Chapter 2

7246 Words
The days passed by painstakingly for you, making songs for the album, meetings with the band and your manager, Christina, and getting ready for the Fifth Harmony's tour. Two weeks after the mini fiasco things at the Waffle House, You tried your hardest to avoid the girls, mostly the green eyes goddess giving you an unknown sensation in your stomach when you see her. You paused on your tracks, goddess? You thought to yourself. Did I just call her a goddess?. "Y-YN!" Troy looked over his shoulders, sweat forming on his temples as a tired sigh escaping his lips. "Would you stop thinking for a moment and move your ass, I'm going to die in any minute." He breathlessly stated, pushing the 10 stacked up chairs leaning against his back while you lift it by its two legs from the back. Since the three of you finished setting your bags in the tour bus, too much to your persistence when you were the first to find out that your band will be sharing a bus with the girls, you pushed the twins to be early enough so you won't have to face them. After finishing fixing your things, people started arriving to set things up for the road. The twins offered a hand to help the tech crew and still insisted when they disagreed. You gave a devilish smirk as the two of you continued on to your destination. "Don't complain now, Troy. It was your guys idea to help." You told him. "Its just a stack of chairs, it's not like you never lift four sacks of soil back at home." Troy pushed the chairs up to fix it on his back. "I'm not complaining that it's heavy, I'm complaining that you stopped." "Whatever." "Anyways, you're a bit out of focus lately." He says. Arriving at your destination, the both of you set the chairs down next to some cases and equipments outside the workers bus. Troy grunted, stretching his back straight as the heavy weight left his body. "Is it because of the whole...ordeal at the Waffle House?" "No." You replied disinterested. "Why would things like that affect me." You lied. Troy eyed you carefully . "Mhm, if you say so." He shrugged. You gazed outside the window, watching cars the tour bus passed by as it heads towards the first venue where the very first concert are being held. Deep orange light reflected in your eyes while staring at the red sun sinking in the mountains, dim round headlights of the cars lighting up the soon to be dark road giving you a comfortable feeling when going for a long ride. You discreetly lowered the volume of your phone, the sound of your relaxing playlist fading slowly. Chin on the palm of your hand while your elbows propped on the arm rest of the side couch you're sitting on, you glanced to the side to check up on the twins while they play with the girls. They were all laughing at something you don't know, but you don't care. You gaze back out the window again but felt the ear plugs you're wearing being pulled off. You turn your head towards Sergio, your eyes caught multiple heads looking towards you. You look at him right in the eyes and cleared a throat in your rolled up hand. "What?" You asked, slightly getting uncomfortable under the amount of stares you're getting. "The girls asked if you wanted to join." Sergio gave a small smile. You eyes scanned the five girls. "Uhh..what're you all even doing?" You asked, having a little feeling that joining is going to be a bad idea. "We're just having a little bit of story telling." Camila replied, smiling at you. "How about you, you got a*********s?" Out of your knowledge, the girls had a plan, since you don't want to talk to them, they'll do everything to make you talk and maybe hoping that you'll tell them something about yourself. You shrugged. "I don't think I have some good stories to tell." You say uninterested. "Sergio here knows some legends and myths about our hometown, maybe he could tell you all about it." You suggested, nudging Sergio by the arm. The girls on the couch in front of you turn their heads towards him, interested on hearing all about it. "Really?" Dinah asked. "Yeah, every city in the Philippines have their own stories." Troy, sitting beside Sergio on the other side, answers for his brother. "Tell us." Camila made herself comfortable in her seat, intrigued at the story that is about to be told. "Okay okay, I'll tell you the story about the disappearance of Serge Van Torres " Sergio begins to tell. You rolled your eyes and internally groaned, you hated that story. "Serge Van Torres was very kind man back in the old days, people looked up to him. He was wealthy, his house was perched at the top of the mountain so the whole town can see him, people loved watching it, by day the house was very warm and welcoming and at night the yellow lights were radiant, glowing bright as it give the people a feeling of hope in every darkest of time. Serge wasn't a selfish man, knowing that the people cannot afford to have electricity on their own, he considered his house to be the light for the people who struggled at the