Chapter 8

*POV Dimitri*

“What the f**k were you thinking” I scold my beast. Cassius was losing his patience with our current status of being unmated.

“Mate talked about s*x with disgusting wolf” Cassius snaps back at me.

“I don’t like it either but she didn’t know we existed, it’s not her fault”

But I may have to teach her to watch her mouth. Speaking so freely I might have to bend her over my knee.

I run through the halls towards the side entrance all while thinking of how much I just ruined any chance of Aurora not fighting our mate bond. I can tell she feels it strong and is giving into it but Mason is still in the way. He’s had her in every way and it’s taking everything in me not to kill him. I feel the anger bubbling up in me and I punch the side door sending it off its hinges.

I start to shift as I take off into the woods. Shredding my clothes and having no idea where I’m going.

The amount of s**t that has happened in the past day is ridiculous. The so-called “alpha king” is way more cunning than I thought. And why is he so focused on this packs territory. It’s a big pack and has great resources but why is he so eager to go after it knowing how difficult it’ll be. They have the biggest army for a pack. And now he’s threatened Aurora. Another man threatening to take what’s mine.

Mason has been trying to find a way around our mating laws and I can’t blame him. Aurora is perfect. She’s smart, beautiful and apparently horny as hell. Can’t beat that. She makes me hard just thinking about her hands on my arms.

While we were holding her hand today I felt her slowly letting down her guard with me. She’s got a long way before she’s ready for us to mate. She is still in love with Mason and we need to show her that we can love her better.

*Bang*

Just as I was about at the pack border I heard a loud noise off to the east. I look in that direction and see a puff of smoke climbing above the trees. I take off in that direction while I mindlink Lennox to get Alpha Mason and Beta Derek fast. And the general direction to go in to get to me,

As I head closer to the smoke I come upon what looks like an old saw mill. It looks like it was been blown up with the amount of rubble on the ground. I shift back and start making my way to the main building yelling out to see if anyone was here.

“What happened?” Mason comes walking out of the woods tightening up his sweatpants after shifting.

“I don’t know looks like an explosion. I can’t see anyone inside.” I respond.

“It was an abandoned mill it would’ve been empty. Not sure why anyone would blow it up.” He kinda shrugs.

Lennox and Derek appear out of the woods.

“We followed a scent trail to the border. Looks like they came in, blew it up and left. Nothing else.” Lennox states.

“Was there anything important in here like old records?” I ask

“No it was empty.” Derek replies.

“Then why blow it up?” Lennox questions.

“I don’t know. Distraction? It was the furtherest building from the pack house.” Derek mutters.

“Wait what?” I ask confused.

“Yeah it’s the furthest building from the pack house within our borders.” Mason repeats.

“Where’s Aurora?!” I almost scream at him.

“I left her in her room.” Mason replies.

“Why were you in her room?” I snap.

“Why was she washing claw marks on her hand?” He retorts.

“I don’t have to explain myself to you. You’re lucky I haven’t just killed you and called it a day.”

“You’re lucky that the mate bond would kill Aurora too or I would’ve gotten rid of you too.” Mason snarls back.

“Ha you think you could take me on. Pitiful wolf.”

I stand face to face with him getting as close as I can without touching him. God I wanna punch his face in.

“Well she already loves me, and you’re beast can’t control himself. He’s gunna ruin it for u.”

“ENOUGH!” Derek interrupts. “I can’t get ahold of Aurora via mindlink.”

Oh my fenrir, no.

Before I can hear anything else I dart towards the pack house.
