His family recall that during the night of February 20 the Caucasian shepherd dog called Barkas, which hadn't slept or eaten anything ever since her owner— Ihor Dmytriv—left for Kyiv, kept howling drawlingly all night.
By morning Igor Dmytriv was no more. He was one of the first to be killed during the attack in Instytutska street. Four gunshot wounds that pierced his lungs, kidney and aorta were fatal.
“Ihor could come to the defence of a complete stranger if he (she) was insulted. When asked what for he needed to interfere he would only shrug his shoulders: who, if not me?
