"Take off the dress," his voice was low, commanding and dangerous. My heart thudded in my chest. "Sir Diego...?"His eyes bore into mine hungrily, raw and deadly." The moment I slept with you in that club, your body became mine."You can’t do this," I whispered, trembling. "I’m..""Ellie’s little sister?" He stood slowly, each step deliberate, predatory. "She never told me you were this... breathtaking."His fingers brushed my jaw, rough yet delicate. "The moment i had you under my skin, I stopped caring if you were my wife's sister.I should’ve run. I should’ve screamed. But all I could do… was breathe his name."Diego..."After her father’s empire crumbled and her mother fell gravely ill, Lyla Reynolds was forced into a life she never imagined, working at an exclusive club to survive. Emily huddled on the couch, trying to process the dreadful information passed by Maddena. She felt her soul break at every tick of the clock. "This can't be real! My daughter can't be caught up in this mess. How come?" Emily questioned, her hands trembling as she scrunched the fabric of her dress for support, her eyes moving worriedly like a clock. Maddena sighed, staring at Emily pitifully. "We have no one to blame, Emily. It's her fate. She's more like a living curse, and it has already been decided that she will die." Her words immediately sliced through Emily like a fang as she stood up hastily, tears welling up in her eyes. "What do you mean by she will die? Please stop saying that! I beg of you!" Emily yelled, her voice choked with hurt. She watched Evelyn grow like her daughter; the thought of Evelyn dying blazed through her heart like a wildfire. Maddena stared blankly at Emily's state and parted her lips. "Emily, you shouldn't weep; at least she isn't dead yet." Maddena rolled her eyes dramatically, her lips curving up. Emily paused as she sniffed, wiping her hands against her cheeks. She glared at Maddena angrily and scoffed bitterly, "You won't understand the pain of being a mother, so I don't need to explain anything to you." "You are nothing but a useless werewolf," Maddena cursed under her breath, icy. The air was swept with silence as tears flowed repeatedly down Emily's cheeks. She couldn't believe her daughter had caught herself in the nefarious web. Emily bit her tongue for what she was about to do. Yes! Her daughter was more important than anything in this state. Emily fell to her knees weakly, sobbing uncontrollably as she gripped the fabric of Maddena's cloak. "I know that I'm not supposed to do this, but I don't care anymore. Please, I want you to save my child. Please." Maddena glared at the woman sobbing uncontrollably on her knees, gripping her fabric tightly, and couldn't help but sigh. Evelyn would create a great dilemma; she can't risk not killing her. She parted her lips slowly. "Even if I want to help you, Emily, I can't. You know Evelyn is like a deadly virus, and if she isn't killed or treated, she will kill everyone, including the innocent. That's the same case for Evelyn now," Maddena said flatly, her expression blank. In slow motion, Emily raised her head, meeting Maddena's blank gaze. "What if she were your child? Would you have allowed her to be killed?" Maddena clutched her nails at her side, feeling a nauseous pain hit her stomach; she didn't want to bring back the old memories. "She's not my child... and I don't have one, so stop," Maddena snapped angrily, shielding an emotion that didn't want to linger. Emily seemed puzzled by Maddena's reactions. "What are you hiding?" Emily suddenly asked, curiosity clinging to her eyes. "Nothing. That shouldn't be your business. Your business should be you providing your daughter's features immediately." "I won't. If you want to look for her, find her yourself," Emily sputtered. Maddena's eyebrows knit together in exasperation, gritting her teeth. "Emily, why are you so stubborn? She isn't your child, so you shouldn't let it affect you." "It doesn't have to be you giving birth to a child before he or she becomes yours; it's by the love you share. So you won't understand since your heart is as dark as your cloak," Emily replied, her voice choked and hoarse. Maddena stared at Emily, her expression blank, perplexed about what to say. "Fine, I will find her myself, and just know that if I find her, I will kill her because she will eventually kill you." Emily froze at Maddena's utterance, "What do you mean by 'she will kill me?'" "Evelyn isn't as innocent as you think. The reason why she's still looking timid is that she hasn't awakened her evil forces yet." "Evil forces? What do you mean? Can you be straightforward?" Emily yelled, feeling her organs trembling. "Evelyn is a powerful witch, Emily. Not just a witch, but a demonically possessed one. She's more dangerous than you think," Maddena muttered coldly. Emily felt a surge of confusion break through her like a broken dam as she felt her head flooding with pain. This is enough! She isn't understanding anything anymore! Evelyn? A demon? "How did you know all of this?" Emily snapped. "Don't ask me questions, Emily. Just do as you are told. I need to find her before the lycan king finds her." "Just hear yourself out! You want me to tell you about Evelyn, and you are not telling me anything? How is that possible? It's better you start spilling the beans that are buried beneath your stomach before I say anything," Emily replied calmly. Emily knew Maddena was hiding something deep, something dangerous, but what? There was something that wasn't right about the whole situation, and everything seemed weird. How come this witch knew everything about Evelyn, like she was living within Evelyn's soul? Strange; something is different here. Maddena responded with silence, her eyes suddenly moving around my sitting room. Emily furrowed her eyebrows slightly. "What is this witch looking for?" she thought. Immediately, her eyes widened-Evelyn's photo. Evelyn and her family's photo was shoved on a little table behind Maddena, and Emily's eyes widened as her heart began beating rapidly. Maddena shouldn't see it. In a fast motion, before the clock could tick, Evelyn stomped towards the table and grabbed the picture, shoving it inside her shirt. Maddena's eyes widened as an evil grin curved up on her lips; this was exactly what she was looking for. It's a good thing Emily foolishly brought it out. "Give me the picture," Maddena commanded, searching her hands forth. Emily shook her head. "No, I'm not, unless you give me a better reason why I should, because you are not being straightforward right now," Emily snapped curtly. "Emily, don't push me. Give me the photo." "No, I'm not. Why should I?" "Because Evelyn is my child, and I sent Morgana to kill her, but unknowingly, Morgana ran away with her. She's evil," Maddena yelled.
