The closeness between Serene and Alaric grew more intense with each day that passed by in the previous week, that I could no longer bear it and I had to invite him to my room for a conversation.
"What exactly is going on between you two?" I ask. He's seated on the couch and I remain standing by the wall.
"Me and who?" He inquires. I can't believe he's acting as though he doesn't know who it is I'm talking about.

"No I don't. Doesn't the person have a name?" He drags further. If there is one thing he's pretty good at, then it's getting on my nerves.