darkest of night from their everyday lives. One day, the people was startled when American soldiers invaded the town, carrying guns, explosive materials and other dangerous heavy armories. The soldiers were setting up base, temporary cabins, a shed for the armories and vehicles that are being used to the ongoing war that was happening all around the countries. The people got scared, knowing that they could be in danger, that what if the enemies decided to ambush their camp, the people can be most likely to be exposed by the fight. One concerned individual run up to the top of the mountains and told Serge what was happening at the bottom. Serge went down from his home and talked with the American's, asking them to leave, but the Americans wouldn't. Then the people feared of happening came true, there were raining bullets in every corner of the place, exchanges of explosives between Americans and the Japanese soldiers. The people were scared, frightened that their family or friends might get shot or worst, die. Every minutes passed numbers of American soldiers decreases to the point where Japanese soldiers took over the town and turned every civilians as their slaves. Every day people suffered from the hands of the Japanese soldiers, but one man didn't give up. Serge escaped from behind enemy lines, risked his life to get to the main land to the other Americans so they could save the people back in town, even if in the progress he received an amount of bullets that could kill him. Cutting the story short, the American's saved the town from the Japanese and thanked Serge for his bravery of risking his life to save the many. The next day, people arrived at Serge's house to surprise him but was met with a very bad news. Serge's home was deserted, no furniture's and any other house accessories can be found, and most especially, Serge Van Torres disappeared without a trace." Sergio ends the story. "Was he dead?" Camila asked, as her band mates listened closely and waited for the answer. "Nobody knew. Some people said that he was dead but his body was never even found, some people still believed that he was still alive and forever indebted from his perseverance and bravery." Troy answered. "Interesting story." Lauren said. "The world need more people like Serge." "Serge. A very familiar name." Dinah grins at Sergio. Sergio chuckles. "I thought no one would notice." "Notice what?" Normani asked. "The name Serge, was the inspiration why my mother named me Sergio." Sergio explained. "Ohhhh." The girls choired at the realization. "I thought you're named after the fourth president of the Philippines?" Troy chimed in. "Shut up, Troy." "Are you sure you never made it up?" Lauren eyed Sergio. "What? No." Sergio denies. "Y/N's grandma told us that when we were kids." "You met Brad's grandmother?" Lauren asked. You silently huffed, but she noticed it and arched a brow at you. Sergio shook his head. "No, grandma Y/L/N. Y/N's grandmother on her father's side of the family." "Father's side of the family..." Ally whispers, thinking to herself. Troy's brows scrunched up, carefully looking at Ally as she struggles to sit properly on the couch she and her band mates all occupied. "Uhh.. Ally.." Troy shyly scratched the back of his neck. "Yes, Troy?" Troy pats the empty seat beside him. "You can sit here if you want, don't make it harder for yourself." He grinned. "Yeah, Ally. Why don't you go seat beside Troy." Dinah wiggled her eyebrows. The other girls agreed. "Why? You girls don't want me here?" Dinah shook her head. "No, walz's big butt already occupied a lot of space in the couch." "Hey!" Camila glared. "Alright, alright." Ally stood up and move to sit next to Troy, giving him a thankful smile. "Anyways, it's just a myth. There's no house perched on top of the mountains at our hometown, just the farm we're working on." Sergio debunked the story. "Bummer." Camila frowned. "I already like Serge, maybe someday I could be like him, you know. Kind, selfless and brave." You scoffed, crossing your arms against your chest. "Then what? You're going to disappear too without a trace?" The twins whipped their heads towards you, shaking their heads with a glare, signaling you to shut up. "You're going to follow the footstep of someone that leaves people behind, I think that's very pathetic of you." "Oh no." Troy mumbled disappointedly, dragging his palm down to his face. "Here we go again." Camila's eyes watered, her chest tightening from your sharp words as if her heart couldn't take it anymore and dropped down from her chest then crashing like little bit of pieces. "Alright that's it!" Dinah jumped from her seat and grabbed you by the collar pulling you up on your feet. "We tried understanding you but why you such a b***h?" The others begin to panic. Normani laced her arm around Dinah's, pulling her away from you. Troy twists his arms around the both of yours, pulling you as well away from Dinah while his brother tried to squeeze in from the