OBSESSED

it was my first day at Springdale high, and I was already hating it. I stood in front of mom's car fidgeting and trying to practice ways to talk to people, willing my self to be confident. Then mom's voice echoed "make friends, get good grades and don't be shy". Easy for her to say because she wasn't the one moving to a new school again and alone. I spotted him and my eyes locked onto him from across the the crowded hallway. David Williams, the star athlete of the school's basketball team. His photos where on the wall of course posters of him so it was really easy figuring out his name. His smile illuminated my heart and I taught what it'd be like if I was the one actually making him smile. As I turned to walk into the class, I saw David walking into the same class. My mind playing scenarios of what will happen when we are together in calculus class. I didn't know it then but my life was a out to take a drastic turn. My heart was pounding as I reached for the door to room 214. I was two steps away from room 214 when I realized David walking right behind me. I immediately started imagining three different ways to say hi to him without sounding stupid. I got closer to the door and pushed it open and I got hit with the sound of a violin, I looked around and saw a keyboard in the corner and a teacher turning the guitar. "can I help you?" he asked, looking up at me and David who had stepped in right behind me. I froze and started checking my schedule. I checked my schedule for the 9th time and saw the same thing 9:00 Am, room 214 calculus. But the door clearly said Music apprection. David quietly laughed and said looks like we've got a wrong room. my first day and I was already messing up infront of him. Then a voice echoed "New schedules we're sent out last night, calculus has been moved to room 308 you two should head to the office to get your schedule updated before you're marked absent" .David started moving then stopped to glance at me and said "you going too?". I nodded because my voice automatically stooped working. The journey to the admin office seemed fast and the hallway seemed smaller with him next to me. When we got to the admin office, the secretary barely looked up, she said "let me guess old schedule?". We replied "yes!" then she slid two papers across the desk and said "Room 308, you're 10 minutes late already". I immediately started walking towards room 308 forgetting that David was right behind me. When I finally made it to room 308, Mr. Jay stooped mid sentence the whole class turned. He said" why are you both late?" before we could even utter a word he said tapping his marker against the board"schedule mix-up?" . "yes sir" David answered ."we fixed it at the office" Mr.Jay sighed "only two seats left, back rows" . We both made out way to the back row. All eyes were on me, maybe because they taught it was a privilege for me a new student to sit next to David on my first day. As we both sat down, David turned and gave me an apologetic smile, the same he had on the posters but this time it was real and it was for me. I smiled and said to my self, " maybe this school won't be that bad after all"
