Mykola Dziavulskyi, a member of Svoboda party, headed for Kyiv immediately after the brutal dispersal of the students’ demonstration on the Independence square on November, 30. Since then, he had come back home to Shepetovka only twice- for Christmas and the New Year day.
But even then his family—his wife, daughter and granddaughter—hardly saw him at all. Mykola, teacher by profession and civil activist by vocation, devoted all his time to social and political activity. “He was never at home,” his daughter Oksana recalls his last visits. He met with people, organized a Veche [a popular assembly]. Can you imagine?—here, in Shepetovka, this outback hole, he rallied 3000 people for the Veche meeting!”
