"Boo." An airy whisper and cold breath hit the back of Dinah's ears, making the hair of her back stand.
Dinah screamed loudly, jumping on Sergio's arms wrapping her arms around him. Sergio grunted, feeling Dinah's force on him as he lay sideways on the couch. Troy boomed in laughter, looking the scene in front of him.
"Screw you Troy!" Dinah glared at him as she watch him laugh.
Troy wiped the tear off his eye, looking at Dinah under his squinted eyes.
"Your face was priceless!" He held in a laugh.
Ally entered the room, bags of candy and other treats in hand, a excited smile on her face. Troy plopped on the other couch in front of Dinah's, and rest his chin on the palm of his hand as he stared at Ally's walking figure towards the kitchen.
"Wow, Ally." Dinah said. "You're really excited about Halloween huh?"
"Yes, Dinah, and giving these treats to make those little kids happy." She squealed excitingly.
Normani, Lauren and Camila walked in as well in the room, walking over the couch where Troy is and sat on the remaining empty seats.
Camila smiled at the candy she sees, an evil smirk forming on her lips.
Ally noticed and glared at her. "No, Camila. You can't have one."
"Oh come on Ally." Camila groaned. "We're on a tour bus, how will you ever give those candy to kids? They don't come and knock randomly on busses."
"Damn." Sergio muttered, causing everyone to look at him. "I forgot that you celebrate Halloween here differently."
Normani looked at him puzzled. "Why?"
Troy lied back comfortably on the couch, crossing his arm behind his head and plopped his feet on the center table. "In the Philippines, We call our Halloween, Undas, we celebrate it by spending all day in the cemetery where we buried our passed loved ones."
Camila's brows narrowed in surprise. "No trick or treating?"
"There's still a trick or treat, but not everyone's a fan of it." Sergio replied.
"But the most exciting thing about Halloween is we get to dress up like demons and hide in the dark to scare those little kids walking around town." Troy laughed evilly.
Ally gasped st him. "How mean of you, Troy." She glared at him playfully.
Lauren lightly giggled. "But I must admit, it's kinda amusing to do."
"Well its because it is." Troy smiled brightly at her. "Y/N's the one who thought of it first, since her grandma's remains are on her house she gets bored every Halloween." Troy explained. "But we do spend the whole day in her house to pay respect for her grandmother."
"Yeah, and the best of it all is Y/N's cooking skills." Sergio added. "Her cooking makes me forget my diet."
Dinah looks up to him with an amused expression "You're on a diet?" She looks at him up and down. "You don't need one though."
Troy smirked at Dinah. "Enjoying your seat Dinah?"
Dinah wiggled in her seat, on Sergio's lap. "It's very comfortable."
Camila glared at her. "China, get off of him." She mouthed to her best friend.
Dinah raised her hands in defeat. "Okay okay, take it easy. Your possessiveness is showing." She muttered quietly moving off from Sergio's lap.
You walked inside the room towards the kitchen with your sight straight, ignoring the people that is staring at you as you entered the room, except the twins. You opened the fridge and took out a carton of milk then moved on to the glasses turning them right side up.
"So, Y/N." Troy broke the silence. You hummed while pouring down the contents of the carton into the glass. "It's Halloween today, is there somewhere you'll be?"
You snorted. "If I could, I would've left to the Philippines already." You muttered coldly. "Instead, I would just lock myself inside the bunks, I hope you two won't disturb me." You informed, turning to your heels to exit the room.
Lauren cleared her throat, tilting her head while she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "If you don't have any plans for today, we're going out to have lunch with the other performers, why don't you.... come...with us..." Lauren slowly trailed off, staring at you as you exited the room without even looking at her.
The twins awkwardly looked at each other then back to Lauren. Troy gave Lauren a small smile. "Just give her time, She'll be talking to all of you in any moment."
Ally leaned her rear on the side of the counter, crossing her arms against her chest. "You two always say that, it's been like what? Two months?"
"Three and a half, actually." Camila spoke sadly, looking down to her hands.
"Is she really that...closed off to other people?" Normani asked.
"Y/N has a bit of trust issues, she do had a rough childhood." Troy said.
"If I may ask, why did Y/N grew up in the Philippines?" Lauren asked. "And her siblings didn't?"
Sergio look at his brother, staring at him like they're having conversation in their minds. Troy jot his head up to his brother. Sergio sigh. "You all do know Y/N has a different father right?"
The girls nodded.
