24 My schedule was a bear the next two days. My booking was similar to the old days before everything came apart, where every hour was filled and I saw patients back to back. To make up for my Mexican trip, I even cut my lunch hour in half the first day. I went without lunch the next day due to an emergency, grabbing bites from a sandwich between patients. I needed to console and medicate a young distraught woman. I had forgotten how stressful, demanding, and exhausting a full therapy schedule could be. Was it because I was getting older? But I had gotten used to a comparable schedule just a few years ago. I knew burnout was a potential danger and resolved to consider modifying my schedule. It wasn’t until the next day that I was able to meet Valerie for lunch. Our anticipated rendezvous
