On February, 18 Sergiy led his hundred towards Verkhovna Rada [Parliament] for a peaceful demonstration. He had done it more than once in the recent months, so he didn’t even have his wooden shield with him.
Several hours later he will be found in the House of Officers with numerous skull fractures. Neither his family, nor friends know for sure what exactly happened to Sergiy Didych that day.
It is known only that the protesters were holding off the attack of Berkut men in the Kriposnyi lane. At one point they realized there was a threat to be surrounded by the security forces. Serhiy commanded then “Two steps backwards!” and his men started to retreat.