Sergio scratched his head. "Well, after..uh..after her father died, her grandma took her into custody when Y/N was going through a posttraumatic situation, but since her mother didn't handle the situation correctly, it was best that Y/N should stay with her grandma."
Troy nodded. "It was a big issue around British and Philippine embassy, they were fighting over what citizenship Y/N should have, but because she's staying with her grandmother in the Philippines, it was decided that she becomes a Filipino citizen."
"She did went through a lot huh?" Dinah wondered.
"That was only a half of it, Dinah." Sergio told her. "Like I said, Y/N went through a lot when she was young."
Troy gave the girls a small smile. "Y/N went through a lot in her plate, but she would always ignore it because she's expecting someone to make it all better for her, even by just reassuring words was not a lot to ask but it's what was withheld from her."
"By who?" Camila asked.
"By her mother." Troy said bitterly. "It was not that hard to fight over someone if you are wiling to get them, but the way what her mother did was saying she's given up on Y/N."
Throughout all their discussion, you were just only leaning at the side of the doorframe from the opposite room, listening to them quietly from out of sight to check up on them. After hearing what Troy said, you remember everything that has happened throughout your childhood, only the negative ones, that is pretty much all of what you had in your childhood.
"Mama." You said over the phone. "I miss you, mama. When will you be able to get me here?" You asked her.
Three days after you arrived in the Philippines, you felt homesick, missing your friends knowing that you'll be staying there for who knows how long it'll be. You just learned you had a grandma a few days before she came to get you, but not knowing things about her makes you a bit uncomfortable around her.
"Someday baby." She said over the phone. "Someday I'll get you, but for now, spend sometime with your grandma."
"Okay..." You mumbled quietly. "But please hurry up."
"Yes, but I have to go now alright?"
"Okay."
"Bye, Y/N." She lastly stated before your hear the other line hang up.
You scoffed quietly, pushing yourself to stand straight. "Someday." You laugh bitterly continuing on to the bunks. "Someday never comes."
"Happy Halloween!" Numerous people shouted, clinks of glasses echoed around the room as they all raised their drinks in the air.
Troy sipped his drink, he could feel the burning line forming down in his throat. His one eye squinted from the strong liquid, setting down the small shot glass on the counter in front of him.
He coughed. "I'll never get used to that." He mumbled to his brother, looking around the room seeing multiple faces that he usually see's on tour.
Sergio nod his head in agreement. "Me too." He coughed. "It's just never the same when Y/N's not here though, it feels we're missing a piece of us, you know, we three are like three musketeers."
Troy laughed. "Yeah, we even played one when we were kids."
"Oh yeah, and we always watch Disney's three musketeers, I'm Donald, you're goofy and Y/N's mickey."
"You know, I still don't know why I was goofy" Troy questioned.
"The name practically says it all." His brother replied, earning a straight punch on the arms by Troy. He grunted. "But it's true."
Troy scanned the crowded room, his eyes landing on a small brunette that was looks uncomfortable to who she's talking to. He nudged his brothers arm, causing him to get his brothers attention.
Sergio looks at his brother next to him. "What?"
"Who's that guy?" Troy asked, nodding his head up towards the direction he's looking at.
Sergio looks over, his eyes making an annoyed expression. "Oh, that guy." He says plainly. "That's Austin Mahone, Camila's ex boyfriend. Who apparently cheated on her."
"Dang, how stupid of him." Troy exclaimed, taking a sip on the cola that was given to him. "How stupid is he to do that to Camila? I mean look at her, she's fun to be with, selfless and beautiful." Troy listed out. "I'd ask her out if I don't see her as a sister."
Sergio squinted his eyes at his brother, scrutinizing him. "Are you sure?"
"I'm sure, now don't look at me like I'm a threat." Troy told him, looking over again to Camila. "The threat you should be looking at is that guy with Camila. She's already making a move on her."
Sergio looked over to Camila, seeing her holding a shy smile while Austin took her hand on his own, intertwining them together. Sergio's lips fall, his breath were like being restrained by the ache in his chest. He watched Camila being pulled away by Austin in another direction. Sergio's brows narrowed, losing sight of Camila when Austin pulled her in into the sea of crowds.
Sergio felt his brother pat his back. "I feel bad for you." Troy said to him, pursing his lips to a tight line.
A grunt escaped your lips as you jumped down from the top of the bunks, falling down on your hands and feet catching you from the impact. You stood up and reached your hands up the bunk bed to get some of the candy wrappers and other trash that you'll be throwing away. You walked in to the kitchen, pulling the trash dispenser to see it already full.
