Chapter 9

2350 Words
"We'll start about next week?" Shawn asked, closing his songbook while you nod your head answering him. You slipped in your music notes inside Sergio's bag and clipped it closed. Evening came fast and you find yourself finished after the hours of writing a song with Shawn. He's a good guy, helpful and fun to be around with. The hours took longer than you expected when the three of you paused for time to time to joke around or tell some stories you encounter in the tour. Christina left early after an hour when you all started to write the songs. Speaking about the songs, you and Sergio know the fans will love it, it wasn't going to be in the Christmas album you'll be releasing next month, but it's worth the wait for the fans. "So tell me, Shawn. Any girls you're dating?" Sergio asked, leaning back on the couch as he stretch his arms upwards while heaving out a loud yawn. Shawn shook his head. "No, but there's this girl I wanted to ask out though." He added. "Who?" Sergio asked. The Canadian pursed his lips, holding in a smile, glancing at you every now and then. Your eyes widened, Oh no. You looked down and cleared your throat, coughing on your rolled fist. When the silence grew, Sergio looked between the glances being thrown by Shawn to you, he laughed loudly, assuming the hint Shawn was giving. He pats Shawn on the back. "Y/N's out of reach, bud. She's already with Lauren." Shawn's torso shot forward while shaking his head vigorously. "No, no. That's not what I meant." He cleared out. "Then why are you looking at her like that?" "Well you know..she's been linked to Camila, so I'm just thinking if it's okay to say it." "You like Camila?" You bluntly asked. Shawn nods his head. "Well, I for one, support you on that." "Really?" Shawn smiled. "I thought you're dating her?" "No, she's just my best friend." You explained. The boy at the opposite side of Shawn leaned towards you. "What the f**k are you doing?" "Nothing." You told him nonchalantly, raising your voice so Shawn can hear it. "It's not like someone's making a move on Camila, Why not help Shawn?" Sergio squinted his eyes at you, huffing out and crossed his arms against his chest. You chuckled at him, shaking your head as you averted your attention back to Shawn. "What?" You asked, seeing him staring at you with a teasing smirk on his face. "How did Lauren react when you and Camila were all over the news?" He asked. You shook your head at him. "Lauren and I are not dating Shawn." You told him. "But Ser-" You glared at Sergio. "Don't believe what ever he says about me and Lauren." You told him. "Besides, Lauren and I may not be in good terms right now...again." "What did you do now?" Sergio groaned, looking at you annoyed. "Seriously, you two fight like couple." "Why do you assume it's my fault?" "Well you have the habit to be blunt about something." Sergio countered. "Now what did you do?" You sneakily glanced Shawn and looked back to Sergio. "Do I have to tell you what happened? Like, right now?" You asked, looking back and forth from the two. Sergio looked at the Canadian singer. "Shawn here is our friend, I think it's okay if he knows." You scratched your neck, clicking a tongue as you tilt your head. "How do I start," You mumbled. "I uh..I might have slightly confessed my feelings to her." "You what?!" The two choired at the same time, but different expressions. Shawn reacted more surprised while Sergio over reacted. "I'm not surprised." Sergio snorted. "Troy and I kinda guessed what was going to happen." "So you two are already dating?" Shawn curiously asked, moving closer to you. "What did she say?" "She didn't say anything." You were still confused about it too, did she mean no? "Does that mean I got rejected?" "No." "Yes." You and Sergio looked over to Shawn confused. "How so?" Sergio asked, nodding your head to it as you think the same. Shawn hesitated, scratching the back of his head looking at the both of you. "I heard that she and Brad...got back together..." Shawn trailed off slowly as if he didn't want to hurt somebody with his words. And to say you weren't close to hurt....you were f*****g broken hearing about it. "Why didn't you tell me?" You asked the small Latina. Camila tilt her head to the side while fingers played with her ears, looking away to avoid your gaze. The moon had already shown itself in the sky when you left the studio, after arriving at the tour bus you head straight towards the lounge where you know Camila will be , but before checking if she's the only one inside, you're too lazy to explain anything from the rest of the girls. Camila raked her smooth hair back, sighing. "Because I don't want you to get hurt." She replied. "But I guess no matter what choice I make it'll end up the same, when in the end Lauren's still with that no lip boy." Camila silently groans as she rubs her temples. "I'm sorry." You sighed, calmly walking towards the small brunette and plopped down to the empty seat next to her. You threw your arm around her shoulders and pulled both your bodies back against the couch. "Don't be sorry, I should be." You told her. "You were just looking out for me and I appreciate that." There was the silence again, not an awkward silence but the comfortable one. You faced the empty wall a few meters away from where the both of you, staring as if there might be answers appearing on it. Damn, why does anything you like is either unattainable, illegal or just don't feel the same way as you. "How did you come out?" Camila asked, breaking the silence. "Come out?" "Come out, how you admitted your sexuality." Camila explained. You chuckled. "You know in the Philippines, we don't come out, people don't care if you're gay or not, as long as you don't harm anybody, you're okay." You explained. "I had this friend a-" "Had? What happened?" Camila asked you half confused and half shocked. "She moved away when we were in our teen years." You shrugged. "Don't worry, nothing happened to her." You continued. "Back to what I was saying. I had this friend, her name is Shey and she was bisexual, boyish too, when we were on our sophomore year -this was the time when no one knows she's bisexual. We were in class and since we both were a transferee the class was given a free time to get to know each other. We were all sitting in a big  circle, exchanging stories and experiences." As you got lost telling Camila your story, she nods her head in every words you say with a smile on her face. This