center to give you both some space. "Dinah, stop." Ally said, frustratingly raking her hand through her blonde hair. Dinah lift her hand up and about to throw a punch square on your face but a palm wrapped itself around Dinah's hand, stopping it before it could collide in your face. "Stop it now, Dinah." Lauren shoots you a glare. "A person like her isn't even worth an energy." Dinah pushed you back, letting go of your shirt before approaching her best friend. Camila buried her head on Dinah's chest, sobbing loudly. The girls looked at you, even the twins, staring at your face as you watch the two like nothing bad happened. Sergio opened his mouth. "Y/N, apologize now." "Why?" Troy groaned. "Look at what you did, Y/N. You really took it too far." You clicked a tongue. "I was just saying what's on my mind, Troy." You turn your head towards Sergio. "And the two of you know me well that I don't beat around the bush." You covered your mouth as you yawn. You dig your hands inside your pockets, looking at the two with droopy eyes. "I'm gonna go and hit the sack, good night." You stated boringly, walking past the girls without even giving them a last glance before entering the door to the bunks. Normani glared at the twins." And you said she was a great person." She hissed, making the girls turn their head towards the two. Troy remained staring at the door you disappeared into. "She is." He says confidently, pressing his lips to a tight line. "She's just having trouble on showing it." "Give it all to, Aim High!" You and the twins jumped on and dashed towards the front of the stage, making the crowds go wild at every second you get closer. You head on at the middle and sat on the tall chair that was sorted for you to sit on to face the crowd. Troy was positioned on the left, sitting down at a chair as his hand glides on the piano in front of it, while Sergio set himself down to play the drums, he played with the stick, twirling it on his hand using his fingers. Troy moved his lips closer to the mic in front of him. "Ready to get it started?!" He yelled on to the mic. The crowds shouted, chanting your bands name and as well as each of your name. Sergio cleared a throat and took a hold of his mic. "Before we start, we just wanted to thank you guys for supporting our recently released EP. I mean, seriously, it's been two weeks yet it's still No.1 on the charts!" The crowd roared. You placed your microphone under your lips. "Thank you very much guys, not only that you're helping us with our music but you guys as well are helping us rebuild our hometown." You gave them a tight smile, moving the mic again to your lap. "Without further ado, we'll give you guys a new song you deserve!" Troy raised his rolled fist in the air before positioning it on the keyboard. Troy's fingers pressed a specific chord that is fit for the song you'll play. The tune of the piano imitating the sound of a deep cello invaded your ears. You closed your eyes, ghosting your lips on the microphone you're holding against your mouth. I need another story Something to get off my chest My life gets kinda boring Need something that I can confess You sung the first verse, your voice lacing with emotions, making the crowd feel as if they know what you're feeling just by listening. Til' all my sleeves are stained red From all the truth that I've said Come by it honestly I swear Thought you saw me wink, no I've been on the brink, so Tell me what you want to hear! The crowds roared when you stood up from your seat and Sergio banged the drums as you start to sing the beginning of the chorus. Something that will light those ears. Sick of all the insincere. I'm gonna give all my secrets away. The twins bobbed their heads at your amazing voice. Troy's lips stretched to a warm smile, staring at you performing on the stage like you've done it before. The deep discussion you two had when you both composed the song are still fresh in his mind. "I think this is done." Troy stated, turning his attention to you. "This is a very sentimental song we've worked on." He grinned. "What's your inspiration?." You turn the page over to start a new one, your pencil begin to scribble down words on the paper. "I grew up believing that I've done nothing good in life, that the only purpose I was born is to feel as if I'm a failure and that I'm not good enough." Troy's eyes lowered, biting his lip. "If you thought things like that, why did you agreed on doing this?" He asked in a deep small tone. "What made your mind change?" "You, Sergio and Simon. You three believed in me, believed that I could do so much better in life. You all believed me when I couldn't even believe myself." Your lips curved to the side, forming a small, hidden smile as your pencil swirled on the center of the paper. "That's why I agreed on doing this, I've been afraid of showing myself for so long and lived simple that I never even imagined how amazing I could be, I wanted to show the real me, no more excuses, just give