There's A First Time For Everything

"This is Lizzy, my girlfriend" *** I whip my head around and look at Chase with wide eyes. He raises his eye brows and tilts his head towards his mom, almost like he's trying to tell me to go along with it. He does it again. I roll my eyes and walk up to him, good thing he finally got dressed. I put my arm around his waist, "yeah, Chase is great, I can't believe you didn't tell your mom about me yet babe." He responds and puts his arm around my neck. "I was going to tell her today, but that stupid guy told everyone that there was a party here." Chase's mom looks at us with wide eyes. "You really have a girlfriend?" She asks as if its a big deal. "Yes mom" Chase says while I nod my head. Her confused face turns in a glowing smile. "Awe, son, so proud of you." She says, "now you too get out of here. Go have a lunch date or something, I'll clean up the mess." "Are you sure mom? We can stay and help." Chase says. "No, no. You guys go have fun." She says while picking up a couple of cups off the floor. "Okay, mom, love you." He says heading down the stairs with my hand in his. "Chase. Why did you have me lie to her about that?" I say when we reach his car. "You were already lying to her." He states. "To get Sam in trouble." I state next, "you had me lie to your mom about being your girlfriend." "She couldn't know that I had you over if you weren't my girlfriend." "You bring girls home and sleep with them all the time. How does she not notice?" I spat at him. "She's never home. That's why I threw the party, Cause I didn't know she was going to be home today she said she'd be another week." He says, looking down at his hands. "Oh, Chase I'm sorry, my parents are never home either, I was raised by our maid" I laugh a little, remembering the maid that we had to leave behind in New York. "Anyways, lets get you home." He says starting the engine and pulling out of the drive way. **** The whole car ride to my house was spent in silence, except for the faint sound of the radio in the background. As Chase puts the car in park, on the side of the road, behind my car, I say, "well, thanks for the ride. I'll see you later." "Hey, do you actually want to go get some lunch? Because if I go home without a story my mom believe that we actually went." He says before I open the door. I laugh, "Dude no way, that's totally your problem. You're the one who lied to your mom about having a girlfriend." I say while getting out the passenger seat. "It won't be that easy to get me on a date." I wink through the open window of the car, then walk in side. "Hey Alice." I say as I walk through the door, and see her sweeping the kitchen floor. "Oh, hi sweetie, would you like me to quickly whip something up for," she pauses and looks at the clock, "lunch?" we both laugh. "Sure." I say while walking towards the stairs, "I'm just going to change clothes first." She just nods her head as shes looking through the fridge to try and find something to cook. When I came back down stairs with my semi-curly hair in a ponytail, "hey, I hope grilled cheese is okay?" Alice says as I walk into the kitchen, with my long sweat pants dragging on the floor. I look at her, "when is grilled cheese ever not okay?" I laugh, sitting on the stool that's facing her. She scoops three sandwiches off the pan and onto two different plates, two for me and one for her. "So who's that guy you were out all night with?" Alice moves her eye brows up and down. I laugh at her faint red eye browns going up and down. "His name is Chase, and before you say anything we're just friends." I laugh again, this time she joins me. She puts her hands up in surrender, "I wasn't going to say anything." "Uh huh, sure, anyways, hows your daughter? My dad said she had to go to the doctor's." I say taking a bite out of my sandwich. "Oh yeah, shes fine, she just needed a check up for her cheer leading this year." she rolls her eyes at the sport her daughter is doing this year. "Oh really? Does she go to the same school as me?" I raise my eye brows. She looks up for a couple of seconds, like shes thinking about it, "Now that I think about I think she does." Says nodding her head. "Oh, cool. My best friend, back in New York, used to be on the cheer team. Maybe I'll eat lunch with her sometime." I say. "Wha--" I get interrupted by the front door opening, revealing the person I love most in this whole world, my best friend. "Amanda?!" I yell and jump up to give her a hug. "Honey what are you doing here? I'm working." I look at Alice as she says that, then look back at Amanda. "Amanda is your daughter that goes to my school, and is on the cheer team?!" I look at Alice and then back to Amanda. I guess it makes sense, Alice has curly red hair and Amanda has curly strawberry blonde hair.
