" I want to see my Leo !! ", Kavya asked desperately.
" I will take him to meet you, but first take a rest. You are exhausted ", Derek said calmly and gave the baby to a nurse to clean her.
" No, I want to meet my baby !! Please let me see my son ", Kavya pleaded.
" Kavya !! Leo is not going anywhere. Have patience ", Derek caressed her head.
" I don't have time, please let me see my son ", Kavya asked desperately.
" Please let her see her son ", the doctor said with a sympathetic look, as if she knew what Kavya wanted to say.
" Ok !! I will but promise me after that you will take a proper rest ", Derek asked strictly.
Kavya nodded her head, Derek went outside to take Leo with him.
" Mommy ! where is my princess ? ", Leo entered inside the E.R excitedly.
"Sssshhhh! I told you not to make noise ", Derek scolded him.
"Oops ! so sorry ", Leo grinned and he walked towards Kavya.
" Mommy ! are you sick ? ", Leo asked innocently.
Kavya chuckled and pulled him closer, " No, I am a little bit tired. Your princess is so naughty. Look, they trouble me and dad ".
" I want to see my princess ", Leo asked.
In the meantime, a nurse came with the baby in her hand, " There is your baby sister young man ", Nurse said, and she showed the baby.
"Woowww !! She is beautiful !! ", Leo said with a loving expression.
" She is indeed beautiful ", Derek took his daughter from the nurse.
"Dad! I want to hold her ", Leo asked, making a pout.
" You are too small to hold a princess ", Derek laughed.
"Mommy !! Please tell daddy to give my princess to me ", Leo asked stubbornly.
Kavya laughed and said, " Derek, let her give her princess. In the future, he will be the one who will take care of her ", Kavya asked.
" Champ !! Come here ", Derek kneeled on his knees while holding his daughter.
" Hold her carefully ", Derek settled little Kamya in Leo's arms carefully.

"Leo !! Baby, take care of your princess, be like her shadow, protect her from all evil. From now, she is your responsibility. Remember never to let her cry. If she cries I will be hurt and I know my son can never hurt me ", Kavya said affectionately.
" Mommy! I will be the princess's knight. Don't worry, it's my promise ", Leo assured.
" I am tired !! I want to sleep ", Kavya asked, as she could feel the pain inside her which was snatching her life with every passing second.
" Love !! You need to take a rest . ", Derek kissed the top of her head.
"Derek! You forgot to bring my maternity bag. Bring it from home. It's in the nursery room Kamya ", Kavya asked.
"Sure! I will bring it myself. Is there anything you need? ", Derek asked.
"I want a kiss! and a family photo of us ", Kavya grinned.
"Sure! We will have ", Derek asked the nurse to click their family photo.
" I love you, Derek. I am sorry !! ", Kavya kissed Derek deeply for one last time. Although Derek felt a little bit weird about her words, he shoved his worries aside by giving reasons that it's all the fault of hormones.
"Now !! Go and Leo. I want a grand welcome to our princess ", Kavya said.
"Dad !! I will also come with you. I had to make arrangements for the welcome of my princess ", Leo asked.
"Looks like my champ has started to be a responsible big brother ", Derek teased.
"Yeah !! I am a big brother ", Leo said proudly.

Kavya was watching the retreating figures of the two precious men in her life. It felt like with them his life was also going far away from her.
When Derek and Leo left the room, the doctor watched Kavya with a pitiful look, " Shouldn't they have to be with you when you are living the last breath of your life ", the doctor asked.

The room is filled with the havoc of doctors, nurses, and the beeping sound of the machines.
"Report the death time of the patient ", the doctor said with a sigh.

When Derek entered the house, his heart felt a weird kind of uneasiness like the precious thing had gotten separated from him.
"Kavya !! ", he said unknowingly.
" Dad! I will stay here to welcome my princess. Take them back home ", Leo asked.
"Sure! I will ", Derek went to the nursery room and opened the cupboard, then put out the maternity bag.
When he took out the bag he found a gift box hidden behind the bag. " For my hubby and the best day in the world ", Derek smiled when he read the note on the gift box.
He opened the box and found Pendrivee in it with a note " Open it !!" He smiled and inserted Pendrive into his laptop.
He clicked on the video to see what surprise his wife had prepared.
" So the long-awaited day had come !! Congratulations daddy !! Leo must be busy making arrangements for our princess ", the clip started.
"He is over the moon ", Derek smiled while watching the clip. It feels like Kavya is talking to her face to face, not in the clip.
" Derek, you are like a blessing to me, I love you !! I know !! I chanted these words many times, it's not new. But I mean it . ", Kavya sniffed.
" Don't cry, love! We have a life ahead to confess our feelings ", Derek touched the screen of his laptop.