all my secret away." This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics ever jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away Troy leaned over to his mic. His gaze locked down on the piano, making sure that he's pressing the right keys. [Troy.] My God, amazing how we got this far It's like we're chasing all those stars Who's driving shiny big black cars And everyday I see the news All the problems that we could solve And when a situation rises Just write it into an album Send it straight to gold I don't really like my flow, no, so Sergio leaned his torso over, his lips closer to the mic. He's hand moved in front of him hitting the right sets of the drum and his foot bounced to beat the bass. [Sergio.] Tell me what you want to hear Something that are like those years Sick of all the insincere I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away You walked forward and stand at the edge of the stage, watching the sea of crowds with their arms raised as they are waving it side to side. You closed your eyes singing your heart out to the song. [You.] Oh, got no reason, got no shame Got no family I can't blame Just don't let me disappear I'mma tell you everything Meanwhile from back stage, the girls were standing there the whole time watching you perform on stage, they won't deny, they feel the emotion pouring out from your heart. They were still mad at you, but it doesn't mean that they hate you, they just didn't like what you did to Camila. "They're amazing guys." Normani stated, watching you as you reached your hand out to the crowd. Her band mates agreed, nodding their heads. "They haven't done this before right?" Dinah asked. "According to Simon, No they haven't." Ally answered. Something caught Lauren's attention, she looks down to see her best friend, Camila, her body swaying from side to side, her eyes closed listening to your voice closely. Lauren nudged her. Camila turns to her friend. "What?" "You're quite enjoying yourself huh." Lauren asked. Camila nods her head. "You aren't mad anymore?" "I wasn't even mad." Camila stared down to the floor. "I was just hurt from what she'd said." Lauren nodded, wrapping her arm around her friends shoulder and rubbing her arms reassuringly. Lauren turns her attention back to you. She was still curious, Brad never mentioned you to her before, and why you looked so furious when they mentioned him to you. You were mysterious, you held secrets, and she wanted to know every single of it. [All.] So tell me what you want to hear Something that delight those ears Sick of all the insincere I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics ever jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away All my secrets away, all my secrets away. "So I was one of the crowds at Fifth Harmony's concert last week, and I'll say you three were so amazing back there." Chelsea Briggs exclaimed. "And the song, ugh, perfect" The three of you smiled at her, at least you tried to. After the Syco records announced that a new band is coming into town and your band released your EP, many shows lined up to have the chance to interview your band, and Hollywire was the first one to be picked by the label. Before you and your band was even set up for the interview, Christine called in for a couple minutes to talk. She wanted you to expect that people are still aware and wanted you to confirm if Brad had said last month at his bands interview were true, if you were his sister. She warned that maybe Chelsea might ask other things relating to your private life. "Thank you, Chelsea." Troy gave her his signature adorable smile. "I wished I saw you there, I would've dedicated a song for you." Chelsea giggled, a tint of redness appearing on her cheeks, falling for a trap that Troy used to get a girl he likes. Speaking of it, you heard he likes her before we even got recognized. Sergio turns towards his brother and snorted. "Don't be deceived by his looks, Chelsea." "Don't worry." Chelsea waved her hand, giggling. She looks at Troy. "Sorry, Troy. I'm taken." The few people that are watching laughed, Sergio did as well. Troy scratched his head bashfully, his neck going red from embarrassment. "Okay, since we're talking about being taken, I'm going to ask a question." Chelsea held up a card in her hands. "Everyone wants to know, who's single and who's taken, raise your hands if you are." The three of you looked at each other, it was very clear that the three of are very lonely. Chelsea smirked at the camera. "There you go Aim High fans, these three a very much on the market." She moved on to the next card. "Next one is, who's your celebrity crush. First one, Sergio." Sergio squints his eyes, thinking for a moment. "Selena Gomez." "Troy?" "Perrie Edwards." Troy smiled brightly. "How about you, Y/N?" A certain green eyes invaded your mind, slightly startling you. "Lauren." You blurted out in a low voice, but Chelsea seemed to catch it. Chelsea's eyes widened, surprised. "Lauren?" She