Bohdan Vaida was killed by a sniper’s bullet on February 20—his mother's birthday. “It's terrible here! They're shooting..." heard his sister on the phone. “I can’t talk, I must...” he didn't finish the phrase. His family later found out Bohdan was dead.
Says Bohdan Seredyak, the hero's brother-in-law, “When I was told that Bohdan had been killed, I didn’t believe it. But then they showed his passport on TV, and I realized it was true. He was killed by a sniper in Instytutska street. Gun-shot wound in the head. In the morgue I could only identify him by his hands.
Bohdan Vaida was born in 1965 in the town of Stebnyk, Lviv region. During the Soviet times he worked at a furniture factory.
