Recap:
"Me. That's my my number on your phone, Luke." Sam and I whip our heads around to see who the new voice is.
"Jen?" Both Luke and I say at the same time.
"Whoa whoa whoa, did you guys, have, a, thing?" I say looking at both of them.
"Yes."
"No."

"One of you is lying. I know that for sure." I say looking between both Luke and Jen.
There's a silence before I decide to speak up again, "this would be the time when one of you admits that you were lying." I say shifting my weight to my right foot and crossing my arms.
"I was lying." Luke sighs.
"Why would you lie about that?" I say.
"Cause we never liked to talk about past relationships, and I just thought, that you might get up set." He says looking at his feet. He does that when he thinks he's disappointed me or something.
"Well you can talk about whatever you want now, and you can change that contact name from mine to Jen's. Sam, let's go." I say getting in the drivers seat and drive to the parking lot to get a better look at my bumper.
"What was that all about?" Sam says as I put the car in park, and unbuckle. "Don't worry about it." I say getting out.
I walk to the back end of the car and kneel down to see the damage. Its not that bad, just a few dents, but it will still cost a fortune to fix.
"What happened down there was pretty intense." I hear a voice behind me and I jump. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you." He says.
I turn to see that it's the man that Sam was talking to when we first got here. "Yeah well he dented my car. What was I supposed to do, tell him it's okay and get him ice cream?" I say standing up, furrowing my eye brows.
"Well him rear ending you was pretty intense too, but I was talking about your driving." He says studying my face.
"Yeah well I've got some experience." I say running my hand through my hair and taking a deep breath.
"We would love to have yo-"
"Listen I didn't know this was a crew race event. I was tricked into coming here and racing, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't try to convince me to join. I just raced my ex boyfriend and fellow crew member. I don't want to get into this again." I say before turning around and opening my door.
"Wait, I will fix your car for less than anyone else will if you join." The man says.
I take a deep breath to calm myself down, "what part of 'don't try to convince me to join you' don't you understand, man?" I say standing outside my open car door.
"I just thought-"
"Well you thought wrong." I say turning around to find Luke standing there.
How long had he been standing there? Did he hear our whole conversation?
"You aren't with them?" He says quietly.
"No Luke, I'm not, I tried to tell you but you wouldn't let me explain. Now move so I can go see how much this is going to cost to fix." I say.
"I can discount you." This guy is still here?
"No. I'm good. I can cover it." I say sternly and get into my car and drive away from the two guys standing outside of my car.
"I'm sorry Lizzy, I-"
"It's fine just don't tell anyone how my bumper got damaged, okay?" I say gripping the steering wheel.
"Okay." Sam says quietly.
For the rest of the drive back to town, we didn't talk, just listened to whatever was on the radio.

"Alice I'm home. " I say as I walk in the door and toss my keys in to the bowel on the side table right beside our door, while Sam follows me into the living room to look for Alice. "Alice?"
"Alice went home early her daughter had a doctor's appointment." Dad says putting the news paper he was reading down on the table.
"Daddy!" I almost scream and run up to give him a hug.
"Hey there, goofball." He says smiling and hugging me back. "So your mother and I are going to be home for dinner at eight, we'd like for you to join us."
"Yeah, definitely." I say smiling.
Hello? You have a party to get ready for.
The voice in my head reminds me about the party that Chase is picking me up at seven-thirty for.
"Oh shoot, dad, Jen, Chase, Mason, and I were going to go to a party at seven-thirty." I slouch my shoulders.
"Hey, squirt, don't worry about it, you didn't know that we were going to be home, go have fun with your new friends." He says, right after he's done talking Sam clears his throat.
I totally forgot he was here.
"Oh! Dad this is Sam, from next door." I say shaking my head and introducing Sam.
"Well hello, Sam from next door." Dad laughs.
"Hey, Mr. Anderson, it's nice to meet you." Sam walks up and shakes dad's hand. My dad nods in return.
I had no idea Sam, of all people could be almost a gentleman. Almost.
