Ridiculous
We've only been in this house for a week and I already hate it. "Change is good" Mom said, "Change is fun" Mom said. This is not under any circumstances fun. At all. I freaking hate unpacking, in fact I hate it so much that I haven't even unpacked one thing other than my suit case which had all the things I really need in it. "Hello miss Liz, would you like help unpacking your boxes and bags?" One of our new maids walks into my gigantic bedroom, that's surrounded by light blue walls. She looks tired. She has bags under eyes, like she hasn't slept in days. I've never been one to use our maids for my own personal gain. In fact I hated doing that, when we lived in New York, our maids would come into my room and clean it up. I mean it's not like I'm accusing them of going through my things but it's my room. I just wish we didn't have maids or cooks, like normal people. "It's Lizzy, and no thanks I think I'm good." I say back to her, with a boring tone to my voice. "Miss Lizzy." She corrects, "Your mother insisted that I help you. Only because you've only unpacked one suit case." She says looking at her black pumps that go with her outfit. I put a fake smile on my face, "Well my mother is wrong. I'm going to start right now. I just wanted to get used to the place before I did any extreme unpacking." She just nods at my words then walks out of my room, closing the door behind her. I groan as plop onto my fluffy baby blue blanket that's spread across my mattress. I hear my door open again. What does that new maid want now? "Hey honey, I see you've been unpacking." Sarcasm laces my father's words. "I hate this place. It's too big." I say, sitting up on my bed. My dad and I get along much better than mom and I. I don't know why, he, just... gets me. He chuckles at my statement, "It is pretty big, but school starts up here next week, are you excited to start your new school?" He sits next me. "Totally, because being the new kid is always exciting!" I say with fake enthusiasm in my voice, along with a fake smile to match it. "Come on Lizzy, it's not that bad, and plus you get to meet new people and find new friends." "What's wrong with my old friends?" I frown. "Well, your mother and I both think that they may have been bad influences on you." He shrugs "Anyways, dinner will be ready in five." He says as he's getting up from my bed and walking out of the room. Well I think that I was a bad influence on them. Not the other way around, but whatever. ○○○ "Lizzy! Get up please! I need you down here!" I hear my mom yell from downstairs. "Lizzy! Please I have to go to work in twenty" She yells again. I groan looking at my phone to see what time it is. 7:34 Are you serious mom? I roll out of bed not even bothering to get dressed or fix my hair to go downstairs. "Hey hon- Oh my! Lizzy, your hair!" She exclaims as I walk into the kitchen. "Dang I know I look bad but you don't have to bluntly put it out there. What did you, so desperately, need me for?" I say sitting on one of the stools at the island in our kitchen, in the middle of the marble covered counter was a bowl of fruit, I lazily grab a banana and start to peel it. "We have new neighbors moving in next door today and I would like you to take some brownies over to them, I had gotten up early to make them." She says with a sickeningly sweet smile on her face. I raise my eyebrows. "You want me to take over brownies to our new neighbors? What are you? Crazy?" "Lizzy just do this one thing for me, please" She stops running around the kitchen to make her lunch to look at me while she puts her badge around her neck. She has a pleading look in her eyes, one that I haven't seen before. It's almost like she's... begging for me to go? "Ugh fine, but this is the first and last time I am ever taking brownies to the neighbors." I sigh as a sign of giving in. I just don't feel like arguing with her right now. "Ah, thank you sweetie." She kisses my forehead then grabs her lunch and out the door she goes. I take a deep breath while I finish my banana. I get up to throw away the peel when my dad walks in. "Hey goofball, did mom tell you about the new neighbors?" He says winking at me. Why is my dad winking at me?! "Um, is your eye twitching or something, dad? Or do you have a little fuzzy in there?" I frown at him. "No! I don't have anything in my eye and it most definitely is not twitching, have you never seen a wink before?" He does it again, again, and again. "Dad, stop. You're freaking me out. Why are you doing that anyways?" I say hoisting myself up in to the marble covered island. "Because I want to, anyways the new neighbors; Their moving in next door, and a