never. Emma: [Seated on the lawn, sifting sand through her fingers, soft smile] I know what you mean, it's crazy how things can change. One moment we are just two people training, and now — this. Aaron:[ glances at Emma] I've been trying not to think about this but we both know what's coming. Emma:[nods] Yeah, I've been thinking about it too. But at least, time's still knocking our door for the actual military phase before our deployments Aaron: Yeah. At least we're set for the same space for our next training sessions. I keep my fingers crossed Emma: I guess we'll be sent to the same war grounds, just want to keep that laid in mind. Expecting that to turn in our favor. Aaron: [steps behind Emma, with his hands grazing her neck] We better keep our blindfolds on. Let's just be here now– no tomorrows. 'cause for now I can afford to get lost in time… by your side. Emma: great idea, for now we'd just need to frame our minds for the unreached heavens. Despite the hanging clouds! Aaron: I'd rather nibble away at every little moment as if it were my last right now. Even if that means I must lie to my little self Emma: [flinches] I'd rather love to take it for the truth. Perhaps early to say so, but just better walking through the walls of times The days went by for the recruits soldiers, the test of time was beaten. Suffocated by simulated chemical attacks, rough rush from sergeants and colonels inflicted through their skin among one and a thousand challenges. The deal was done and the graduation was set for the recruits They looked like soldiers, acted like soldiers, they carried their heads high whilst on their parade on the front line, ready for war! Friends and family gathered to watch their soldiers on the boot camp field under the beaming sun shining against their wandering smiles and cheers. A smooth display of discipline shone on the vast lawn to the greatest admiration of the guests. Their oath of enlistment reaffirmed effectively under each of their burning desire for their next step as soldiers. "I, Aaron Standall, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance…” A mere recall to the unveiled obligations. Graduates broke ranks to reunite with loved ones. Photo opportunities with their families at hand. But as the time got closer to get to their families, echoes of silence quivering through Aaron's flesh for the hint of fear rumbling through his mind. Swallowing back the confessions of his new girl. A taste of rush at the tip of his lips with the idea of his relationship fleeting in a split second as he got used to, in his past experiences. A canvas over his mind, crafted in drought and doubt. His last relationship where he felt ditched through the ocean deeps. His rainbow glowing curve in the air, vanishing straight in his eyes. But now he held Emma by his side. Safe glee for his soldier bleed fee. A Bee sting he couldn't flee but seek. Aaron faced his family at the graduation floor. He smothered a hug– warm, sweet and tight, with his dearest friend, murmurs looping in their minds "How i wish you were there, calling soon" aaron said They didn't have much time to greet their loved ones or say goodbye. But a glance through his elder brother's eyes– Nill Standall, was just enough to remind him of the past weight to his chest. A break in the wind of time, in remembrance of his old body aches. More of a fuel to his well held grit. They got after a while on the bus so as to begin their service in the army based in Glasgow Hands folded together, fingers held tight as Aaron and his girlfriend held a long due gaze in a closed corner. A feeling way more than words could express. Soothing Sensations gripping through their skins. All before parting their gripping hand all the way to the bus. A new phase of adventure was definitely set.