eyed you closely. "Is it Lauren Jauregui from Fifth Harmony?" You coughed, your heart beating fast in your chest. "N-no." You shook your head, trying your best not to panic. "Lauren Reid, she's the a - uh.. sister of a good actor from the Philippines." The twins looked at each other with a smirk on their faces, they know you're lying, you knew Lauren Reid but you never knew what she looked like. The two picked up on that you're attractive to Lauren from Fifth Harmony, they even caught you staring at her. "Alright, last question for the three of you. " Chelsea flipped the cards and scanned it over. "Why did you name your band Aim High." Sergio was the first to answer. "I know it can be an odd name for a band but, the three of us is very familiar of working hard on things that we want to get." Troy nods, agreeing. "We intend to do things that could help others or ourselves and goals that we needed to achieve." "And basically, our band is formed to not only inspire people, we were as well formed of aiming to help our friends back in our hometown and to become the best versions of ourselves." You finished, speaking truthfully making the crowd inspired. "You three are really compassionate." Chelsea smiled. She looks down on the cards in her hands and flipped another one. "This here is a question many people demanded." She announced. "And this question is for you, Y/N." There it is, You thought. Keep calm and answer. "Y/N Y/L/N, is Brad Simpson from the Vamps, really is your brother?" Chelsea dropped the question. The crowd stood silent. The twins eyeing you. All waiting for your answer. You sigh deeply, closing your eyes. "Yes." You proclaimed, opening them again to scan the room. You hear small whispers, few shutter lights turns to many, crews and workers had a surprised look on their faces. "Brad is my brother from the same mother." You clarified. The whispers got louder and some people looked at you sympathetically. Chelsea gave a sad smile, knowing that asking you further question might affect you, so she'll stop it right here. "Thank you Aim High for coming to the show." "Thank you as well." The three of you choired. "Give it again everyone for Aim High!" You lied your back on the comfortable cushion of your bed, staring up at the dull white ceiling of the room you picked in the hotel suite that the organizers paid for your band and the girls to share. Laughter's from the living room echoed in the hallways entering the room you picked. Thinking about it, you never even asked if who's going to be your room mate, you can't ask the twins since you already knew they'll be sharing rooms together, and it only comes up to who of all five girls will be your room mate. You groaned. Dinah won't want to be in the same room with you, even Camila. How about Normani or Ally, or worst, Lauren. Your breath hitched, licking your lips as you thought about Lauren being your room mate. You suddenly got nervous, you can't even control what the hell you're even feeling just being with her for a second, how much more if you're both in the same room, alone. Laughter's outside died down. You hear several doors being shut closed but what stand out the most was the footsteps getting near your room. You moved to your side, your back turning towards the door as you hid your face under the covers that is wrapped around your body. Your heart beating in your ears got louder when the door opened. You hear the person enter the room and closed the door behind them. "Y/N..." You let out a shaky breath that you didn't even notice you held in. You closed your eyes, when you hear Ally called your name again, and pretended to be asleep. You didn't want to face her. Soon enough, the lights goes off and you hear shuffling behind you. Ally must be getting ready for bed. You stood there, at the corner of the room with you head down. You felt embarrassed, you messed up, you let your parents down again. Everybody around the room whispered to the person next to them giving you a disapproving and dirty looks. A shadow loomed over your small frame. You look up to your stepfather's disappointed face. He huffed, staring you down like you're a lost dirt in a pristine room. You look over to your mother, she held her head down, nursing a curly haired boy without giving a spare glance at you. "I'm sorry." You mumbled in your small voice, looking up to face your stepfather. He gave you a bitter laugh. "What could I expect, you're not even my daughter, you're a failure." He sneered turning around and walked away. The people followed him out the room. Leaving you as tears flowed down like a river from your eyes. The door slammed shut, two figures remained, standing still in the room watching you. Your mother approached you, feeling a little relived as you expect her to comfort you. Your mother stopped in front of you, your face rising for a relief smile. "Why couldn't you be more like your brother." She shook her head, clearly disappointed. "Do you think it'll be easy for