little bird told me that they have a son that's about your age too." He says a little to excitedly. "And..." I motion with my hand for him to go on, not getting what hes trying to hint at. "And, I think that since you don't have friends yet that maybe you could become friends and then maybe even more than friends." He says winking again. "Okay dad, you need to stop with the winking. It's creepy," I say crossing my arms. He frowns while fixing his tie to his suit and tucking it in to the jacket, "Your mother thinks it's cute." "Maybe to her, the one you married, but not to your daughter. And yes, she already told me about them, I'm taking brownies over there. I'm going to get ready right now." I say jumping off the counter and slowly dragging myself upstairs to my bathroom to get into the shower. By the time I got out of the shower, did my light make up and put my hair in a messy bun, dad had already left. Leaving this gigantic house all to myself, aside from the maid, but that's the only other person. I get dressed into my black leggings and a dark blue hoodie with my dark blue vans. I grab my keys and Wallet and head down stairs. "Bye, uh, I'm sorry I didn't get your name." I turn to the maid. "Alice." She simply says. I smile at her, "Bye Alice." I say as I'm grabbing the brownies out of the fridge. "Bye" She barely says in a whisper. I'm not usually one to be nice to people I don't know but the maids, their a different story, they give up their whole week to come over to my house and clean it. So yeah I got some respect for them. I walk out the doors and to my left where the moving truck is parked out front. I walk up the big steps that leads to their front door. I take a deep breath, meeting new people is so not my thing. I ring the doorbell. It swings open to reveal a light brown headed guy with blue eyes. Holy lord. "Can I help you?" He asks raising an eye brow. Stay cool. "Here." I hold out the plate of brownies to him. "Brownies?" "Yeah, my mom got me up and made me bring them over, we live next door." I say pointing to our right where my house sits. "Ooh. Okay cool thanks." He says. "Dear, who is it?" I see a gorgeous lady comes up from behind him. I can see where he got his looks from. "The neighbor." "Oh!! Hi there, I'm Penny. Please, come in!" She steps to the side so I can walk through the door, right in to the living room. "Please take a seat, and thank you for the brownies." "No problem." I say sitting down on the sofa. The guy who answered the door sits in the love seat across from me. Hes just sitting there and staring at me. Creep. "What?" I say getting tired of being stared at. "I'm Sam." "Cool." I say leaning back in to the couch. "Aren't you going to tell me your name?" He does the same and crosses his arms. "Why? It's not like we're friends." I say, meeting his deep blue eyes. "We could be. I mean I'm not the bragging type but to have you," He says looking me up and down, "by my side when I start my first day of school here, would better than anything." He says smirking like he had just won me over. "You're a f*****g cheese ball." I lean forward so now I'm leaning over the coffee table that's separating us, he does the same. "Maybe, but it works, on most people, one day baby, one day it'll work on you" "In your dreams." I say getting up from the couch and walking out the door to my car so I can go get gas and junk food for lunch. "Hey where are you going?" I hear footsteps behind me, following me. I turn around. Coming face to face with Sam. "Why do you care?" "I don't." He says smirking. "Then why follow me out here?" "I never got your name." "And you never will." I say turning around and walking to the other side of my 68' fastback mustang. As I shut the door and start the engine I look over to see Sam getting in the passenger seat. "What do you think you're doing?!" I almost yell. He looks at me with confusion plastered on his face. "Um going with you.." He says like he's done nothing wrong. I roll my eyes. "Whatever." I say as I buckle and pull out of my drive way. "So, where are we going?" He asks looking over at me. "Well I need to get gas and then some lunch, maybe go drive around where there aren't any cops." Now it's my turn to smirk at him. He smirks as well. "I like driving around. You into street racing?" I give him a weird look. I mean, I've done it but not like serious street racing where you almost die. So I just decide to say, "Um no." "Do you like going fast?" "Yeah." "Then when you're done getting gas and going to store I have something to show you." He says not looking at me, just looking straight ahead. Who does this guy think he is? He's just plain ridiculous.