"Are you going with Lizzy, and her friends to the party?" Dad asks crossing his arms, "I'd like to know that someone I know will be there to watch over my little girl."
"Ugh, yes, dad he's coming." I say grabbing Sam's hand and pull him up the stairs to my room.
"So, I guess I'm going to a party?" Sam says when we get into my room, laughing.
"Yeah I guess, but I'm not your ride, and neither is my ride. You drive yourself." I say going to my closet to look for something to wear.
Finally after about fifteen minutes of throwing clothes around and Sam complaining I decide on my purple halter top, my black mini skirt, and to match I chose my black ankle wedges and my black sparkle belt to top off the outfit. Next I curl the ends of my hair, and do my make up naturally.
I walk out of my bathroom into my bedroom where Sam is waiting.
"Daammnn Lizzy, I didn't know you had that much leg to show off." He winks at me. I roll my eyes and walk down stairs to say bye to my dad. As if on que the door bell rings. I check my phone to see the time; 7:30. Well at least he's not late.
I open door, revealing a better-than-normal-dressed Chase. He's wearing a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and jeans.
"Well you look nice." I raise my right eyebrow, looking him over one last time.
"And you look hot," he says looking me up and down too, "ready?" He says snapping out of it.
"Uh, yeah but Sam's going to be following us there. My dad wants him to come to keep an eye on me." I shrug and grab my phone,"Sam I'm leaving, bye dad!" I yell from the door way.
As Chase and I are walking out to his car Sam jogs over to his car and gets ready to follow us. "I can not believe you have a brand new Shelby mustang gt 500, this is crazy, can you pop the hood?" I ask looking the car over.
"You know I would, but I gotta get back to the party that I'm hosting, but you can drive it if you want." He says coming up next to me.
"Are you serious?!"
"Yeah, here." He says tossing me the keys, "I'll just tell you where to go." He walks over to the passenger side.
I get in and adjust the seat and mirrors. "I can not believe you're letting me drive this!" I say with a big smile on my face.
He laughs, "you want to take the long way? There's a long strip of road and cops are never there." He says grabbing his seat belt and buckling himself into the seat.
I give him a look, "I thought you said you had to get back to the party."
He shrugs, "I can always say we got stuck in traffic." He looks at me, he has a hint of mystery in his eyes along with fearlessness .
A huge smile spreads across my face. I can not wait to see how fast I can get this thing to go.
"Okay, when you get to the light, you're going to want to go right." He gives me directions until we're at the long road.
"Oh. My. God. Eeekkk." I squeak in excitement.
Sam pulls up next to us. He rolls down his passenger window and roll down mine. "Where the hell are we, I thought we were going to a party."
Chase leans over and puts his hand on my thigh, "we are I just wanted to give Lizzy the chance to show me what she's got while going a hundred miles per hour.
He's touching my leg. He's touching my leg. Oh my gosh. There's no way that he knows that's one of my many weak spots. s**t.
I want him to take his hand away, but at the same I don't want it to leave.
"Lizzy?" I hear Chase's voice.
I snap out of my thoughts. "Yeah?"
"Did you hear me? I said follow this road all the way down, it's going to be straight for about eight miles and then it goes into the mountains right there," he says pointing to the mountains in front of us. "The road gets really windy, be careful, but at the same time show me what you got. Sam back there says you're a good driver." I look in the back seat to see Sam buckling up.
How did he get back there?
I nod my head. "Okay."
"Okay go when ever you want." He says.
As soon as I see him buckled I take off. I'm flooring it, and I'm already at 85 mph. By the time I get close to the end of the straight-away, I'm at 115 mph.
"Okay you're going to want to slow down for this turn, it's sharp." Chase says.
"You wanted to see me drive, now let me drive." I say switching gears.
I'm not going to lie, my driving is a little off right now. Only because I'm wearing heels and a skirt, but that doesn't stop me from giving my best.
"Oh my god, Lizzy slow the hell down! You're going to get us all killed!" Sam yells from the back seat while hanging on to the head rest of Chase's seat.