You groaned, being the only day you'll get a rest from your work, you have to throw the trash as a chore. You tied a knot to seal the garbage bag shut and pulled it out of the dispenser. You opened the tour bus's doors and made your way towards the garbage cans just at the side of the bus, on the wall.
You bend you head forward as the howl of cold wind blew in your direction, making the loose fringe of your hair graze the top of your eyes. You dug your free hand inside your pockets feeling it getting cold while your other hand rolled into fist while holding the bag.
You pulled the lid up and toss it inside the can. "Come one dude, it's already bad that Austin cheated on her, why does he have do it." You stopped on your tracks when you hear a voice at the other bus at the opposite side of yours.
"Man up, Ryan. Austin's just going to take that Latina's innocence then we'll get the heck out of here." Another one replied.
You sneakily moved closer to the bus, leaning your side on the front of it as you looked over the edge, seeing two figures smoking under the cold dark night. The dim flame of their cigarette glowing in the dark enabling you to study a part of their faces.
"This is a bad idea Rob." The guy with pale skin, few red spots on his face, ginger hair says to his smaller companion next to him, that you now assume is Rob. "Austin forcing himself in another girl, that's considered as rape! What if someone finds out? We'll be spending our lives in jail. " The guy you assumed is Ryan whispered consciously to his friend.
"Nobody will know if you keep your mouth shut." Rob replied, scanning their surroundings as if someone might hear them, little did they know you already did. You backed up and lean your head back on the front of the bus, holding your breath so they won't notice you.
You retreated back quietly, your back grazing in the front of the bus, moving away towards yours. The tip of your shoes hit something, causing it to roll away creating noise that could tare the two guys attention to you.
"Who's there?!" You hear one of them shout.
You now pumped your legs and dashed from where you are all the way to your tour bus, you can feel your heart palpitating in your chest out of nervousness. Your ears picked up the sound of footsteps running to chase you, but unfortunate for them you're already inside the tour bus slamming the door shut.
You lean your forehead on the metal door, letting out a deep, shaky sigh as you breathed out the air you held in from the fast run your made, it was the fastest one you've ever did in the whole year of your existence.
"Where did that damn person go."
"We can't risk this Rob, they might report us."
You can hear their loud voices in the other side the door, trying to find where you could be, good thing they didn't see who you were. You pulled the lever and locked the metal door, backing away staring at it, fearing that they might open it to get you.
"There you are." Your body stiffened when you felt a hand on your shoulder.
Camila's eyes scanned the things around as she entered the private room, seeing numerous bottles of different liquors lining up the shelves stretching out on every corner. Only red neon lights lightened up the room, making it a little more darker than it was from the outside. She heard the door behind being closed causing her to look behind her.
Austin smiled at her, lifting his index finger and point towards the empty curved bar few meters away from them. "How about you take seat for a moment while I make some drinks." He told her.
Camila nods her head in understatement walking over to sit on the edge of it, fiddling with her hand as her eyes still explored the room she's in.
She was feeling nervous, before she even agreed to come with Austin, she hesitated for a moment finding it odd for him to just directly talk to her and apologize from what he's done.
But when Austin begged, Camila never wanted to see someone beg, she agreed to give him a chance again but only as friends and they can't go back from where they've left before.
Austin arrived with two medium glasses in hand and took a sit in front of her. He gave one to Camila, a strange smile forming on his lips. Camila shook her head, pushing the drink back to him.
"Come on, just take a small sip." Austin pushed it back to her.
"I can't, I'm sorry. I promised the girls after we left is that I won't drink." She explained.
Austin snorted. "A little sip won't make any difference, Camila, besides they won't know but us."
Camila sigh taking the drink off from Austin's hand and lift it closer to her lips. The smell of strong gin and something she doesn't pin point on what it is filled her nostrils.
You let out a deep scream, pushing away the hand off of your shoulders and back up flat against the wall. Sergio stared at you weirdly, along with the others behind him. Troy peeked over to the left side of his brothers shoulder and stared at you.
"We've been looking all over for you, where have you been Y/N?" Troy asked.
You licked your dry lips, letting out a sigh of relief. "The garbage dispenser was full so I took the trash out." You replied, walking past the twins.
Your eyes landed on the figures in front of you, finding that there was only the four of them. Troy leaned on the counter behind him, noticing you staring at the girls with a confused expression.
