Lucas A ghost of a smile was on my lips all the way to the company. I caught my reflection in the glass window of the car as I waited at a red light. I tried to press it down. My fingers tightened around the magazine I was holding. Nothing can happen between us, I reminded myself for the hundredth time. I was still a married man and bringing Emily into that chaos would be unforgivably selfish. The smile finally faded as my driver pulled into my designated spot in the underground garage of the company.
