Old Library Secret

The next morning, Allyah woke up with the strange feeling that the world had quietly shifted overnight. The events in the forest replayed in her mind: Seren’s calm voice, the warning from the stars, and the mysterious mention of “him.” Three Star Listeners. But Seren had sounded like she feared a fourth. Allyah grabbed her notebook and scribbled everything she remembered about the whispers. "Two hearts. One path." "Not alone." "Danger comes." “What does that even mean?” she muttered. A message notification lit up her phone. Luke: "Meet me at the old town library. I think I found something." The old town library sat near the plaza, a quiet building that smelled like dust and history. Allyah used to visit it as a child, mostly to escape the heat and read adventure stories. When she arrived, Luke was already inside, flipping through a thick, ancient-looking book. “You look like someone who hasn’t slept,” Allyah said. Luke gave a tired smile. “I didn’t. Seren came by early this morning.” “What?!” Allyah nearly shouted. “Shh,” Luke whispered, glancing at the librarian. “She told me something important.” Allyah leaned closer. “What?” Luke turned the book toward her. The page showed an old illustration: three figures standing beneath a sky full of glowing stars. Below it were words written in faded ink. “The Star Listeners are chosen to guard the balance between the sky and the earth. When the stars whisper, destiny moves.” Allyah swallowed. “That’s… intense.” “It gets worse,” Luke said. He pointed to another passage. “But when one seeks to steal the stars’ power, darkness will rise. Only the unity of the Star Listeners can stop it.” Allyah felt a chill. “You think that’s what Seren meant?” Luke nodded slowly. “Someone might be trying to control the star whispers.” At that moment, the library door creaked open. Seren walked in. “You’re finally figuring it out,” she said. Allyah crossed her arms. “You could have told us earlier.” Seren shrugged. “You needed to see it yourselves.” Luke frowned. “So who is this person the stars warned us about?” Seren’s eyes darkened slightly. “That’s the problem.” “We don’t know.” The room fell silent. Outside, the afternoon sky was slowly turning gray. Seren looked up at the window. “The stars have been restless lately.” Allyah blinked. “Restless?” “Yes.” Seren’s voice lowered. “That usually means something big is about to happen.” ----