me to make up an excuse from your stepfather." She said before turning around to exit the room. Your lips slowly fell down. More tears flowed down from your cheeks, feeling as if your heart is being trampled on, the pain in your chest felt unbearable. Your knees slowly beginning to weaken, your body sliding down the cold marble, burying your face in your hands. Brad's eyes followed her mothers figure, stepping outside and slamming the door shut. He shoots you a glare. "You're useless, Y/N. No wonder people liked me more." "I said, I - I'm sorry." You sniffle. You body jolt as you hear the door slammed again. "I'm s-sorry. I'm sorry!. I'm sorry!" "I'm sorry!" "Y/N!" Your eyelids flew opened. Sweat covered your body like a blanket, your mouth opened with heavy breaths. You scanned the room, your eyes landing on the figures standing by the door of you room, watching you with their eyes widely open. The twins looked more worried than the rest. "It's okay, Y/N." Ally whispered within your arms, her hand rubbing your back soothingly. "It's just a nightmare." You shot back, unwrapping your hands around Ally and stared at her dumbfounded, after finding yourself embracing her, your was chin buried on the arch between her jaw and shoulder. Ally places her hands in your cheeks, her eyes scanning your features closely. Ally turns to the door. "Someone her get a water, please. She's really pale." Troy nodded before running down the hallway. The rest entered the room, sitting on the empty bed while Ally crossed her legs on your bed, sitting in front of you. "Are you okay?" Camila asked. You avoided her eyes, looking away outside the window, nodding your head as an answer. Wondering why they're even in the room when they were mad at you . Troy entered the room, handing you a glass of lukewarm water. You mumbled a thank you before chugging down the water, washing your dry throat. "Wanna talk about your nightmare?" Lauren asked, staring closely at the side of your face while you somehow took an interest looking outside the window. "I could, but I didn't have a nightmare." You mumbled, absentmindedly looking out the window. "It's just some childhood memories." Your small knife sliced easily through the pancake you're eating, like scissor cutting through paper. Morning came very slowly for you, after the twins and the girls left your room, you haven't closed an eye ever since, even while the sleepy atmosphere radiating from the dark hallways didn't get to you. Plates neatly lined in on the vacant island table, that Troy kindly set up for the -still asleep, girls while his brother, Sergio, took charge of the kitchen, cooking pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast. You watched the two from one of the seat by the island table, eating your own breakfast that was nicely made by chef Sergio. "I noticed that you two really got closer to them, aren't you?" You asked while chewing your food. Troy blew his lips. "That's all you noticed?" "As well as." You raise your nose, sniffing the air, making the twins look at you weirdly. "Infatuation, damnit guys. I can smell infatuation." You stated, pointing your small knife at the both of them. "No we aren't." The twins choired, but you know them well that if they say the same word together, they're lying. "I knew it!" You exclaimed. "I f*****g knew it, who? who from the five?" You teased. "Don't act like you're not crushing on one of the girls either." Troy gave you a smug smile, leaning on the island in front of you with one of his elbows. You snorted. "How could I? I don't even know any of them." You denied. "They may be friends for the two of you yet they're still a work mate for me." You stated. "Who is she, Troy?" You teased. "Camila? Normani?" Troy remained unaffected after naming the two, you don't know why but you're avoiding to say a certain name. "Dinah? Ally?" A devilish smirk appeared on your lips, seeing Troy's ears reddened from the last name you announced. You crossed your arms on the table. "So, Ally?" "Yes?" Your quickly moved your arms to our lap and look down to your plate with unfinished food, seeing Ally enter the kitchen with her band mates in tow, refreshed and make up ready. Ally sauntered towards you, sitting on the empty seat beside you while the others took their own seats, excitement radiating from her. "You called me, Y/N?" She gave you a warm smile. You shook your head. "No." You lied cooly. "I didn't say anything, right guys?" You turn towards the twins, arching a brow at them hoping that they get the signal. Troy smirked. "Actually she called you, Ally." He said, stifling a laugh. Oh no he didn't. Ally gave you a confused look, wondering why you lied on calling her. "I'm sorry." You shyly scratched your head. "To be honest, I called you because, Troy here." You pointed to the doofus. Troy squints his eyes at you, shaking his head for a don't. "Got something to confess." Sergio laughed at his brother. Troy glared at him then shoots a glare at you the