I hid another truth from you: I have uterus cancer. Shh !! Hold yourself, you need to be strong. When the doctor informed me that it was late, I had to choose between my life or our princess's life. Derek was in tears, he couldn't proceed with the truth !! " Is the god again playing with me ? ", Derek asked himself, he shoved aside his laptop furiously and ran out of the nursery room desperately.

When Derek reached the hospital, he ran to the doctor, " Where is my wife ? I want to see her ? ", Derek yelled impatiently.
" I am sorry for your loss !! ", the doctor shook her head.
" No ! she can't do this. Kavya please don't leave me !! ", Derek pulled, he had lost his sanity.
" Sir ! please come with me ", the nurse asked Derek,
With wobbly legs Derek followed the nurse, the nurse took him to the mortuary room where the corpse of Kavya was kept.
" Fill the formalities and you can take the corpse for the funeral ", the nurse said.
Derek's eyes were fixed on the cloth covered with white cloth, with trembling hands he uncovered the cloth.
"Why? Why did you leave me alone? Why ? ", Derek caressed the pale and lifeless face of Kavya.
" What will I answer Leo when he will ask for you? How will I handle Kamya, she needed her mother !! You are so selfish !! ,Derek cursed.
" Sir ! please fill the formalities ", the nurse asked one last time.
" I will ! ", Derek said with a devastated tone.

" Yippie !! soon dad takes mommy and little princess with him. Grandma ! she is so beautiful, you will love her ", Leo informed excitedly.
" Champ! you are now big brother, you should be responsible ", Derek's mother said.
"Celia! Derek called me, he is coming back in a few minutes ", Derek's father informed with a worried look on his face.
"Is everything alright ? ", Celia noticed the worried face of her husband.
" You need to be strong, our son needs you,", Derren said with a sigh
" Tell me the truth !! ", Celia asked.
" Mam! master had arrived ", the maid informed, they heard the honking of a car. Celia ran out to meet her son impatiently.
Derek came out of the car with his newborn in his hands, " Derek my son !! why did you take so long ? ", Celia asked with concern.
Derek didn't reply and went inside his house, " Welcome Princess !!! ", ", Leo screamed in excitement and popped the party popper Derek silently walked inside while ignoring Leo, Leo frowned and ran towards the entrance, "Where is mommy ? ", Leo asked.
Derek stared outside with a lost look and said, " She left us !! this time for sure ".
" What? Derek where is she? Is something serious with her health ? ", Celia gasped.
" Mom !! she lied to me ! she is a liar! she promised that she will stay by my side forever but look she left us ", Derek said with a cracked voice.
" What are you trying to say? What the........... ", Celia stopped when she heard the siren of an ambulance.
Both Leo and Celia ran outside and found then two men from hospital staff were taking out a body on the stretcher, "No !! no ! this can't be !! ", Celia palmed her mouth to control her sniffs.
Leo was completely confused, he ran towards the Stecher and removed the cloth from the corpse, what he saw made her confused, " Mommy !! why are you sleeping ? ", Leo asked with an innocent look.
" Leo !! son come here ", Derren said.
" Dad! please tell me what happened to mommy. Is she upset with me ? ", Leo asked Derek but he didn't get any reply
" What happened to mommy? Why she is not answering? Daddy wake her up? I want to surprise her ? ", Leo asked stubbornly and shook their body of Kavya.
" I am sorry son I can't save your mommy once again !! ", Derek broke down in front of Leo.
"Daddy !! Tell what do you mean ? ", Leo asked, his words made him confused but at the same time he is scared.
" Leo ! your mommy is tired! let her rest ", Celia tried to control the situation.
"Mom ! please don't lie, he had to face the truth !! ", Derek spoke and went near Leo.
" Leo my son !! your mommy is no more, She left us !! She is dead !! She left us and our princess alone !! She had one to somewhere from where she will never come back !! Leo, you lost your mother!! ", Derek spat the truth.
His every word stuck like lightning hit the poor boy, " Dadda !! you are lying !! mommy can't die ! ", Leo asked, fresh tears brimming in his eyes.
"It's true !! Your mommy is no more !! ", Derek hugged Leo tightly.
" How could you let him die !! you are a doctor! why didn't you save her? Dadda !! how could you fail to save her ?? ", Leo yelled at Derek.
"I am sorry son !! I am so sorry !! ", Derek sniffed.
" You are not a superhero !! You don't have superpowers !! I hate you !! doctors are not superheroes! I don't want to be like you ", Leo yelled and ran to his room.
" Leo !! son, please calm down ", Celia tried to stop him.
"Mom ! let him cry he had lost his mother ", Derek said.
" I had called the priest for the funeral !! ", Derren informed.
Derek just nodded his head and sat beside the corpse of Kavya as he knew soon it will be no more with her.