"Camila's still out, she's with some guy on the bar we've been to." He informed you.
You just nodded walking past the girls towards your room. "I just can't believe you girls let Camila go with that Austin guy." You hear Sergio complain, followed by a chair being dragged.
You paused in your tracks and swiftly turn your body around to face them. "Did you just say Austin?" You asked.
Sergio nods. "Well, yea-" Before he could even finish his words you dashed towards him placing your hands on his shoulders, making him surprised at your action. The girls gasped, not knowing what was happening, they moved closer to stop you if you might ever start a fight.
"Where did they go?!" You shake him furiously back and forth. You can feel your legs tingle as you anticipate to find out where Camila is.
"Take it easy, Y/N." Troy grabbed you by the arm, pulling away from his brother. "We left her at the bar we came from."
You shook away his arm on you. You let go of Sergio and look over to Troy. "Where is it?" You asked.
"Why are you even ask-" You cut off Troy by grabbing his jacket.
"Where the f**k is it Troy?!"
"At Ricko's Bar." He answered. "Just two blocks from here. What's wrong Y-" You let go off Troy and run out of the tour bus.
You pumped your legs as fast as you could, running down the sidewalk while your eyes scanned up the neon signs of the stalls lining up the streets. You can feel the muscle of your legs tensing up, almost at its limits. I'm running out of shape.
"Y/N!" You look behind to see the twins running up to you while the girls trailed behind them. "What the f**k are you trying to do?!" Troy yelled from behind.
Your lips parted, loud breaths escaped your lips as your feet came landing down the cement. "I'm trying to save Camila for godsakes!" You now tried to swallow in your breathing, finding your lungs slowly running out of its capacity.
"What do you mean?!" This time Lauren shouted from the very back as they all started to chase you.
You let out a sigh of relief seeing Ricko's Bar a few meters away from you. You disregarded its closed sign and banged the door loudly for someone to open it.
The dark wooden double doors creaked open, a familiar looking figure greeted you in the middle of the doorway. You glared at him then connected your fist on his face and tackled him on the ground. You wrapped your hand around his neck pushing his head back down to the cold tiles.
"Where is she you fucker?!" You screamed at him, putting pressure on your hands feeling his neck bone under his skin.
He grunted pushing your hand away with his two hands that is wrapped around your forearm. But slowly weakening out from loss of breath, he cannot manage to remove them.
Troy wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you away from him while Sergio pushed Rob back down again and held him there as he waited for you to gather yourself.
"Hold on a minute Y/N!" Troy yelled at you, causing you to stop thrashing around to look at him. "What the f**k is wrong with you?! You can't just barged into a closed bar and knock the air out of a random person!"
The girls came rushing in inside the empty bar, catching their breaths as they watch the interaction in front of them. You pushed Troy's arm away and stretched your arms to point at Rob.
"That son of a b***h isn't just a random person!" You glared at Rob. "That's one of Austin's friend, I heard them talking behind the tech crew's bus, about Austin planning to force himself in Camila!"
Your chest rise and fall heavily, looking up the stairs finding a sign leading up to some of the private rooms of the bar. You flail your arm to remove Troy's grip from you and run up to the stairs. "Find Camila in every closed doors you see, she's still here, don't stop if you still haven't found her!" You yelled at them, running down the hallway full of doors twisting the knob open to search the room.
Camila hear the glass faintly click when the tip of her teeth hit the rim of it. She tilt her head up, the liquid slowly pouring down towards her lips. Austin eyed her carefully, his legs bouncing up and down in suspense, slowly getting agitated that it was taking too long for Camila to drink.
"I'm sorry but I can't." Camila pulled the glass away and set the drink down on the table.
Austin smiled at her, hiding his rage behind his relaxed expression. "Just take a sip Camila, I really worked hard to make it for you and you don't want to drink it? You're hurting my feelings." Austin stood up from his seat taking the glass from the table and pushing it closer to Camila's lips.
Camila felt a weird change on Austin's behavior, she stood up and backed away slowly, with Austin moving closer to her. "Just drink it Camila." Austin clasped his hand around Camilla's wrist, holding it tightly when Camila tries to pull it away.
Camila whimpered. "Let go, Austin. You're hurting me."
Austin pulled her closer to his body, pushing the glass closer to her lips. "Drink!" He shouted at her.
Finding herself at a tough situation, Camila did the only thing she knew about self defense, and she's not regretting on doing it. Camila kneed Austin on the croch. Camila pulled her wrist from Austin's grip when she felt it weaken before sprinting out to the door and escaped the room.
