29 I called Hanna to check on her. A man answered the phone. Hanna explained that it was Paul, who had followed her to take her car to the body shop. I recalled that he was the man for whom she had planned to make the pork roast, and that it was his jacket I saw hanging in the closet. She brought me up to date on the car business and assured me she was feeling much better than the last time I saw her. With my concern about her well-being satisfied, I chose to end the conversation and let her get back to her company. I was overcome with sadness, believing I was being replaced.
