Chapter 45

3139 Words

45 Frank had a busy day with the Sheriff of Centennial. He met Shaun at the impound lot at seven in the morning, hours earlier than he usually arrived. Though the dogs knew Shaun, if the gates were closed, they were on duty. While Shaun cleaned out the glove compartment, removed the rifle from the cargo hold, and took the box of ammo stored in the side pocket of his totaled SUV, he filled the sheriff in on the Cadillac. “Rental company was quite nice about it. Said they would be appreciative if I could save them a trip and bring the wreck back to their lot in Laramie. You don’t need anything out of it, do you?”
