KAIDA POV I was both excited and scared for Kai when I heard he was starting his shift. Having grown up around wolves, I had at least an inkling of what I was going to go through, but Kai was brought up human. He had never seen a real shift before, so he had no idea what he was in for. Kai and I already shared a bond, and through it, I could feel how scared he was. When we finally made it to the island, I couldn't help but think about the last time I was on this island, a few short weeks ago, for my first shift.
