“It took you long enough,” Luke said, having synced the Bluetooth of his cell phone to Karen’s Mercedes. He was behind the wheel and pulling a U-turn, gunning the engine to catch up with the sheriff and follow the cars back to Cody. For the second time today, the sheriff was hell bent on seeing to it that Chloe went down for something he was convinced the man himself had a hand in.