"Camila!" The hair of Camila's back stood up when she heard Austin's loud voice calling her name, followed by footsteps getting closer to her direction.
Camila runs down the hallways and took turns in every intersections, how was it possible that a while ago when she wasn't in the situation, the halls were fewer when she passed by them. Camila ducked her head when she heard Austin shout for her name again. She took a sharp turn on the left and lean on the wall, peeking on the edge to check on if she was still being followed by Austin.
Seeing the coast is clear she let out a relief sigh, stepping back slowly hoping that Austin won't hear her footstep.
"Camila.."
"Get away you demon!" Camila screeched, placing hands on her head as an instinct, closing her eyes. A few seconds passed when nothing happened Camila opened her eyes again and see's you staring at her with a unreadable expression.
"Y/N!" Camila sigh loudly, happy to see you. Her brows scrunched. "What are you doing here though?"
"What am I doing here?" You looked at her in disbelief. "I've run all the way from the venue to save my best friend and that's what I get? To be called a demon and be questioned of What am I doing here?"
"Take it easy, I was just asking. What did you expect me to do?" Camila muttered raising her arms in defense.
You scoffed. "I don't know, maybe you jumping into my arms asking for help like a normal best friend would react if she see's her other best friend risking their lives to save them."
"Help!" Camila lunged at you, taking you in by surprise, and wrapped her arms around you tightly. You can feel the collar of your shirt strangling your neck as Camila tightens her arms around them.
"What are you doing?!"
Camila pulled away, stepping back to look at you. "Like what you said, jumping in your arms asking for help."
"You call that asking for help?" You pulled your collar down and rubbed your neck soothingly. Camila nodded. "It felt like being charged by a bull."
"You're so mean!" Camila gasped hitting you lightly on the side, then wrapped her arms around your neck, this time, softly. "I missed you." She mumbled.
You wrapped your arms around her waist and leaned down, burying your head on the arch between her head and shoulders. "I missed you too, Monkey."
You tightened your arm around the back of Camila's shoulder as you guide her carefully down the stairs. Your eyes landed on the twins, talking to a police officer while Rob and another guy, who you assume now is Austin, are being held by two officers with their wrist cuffed.
The girls that were sitting down individually on the chairs by the round table waited with tired eyes. Ally raised her head up and saw the two of you descending down the stairs, her eyes widened, a loud sigh rolling out of her lips.
"Camila!" She stood up on her seat, causing the girls to look and the twins head turn to look at the two of you, along with the officers and two suspects.
Camila pulled away from your arm and sprinted towards her band mates. The girls hurriedly stood up from their seat and greeted Camila with a warm embrace.
Dinah held her by the shoulders and scanned her from head to toe. "Did anything happen to you?! Did he hurt you?! Did he do-"
"Take it easy Dinah." Normani interrupted her, nudging her on the sides. "You can clearly see nothing happened to her."
"I'm just making sure." Dinah countered looking back.
You watched the interaction in front of you with amused expression, slowly watching their conversation turning into throwing banters. Troy moved next to you, digging his hand in his pockets as he watch the girls while his brother went straight.
"You know, after what you acted, I'm almost convinced that you're in love with Camila." Troy lightly bumped his shoulder against yours.
You chuckled at him. "What made you think that I don't?"
Troy tilted his head to the side, pointing towards the girls. His brother approached Camila, pulling her against his chest for a warm embrace.
Sergio rests his jaw on top of Camila's head, circling his hand around Camila's back soothingly.
"I'm so glad you're okay." He mumbled. Camila's cheeks heated up, snuggling closer into Sergio's arms. "I'm sorry.."
Camila pulled away, but still withing Sergio's arms and looks up at him. "For what?"
Sergio averted his gaze away from Camila's orbs. "That I wasn't the one who sav-."
Camila vigorously shook her head. "No, you didn't know about it Sergio." She moved back intro his arms again. "So don't ever apologize for that, it's not your fault. You helped me enough for being here."
Sergio tightened his arm around Camila, afraid that she might pull away.
"If you did, you would be the one doing that in front of all these people." Troy chuckled.
You laughed as well, reaching your hand to place it on Troy's head and messed with his hair. A tired sigh escaped your lips, looking around the room, hearing sirens echo while red and blue lights flashing on the ceilings. You ended the day fixing things up with Camila and a bit from the girls. Oh, and two person going straight to jail.
