Blurb

Some people believe that stars are silent. Allyah Dela Cruz knows better. When she returns to her quiet hometown in Bukidnon, she expects nothing more than peaceful nights, familiar mountains, and memories of a life she left behind. But everything changes the night she hears a whisper from the sky. "Find him." Confused and frightened, Allyah soon discovers she is not the only one who can hear the stars. Luke Reyes-her childhood friend and the boy who once broke her heart-has been hearing them for years. As mysterious whispers guide them through dreams, memories, and secrets buried in the past, Allyah and Luke realize that their lives may be written in the stars themselves. But magic always comes with a price. Because sometimes, destiny asks you to choose between "following the stars or following your heart" and when the stars whisper, ignoring them might change everything. A story about love, destiny, and the magic hidden in the quietest places.

When the Stars Whisper
The bus rattled along the winding road to Don Carlos, and Allyah pressed her forehead against the window, trying to memorize the hills glowing gold in the late afternoon sun. She had left Bukidnon three years ago, chasing city dreams, but the sight of the mountains made her chest tighten. Somehow, home had changed, and yet it hadn’t. She stepped off the bus, dragging her suitcase over the dusty road, when a familiar voice stopped her heartbeat. “Allyah?” She turned. There he was. Luke Reyes. Taller, leaner, and with the same mischievous smile that used to make her heart flutter in high school. Her lips parted in disbelief. “Luke… wow, it’s been… what? Three years?” “Four,” he corrected, eyes locking with hers as if he had memorized every freckle, every line. The sun dipped lower, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple. Allyah shivered slightly as the first star appeared—alone, bright, and startlingly close. And then… she heard it. “Find him.” Her head snapped up. The sky was quiet. Surely, she imagined it. “Did you… see that star?” she asked, hesitating. Luke tilted his head, studying her. “Which one?” “The… first one. It felt… like it was speaking.” A small smile tugged at his lips. “I thought I was the only one.” Allyah stared. “The only one… what?” Luke reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. “The only one who can hear it. The stars. They… whisper sometimes. Only to certain people.” Allyah’s heart skipped. She laughed nervously. “You’re joking.” “I never joke about this.” His voice softened, almost reverent. “They brought me back here… Allyah. They wanted me to find you.” She laughed again, unsure whether to be thrilled or scared. “The stars… wanted you to find me?” “Yes. And now… they’ve found you, too.” As darkness settled over the town, the first few stars blinked awake, whispering secrets only they could understand. Allyah realized, with a thrill she couldn’t explain, that this summer would not just be about returning home. It would be about rediscovering her heart—and the magic that had always been waiting for her. The stars twinkled above, and somewhere, deep inside, Allyah felt a story beginning… one that only she and Luke could write together.
