Neil's POV "You sure about this Lewis?" Wrights asked as we're currently walking towards the couple's house. Yes, we're here and I know it might seem off to everyone else but I've already made up my mind. I'm gonna finish this. It was supposed to be just me but Wrights insisted that he would tag along. Partners, he even said. "I know there must be something here that they didn't look through. Or should I say, they didn't mind." I said while slowly opening the door of this abandoned house. Good thing there was no one lurking around nor was it locked. We were free to go inside without breaking any sweat. I looked at Wrights which is also looking at me, I nodded, communicating through our minds, as we both decided to separate ways to look around. The stench that was here a few days ago is now mixed with all sorts of smell that I couldn't understand. The place is dark and mostly everything here smells like dust and dead rats. I checked every corner, including the cabinets and drawers in their kitchen using my flashlight. But sadly, there was nothing interesting at all that will lead me to point on where Mr. Reed could be or what could be the motive of Mrs. Reed death. Where could he really be at this point? For no one knows except him. Honestly, it's hard to tell if there is something going on. We're stuck. There's a lot of starting points that it's getting confusing sometimes. But I'm sure that once everything is gathered, these will all make sense in the end. I mean, hopefully. But to whoever saw the body first must've noticed the smell or went to check inside. Like, why? As I was lurking around, the frames that's hanging to the walls caught my attention. It was pictures of the couple; of their marriage, youth, and such memories, including some other landscapes that has nothing to do with them. I suppose it was just put here to add more aesthetic vibes. When I was all satisfied with what I've seen and was already to move to another area to search, I saw one odd frame that surely tickled my senses. It was placed on the upper left of all the pictures making it hard to notice if you're short. Of all that's here, this one was empty. Why is this one empty? What was here before? I slowly took it and it's really empty, not even a landscape is in here. I started to take every piece out hoping to see something inside, but there was nothing. I put everything back in its place and right before I was about to put it back when I noticed a letter behind the frame. K. What is this? Is this the frame's name or something more than that? My thoughts went in a blur but got cut off when Wrights suddenly called my name from upstairs. Huh, I had no idea he was searching up there. "Lewis! Come!" I rushed my way up after I put the frame back and even almost stumbled upon the last step because of some squeaky ball just lying randomly there, good thing I held on to the handrail just before I was about to go up. Just incase things like this happens and repeating the fact that it is dark. I immediately saw Wrights waiting outside one of the rooms here, all silent and smiling. "Be careful there." said he. I shook my head and walked closer to him. "Did you find anything?" I asked. He didn't respond to my question, instead he was all focused in looking at the room, and so, I did the same the moment I got beside him. It was pretty obvious that this was the couple's room, because the bed's size and everything is screaming for attention. But really, how many rooms are there even? I looked around and noticed that there are like three more doors, including the one we're looking at. So basically there are two more doors on the left side. "Did you went to check here already Wrights?" I asked again, referring to the bedroom. "Just about to." he simply replied. I nodded and tapped him on his shoulder. "I'm just gonna check those other two." I didn't wait for his response and directly went to where I was supposed to be going. The floors were squeaking and very dusty. It's like one wrong move and you're going down. It would be much easier if they didn't cut the electricity yet in this house, we would've been using the lights for a better search. Just like mostly everything here, the doorknobs were also dusty, but the good thing about is, it wasn't locked. As I opened the first door, I saw a faucet, a mirror and all other stuff that is in the bathroom. Because yes, the first room was a bathroom. It was shockingly clean, maybe because they used marble instead of white tiles so the dirt or any smudge aren't that much visible. The mirror, also, was full of dust, and it's the first thing you will see the moment you open the door. You can see whoever the one is standing on the other side of the door, if ever there was. I shut it back in and went to the next door, but to my surprise, this one was locked. I couldn't just break the door to come in, it'd leave a big trace that someone snuck in. I sighed and just decided to tell Wrights about it, but when I was about to go look for him, he was already standing behind me, just waiting for me to face him. "Jesus, Wrights!" "What?" he asked, giggling. "Is that one, locked?" he added between his laughter. I nodded and sighed. "Yes, it is. What about their bedroom? Anything there?" He pouted while shaking his head. "Nothing but sheets, pillows. Not even condoms for me to give you--" "Shut the f**k up." He laughed again. "Just kidding, I found a notebook in their drawer. Must be their diary or something." he said and showed me a mini-sized notebook. I immediately took it from him and was about to scan through the pages when my phone suddenly vibrated causing for both of us to flinch. I took it from my pocket and answered without looking on who it was. "Lewis speaking. Who is this? I am still bus--" "Why, really? You had the nerve to ask for a favor to me, which I didn't wanna do in the first place! And now you're busy?" I slapped my forehead as I heard Wrights chuckled. "My apologies, Raine. What is it?" There was a ten second silence after, maybe because she was thinking if she'd tell me or what. Or maybe she got pissed. This girl. Wrights and I both stared at each other, waiting for whatever she was about to say or ask. Until she finally spilled the tea. "We found something that might be the cause of her death."
