The car came to a rest and the airbag blew across my face. My eyes went hazy and I could not keep my head up. I felt blood dripping across my face and just then, it occurred to me that I could not be seen with Emily. She stayed right next to me, unconscious. I managed to get out of the car before people came to the rescue.
I held my arm across my chest and slowly went through the woods. Barely a few feet into the woods, I heard voices behind me. I halted, tilting to have a look at what was going on behind me. People gathered around the car and tried to get her out of it. My heart skipped a beat, not because I was angry but because I was angry.