"Sam, if you don't shut up I'm going to pull over and kick you out, then you'd have to walk home." I smirk at him through the review mirror. You'd think he already learned his lesson because last time he didn't say a word again. Not this time.
"I'd much rather walk home than stay in this car another minute with you! Why can't we just go to the party already?!" He keeps screaming.
"Dude! Shut the f**k up! Okay, Liz-"
"Lizzy, my name is Lizzy." I correct him while going around another sharp bend in the road.
"Lizzy," he corrects, "you're taking these corners at like eighty miles per hour, I think we need to go back now." Chase says while hanging on to the handle built into the roof next to the door.
I sigh, "Okay fine. Plus I didn't wear four-inch heels just for driving." I say pulling the car over and turning around.
°°°
We finally arrive at Chase's house, after we got back to Sam's car and had him follow us.
We walk in the door, it's dark with strobe lights flashing from the living room, which I'm pretty sure is the dancing area, and the music is so loud that the floors shaking from the base of the music.
"You want a drink?" Chase says in my ear so I can hear him.
I turn to him and say in his ear, "is that even a question?" I pull back and smirk.
"How about a rum and coke?"
"How about I go in there with you and we take shots?" I raise my eyebrows.
He laughs, "You are not like the other girls I bring to parties. Let's go." He grabs my hand and leads me to the kitchen where all the drinks are kept.
After we both had more shots than I would like to say, the song Yeah by Usher comes on. I can hear it from the living room.
I gasp, "Chase! This is my song, come on, let's go dance." I say grabbing his arm.
"Lizzy, I don't dance," he says staying planted where he was standing.
"Please!! Pleeeeaaaaasssseee." I beg while giving him my best puppy eyes.
"Ugh fine but just one song." He says caving.
I grab his hand and lead him to where everyone else is dancing, giggling at my accomplishment.
When we get to the dance floor and he rests his hands on my hips as I sway them to the beat of the song.
As the song came to its second course Chase quickly grabs my hips and whips me around to where I'm now facing him. I'm surprised at first but then I smile and start dancing again. He rests his hands on my hips again and once again, I move to the beat of the song. As the beat slightly slows down for the bridge my hips slow their movement down and I put my hands above my head right as the song ends.
"Okay let's go find Mason now." He says laughing.
"Nooo, one more song, please?" I whine. Dang, why the hell am I whining? I never whine when I drink. "You know what never mind, lets go take some more shots, and get wasted." I say grabbing his hand and leading him to the kitchen again.
After we lost count of how many shots we took Mason and Jen finally show up, with Sam behind them with another dark haired guy I don't recognize.
"JEN, MASON! You're finally here!" I yell while running up to Jen and giving her a big hug.
"Liz, I can't breathe." She chokes out.
I gasp, "oh, I'm sorry." I smile at her.
"Are you drunk?" Mason asks. I turn to face him.
"Why yes I am." I say, walking up to him and putting my arm around his neck and smirk at him. "Aren't you going to have a drink?" I whisper in his ear.
"Uh, no I'm DD." He says.
"Boooring" I say leaving his side to take another shot of tequila. I gasp, "guys, I just had the best idea I've ever had. Let's go play drinking games upstairs." I smile looking at everyone, expecting them to agree.
"Uh, Lizzy, I'm pretty sure all the rooms upstairs are taken." Chase whispers in my ear.
I smirk, "not the attic. Come on, let's go." I say grabbing four bottles of only god knows what and walking up stairs trying not to trip on my way up. With my luck, I don't lift my foot high enough to step up in the next stair, and I go flying forward, sending the bottles of whatever I had rolling down the stairs.
"Whoa! Liz are you okay?" I hear a familiar voice.
I look up from the stairs where I am currently laying. "Oh my god, you're bleeding." He says walking down a few stairs to get to me. He's holding my face, to get a better look at my bloody nose, "it's not like you care anyways" I say frowning and grabbing his hands and pulling them away from my face.