was it, you were really opening up to her without hesitation. "There's this girl, her names Suzy, so pretty and very nice." You wiggled your brows, causing Camila to laugh. "Shey can't stop staring at her when she was talking, and the other boys in class too. Then there was this boy next to Shey and noticed her admiring Suzy, he then laughed shouting 'Hey guys, someone here has a crush on Suzy' after that the whole class laughed at her, at first I thought that they were making fun of her because of her sexuality, but they weren't." You paused chuckling as you remember the day that happened. "Then the boy next to Shey patted her on the back telling her that Shey had no chance, because Suzy was a scholar in our school, a scholar sent by the local church in our town, that after Suzy graduates high school, She'll be sent straight to a convent." You chuckle, looking at Camila. "Really?!" Camila giggled, tilting her head to rest on your shoulder. "I bet your friend Shey was surprised." "Believe me she was really, really surprised about it." You replied. "The whole school new about it but still gave her, us, a warm welcome. Actually, the whole town." Camila gently smiled at you. "So if you have a gay friend, would you recommend them coming to the Philippines? Considering your sexuality?" You shrugged. "I don't know, you haven't heard what gay people experience from the past in the Philippines yet." "Tell me about it." Camila asked. "Was it bad?" You nod your head. "Very, it was mostly did on gay men." You begin. "As what I've said before, we don't come out we just act as we are and that was the problem about it. Back then, when parents didn't like their child being gay they..uh-" You gulped, hesitating for a moment. "They pull you on the back of the head and...dunk your head in the water, face first." You trailed off, looking towards Camila for her reaction. "What?! That's the worst, that's totally abuse! Why aren't those people being locked up behind bars!" Camila shrieked with a terrified face. You shook your head. "They exactly don't kill them Camila, it was like if you're almost out of breath they're pulling your head up again." "Oh my gosh." Camila buried her face on the palm of her hands. No  amount of words can describe how worst of an experience did some people went through that kind of way. "Do you want me to continue?" You asked. Camila looked at you incredulously. "There's more?" You nod your head. "It was only just the first of many ways." You added. "Other parents uh-..put them in inside of a large sack, tie the ends and hang it up the ceiling.." "Now that's just very f****d up." You chuckled at her reaction and shift your hand to ruffle her hair. "But that was in the past, Camila." You remind her. "As low as gays were looked at from the past is as high as they're being looked up to, now. Gay's are considered as the most successful person in the Philippines." "They sure as hell should!" Camila exclaimed. You chuckled at her. "So that's what we in the Philippines do, we don't come out like you people do here in America, we're just being ourselves from the start. Shey never told her parent's that she was bisexual, because her parents knew it from the beginning, even before Shey questioned her sexuality." "That-" Camila was cut off when the door to the bunks creaked open. Lauren stood by the half open door and stare at the two people in front her, that seems to look that their getting comfortable with each other, base on the position they're right at the moment. Lauren's eyes jumped from one to another, her jaw clenching from the scene. "Am I interrupting something?" She said, but you knew to yourself that there was something in her voice that you couldn't pin out. You slowly look towards Camila. "No, we're just talking about something." She said. Lauren curtly nodded her head and entered the lounge, walking towards an empty sofa and laying on it. She moved to her side, using the palm of her hand to support her head up. She looked towards the both of you, seeing that you two haven't took your eyes away from her. She forced a smile. "Ignore me, please continue what you lovers are doing." Camila shifts in her seat, sensing the tension radiating from Lauren. She forced a smile, looking towards you. "How about I get us something to eat? Then we'll continue." You meekly nod your head, even though you're not that hungry to eat. "Sure...get anything you like." You told her. Camila stood up from her seat and hurries out the room, leaving you with the green eyed beauty sitting at the sofa at the left side of the room. Being alone in a room with only Lauren with you still made you feel nervous, the pumping of your heart deafen your ears as you nervously fiddled with your fingers resting on your lap. "Y/N about yesterday I-" "You don't have to explain, Lauren." You cut her off. "It's alright, my feelings would eventually disappear. Don't worry" You said looking up to her with a tight smile. You swear you saw a glimpse of disappointment in her eyes when you said that, but you don't want to assume things and being let down. Lauren sighs, standing up from her seat and begin to walk towards you. You scoot to the side making a space for her to sit, since Camila will still occupy the other space after she returns with the food. Lauren sat beside you, a little too close to be honest, tucking her legs under her thighs as she sat crossed legged. Her emerald eyes looks at your Eye/C ones. "You know, we never really had a proper introduction after those 8 and a half months of tour." She said. You think for a moment and then smiled. "I guess you're right." You chuckled. "We started off wrong didn't we?" Lauren nodded. Lauren lend her hand out. "Halo, I'm Lauren Jauregui." She introduced. You take her hand and squeezed it gently. "I'm Y/N." You replied. "Y/N Y/L/N. Nice to meet you Lauren." Lauren's soft giggle made your heart flutter from the sound, your ears picking up sending chills down to your spine. You felt the skin of your ears tingle and your lips stretching wider than it was earlier. Your hands clenched tightly on your lap and fought the urge to touch her again, to feel the smooth sensation of her skin against your skin. It troubled you, how will you be able to control yourself around her, now that you two are starting over. You stared at her enticing green eyes, wishing that forgetting your feelings for her was easy as starting over. Follow me: insta: riee.aigle27 twttr: imcoolasblue