same. Ally turns her attention to Troy. "What is it?" You leaned your torso back from Ally's line of sight. "And Y/N, backfires."You mouthed to Troy. "Girls." Dinah called while munching on her food. "Where's Camila?" Lauren looked up from eating her plate. "I thought she was following us?" Normani hummed. "Me too." "Well somebody call her." Dinah demanded. Ally glared at her. "Please." Dinah kindly added. Lauren was about to stand up from her seat but you stopped her. "No." You told her. "I'm already done eating, I'll call her for you." You stood up from your seat and nonchalantly exited the room avoiding the stares following you as you continued on to find the small latina who you owed an apology for. Camila's hand grazed the piano in front of her. Her fingers adding pressure on the keys, the specific chords making the melody bounce on the walls and echo inside the room. You walked past the room Camila's in, but abruptly paused on your tracks when you hear muffled music in the room you thought was empty. You slowly paced towards the music room, carefully pushing the slightly open door wider. You stare at Camila's figure, her back facing you as she played with the piano before her. Your ears picking up some of the words she's singing. Do we make this go back, Is it even worth fighting. You stepped inside the room, walking closer towards Camila. "Hey..." You called from halfway in the room. Camila looked over from her shoulders, then stopped playing the piano and brought her hands to her lap without even replying to you. I deserve that, you thought. You stood by just beside her, staring down at her as she fiddled with her fingers. You nervously scratched the back of your neck. "Can we talk?" You asked. The brunette nodded her head, scooting to the side letting you sit next to her. You awkwardly cleared your throat, staring at the white and black keys in front of you. "I'm sorry." You mumbled turning your head towards Camila, finding that she's already staring back. You averted your gaze past her. "I'm sorry about what happened weeks ago, Camila." Camila pursed her lips into a tight line and shook her head. "It's fine." She looks down on the piano. "I already forgot about it" "But still," You shook your head. "I should've never said those words to you." You placed you hand above the keys, lightly sliding your index finger across it. "What you said back then, you don't have to be like Serge, you know." Camila turns to you with a furrowed brow. "Why? I like him." "Do you want to what really happened to him?" You asked. "I thought that's where the story ended, when he disappeared." Camila said. You shook you head, staring forward as you begin to continue the story when your grandma only told you when the twins left after the story telling session when you were kids. "I guess the lesson here is that be kind to others, never be selfish and be brave for it will be one of the keys where people begin to trust and admire you." Your grandmother lectured. The old clock loudly ring around the house, signaling all that it's already midnight. A yawn escaped Sergio's mouth, his eyes begun to get droopy while his brother tried blinked the sleepiness away. Your grandmother laughed at the sight. "Sergio, Troy. Go home, your parents might be looking for the two of you already." Your grandma reminded. Sergio pushed his body to stand up and nudged his brother using his foot to wake him up. Troy's tired eyes flew open, he looks up to his brother. "What?" "Come on, let's go home before we get locked out of the house." Troy sluggishly stood up from his lying position, his arms flailing weakly. "We're gonna go now, Grandma Y/L/N." Your grandma nodded. "Okay, but be careful outside alright?" The twins nod their heads. You jumped down from the arm rest of the single chair your grandmother always sat on. Your eyes following the two small figures descending out the living room and towards the hallway. You looked at your grandma when you heard the front door close. "Grandma." She hummed. "But why does Serge have to leave? Do you always leave people who begins to put their trust on you?" Your grandmother laughed. "No, Y/N. you don't understand." She placed a hand on top of your head, gently sliding it down and repeating it again. "Serge is a brave man but he was not perfect." "What do you mean, grandma?" Your grandma pulled you up and placed you down on the side of her lap. "Let me tell you a secret that I've never told anyone." She whispered. You grew curious on what was the secret. "Serge Van Torres was my uncle." She winked. Your brows raised, surprised. "So that does mean I'm related to him?" Your grandma nods. "Let me ask you, Y/N. From the story, how many people have been to his house?" She asked. Your eyes rolled to the side on instinct, trying to remember it. "Just one." You answered. "In the story, the man never described how his house looks like from the inside." Your grandma begins to say. "When the people arrived at Serge house, it