"Liz, let me help--" his voice gets cut off
"Hey, I know you. You hit Lizzy's car at the race after she beat you." Sam says from the bottom of the stairs with Chase behind him.
I look at the both of them. "What happened to you?" Chase says half laughing and coming up the stairs to look at my nose.
"Oh you know I'm just seein' if you cleaned your stairs." I say bringing my face close to the floor like I'm examining it for crums.
He laughs. "C'mon, let's get you cleaned up."
~Chase's POV~
I grab Lizzy's arm to help her up until she starts yelling.
"Hey! No! Those are mine! You can't have those! They're for my friends and I 'cause we're going to play a game that involves those bottles!" She yells at some kid picking up the bottles that she must have dropped.
I laugh. "Dude, I just wouldn't touch 'em" I say laughing, "she's pretty drunk."
"Hey! I am not that drunk." She says straightening her back and almost falls over.
"Whoa." I say catching her and laughing, "yeah you are, you can't even stand up straight."
She smiles at what I said, then her eyes land on something behind me and her face hardens. "What are you still doing here?" She slurs. I turn around curious at who she's talking to. I turn to see a guy with dark hair and blue eyes. He kind of looks like Sam, in a way.
"Oh I thought you knew, I moved here to be with you but you obviously already found someone else." He says shooting me a death glare.
"Hey, Chase is my friend. You can't talk about him like that." Lizzy says pointing drunkenly at the dark haired guy.
He throws his hands up in surrender. As he heads down the stairs he stops right behind me and says, "she loved me once and she will again, so stop trying." With that said he was gone.
Dickhead.
"Here." Mason says, handing Lizzy the bottles she had dropped. "Why don't you go ahead, Chase and I will catch up with you, were going to get some rags to clean you up."
She just nods and heads back up the stairs. "Dude who the hell was that? And don't even say you're to drunk to talk about this right now because I know you have a very high tolerance when it comes to alcohol." Mason says turning to me. "And I don't see any effort with you trying to get a date with her." He says going back into the kitchen to grab the rags. I follow.
"I think that guy might be her ex. And stay out of it. You don't know what I'm planning on doing." I say taking a beer from the fridge and taking a swig out of it.
"Dude, you made the bet with me, therefore I am not going to stay out of it." He says taking the hand towel out of the bottom drawer, and tosses it to me and heads upstairs, leaving me alone.
I take a deep breath and head upstairs myself.
When I finally get up to the attic, Lizzy is chugging from a bottle of only god knows what, and everybody yelling "chug, chug, chug."
The blood from her nose still hasn't stopped bleeding, so she still has blood running down her face. I laugh at the sight I walk in on. I shake my head and walk up to Lizzy. "Hey, hey, I think that's enough." I say trying to take the bottle from her.
She only groans and turns away so I can't see her face or the bottle. "She made a bet with this girl Amanda, Dylan, and my friend, Wyatt. They all betted that she couldn't drink the whole thing. There's about a hundred and fifty dollars on the table right now." Jen says shaking her head and laughing.
"Ah, I see. Who's Wyatt?" I ask frowning.
"Uh, just an old friend from way long ago. He moved away a couple of years ago, but now he's back. We were best friends." She says keeping her eyes on Lizzy and everyone who's encouraging her.
"Oh, gottcha." I say, taking a swig of my beer.
Soon enough there were cheers and boo's thrown across the room. Lizzy had finished the bottle.
"Damn, I put fifty bucks into that. I was sure she wasn't going to finish the whole thing." A dark haired guy walks up to me, taking a drink out of a vodka bottle.
"Yeah, man she's crazy." I say shaking my head.
"I'm Wyatt." He says holding out his hand.
I take it, "Chase."
"So, do you know what kind of guys she's into?"
"Lizzy?" I look at him, frowning.
"Yeah, she's the crazy type and so happens, I like the crazy ones."
My jaw clenches. "She doesn't date."
"Oh I can change that, real quick." He winks and walks away.
