Oleg Ushnevich, a hero of the Celestial Hundred, joined the Maidan protest since the very beginning. He came home at Christmas—to get some medical treatment. He went to Kyiv for the last time on February 18. He was dropped at the deep end right away—he saved the life of a Ternopilan Olexiy Vorontsov—dragged the unconscious activist from a dangerous area.
Oleg took part in the Orange revolution, after which he didn't get disappointed, like many others, and didn't give up— just the contrary, he was ready to keep on fighting for Ukraine. Oleg’s father recalls his last departure, “I’m proud of him. I did ask him to stay. He wouldn’t listen, he said, 'Who, if not me, dad? Don’t worry, I’ll come back—with a victory.”