looks as if he disappeared but the truth is, his house was always been that empty from the start." "Serge was a wealthy man, but wealth doesn't always last forever. You see, when the people found out, he was scared, he felt insecure on what people would think of him, so he left, he pretended that he left when the truth is he's always been with them." "Why would he even thought about that?" "I told you, he was a brave man but not perfect." Your grandma repeated. "Dear, no matter how much good you've always done in life, society will always change its opinion of you in every little reasons." "Myths are always used as stories to teach every children a lesson." You mumbled. "Kids at our hometown grew up learning how to be Serge, when they could already be the best they can be." You paused, licking your lips. "When you said you wanted to be Serge, I know I flipped off on you but, why would you want to be like someone when people already liked you for who you were, you know." You shrugged. "I don't know... It's just that, Serge had some traits that I don't have, and I wanted it, I mean, look at me." She points her hand to herself. "I'm a coward, not like Serge who's confident enough and brave." "Let's just say you have all his traits, but it'll still be useless." "Why?" She looks at you, confused. "Serge forgot to be himself when he felt insecure, he was brave but cowered when he got insecure at himself." You looked at her. "Camila, it's not about attaining some traits that you don't have, it's learning how to accept yourself and be insecure about nothing, because in the end,"  You paused, seeming to be understanding your own words that you're telling to Camila. "In the end, your worst enemy is yourself..." You mumbled coherently, beginning to think that you were never even scared you're whole life, you just felt insecure because of somebody's opinion about you. You both stared into each others eyes for a moment, before Camila's lips erupted a warm smile. Camila smiled down to the piano keys, a soft laugh coming out from her pinkish lips. "Thank you, I needed that." She said, giggling. "I guess, I always learn something new when you're around." "Believe me," You chuckled lightheartedly. "We both learned something new at this moment." Camila hummed at the sound of your laugh, her smile getting wider every second at the sound of you voice. It has been a month since she and the girls met you, but it's only been the first time that she'd seen or hear you laugh, and when you look at her and gave a warm smile, it was like a feeling of falling in love all over again. You watched her for a moment, noticing that she's been staring at you for quite some time now. "What?" You grinned. She shook her head. "Nothing." She said. You arched a brow at her, amused. "I -uh, it's just that, its the very first time I've heard you laugh." You blinked, noticing it as well. You cleared a throat. "So...what were you singing awhile ago?" You asked looking down at the piano and change the subject. "It's nothing, I just -uh, made it up on the spot." "It's really good, sing it to me." You requested. She shook her head. "Come on, it's really good I swear." Camila sighs, her fingers pushing down the keys she played awhile ago. Do we make this go back, Is it even worth fighting. Walk away from love cause we're so tired of trying. Camila sung beautifully, her fingers danced gracefully on the keys while her eyes softly closed. You brought your hands on the piano, warming up your fingers before adding a chord and sing the lyrics you came up just to combine them with Camila's. And all that we build is falling down now, Do we work it out now? My heart is lost. Camila smiled at you, watching you sing your own verse. "So where do we go?" You sung, your lips forming a bright smile. "So where do we go?" Camila repeated. "So where do we go oh oh oohh, from here?" You and Camila both sung, your fingers slowing down to end the short song you both just came up. "Wow." Camila giggled. You let out a throaty laugh. "We got our chorus." You said. "How about we work on that sometimes, you know, let's have a duet for the next album." "Yeah, that would be great." Camila nods. "Great." You licked your lips and remembered something you were supposed to do. "Now, how about we get you some breakfast?" That's it! Thank you guys for reading this chapter, don't forget to leave a vote and follow me if you'd like and see you at the next update. I'll give you guys a preview on the next chapter, just some lines that's going to be there. Troy squealed like a child in his seat. "Perrie Edwards!" "Mommy told me you're my sister." She smiled cutely, walking towards you, bringing up her arms to have you carry her small frame. "Then f*****g tell me why, Lauren" You growled, trying not to shout at her as possible. "Whatever Brad might've done to you is out of my knowledge, so stop f*****g comparing me to him!" "Phew!, that was intense." --- Folow me: insta: riee.aigle27 twttr: imcoolasblue
