Roman Varenytsya 35, teacher of math, worked as a builder, Novoyavorivsk (Lviv region) On February 18 Roman Varenytsya went to the Maidan for the first time. He hadn’t told his parents anything about his plans. Just as he was getting on a bus, he called his mother and broke the news. “It was like a bolt out of the blue. He didn’t take any warm clothes, nor any food,—recalls Roman’s mother Hanna Ivanivna, — I implored him to stay, or at least to put it off till later. His father begged him to wait a bit.
