In his last telephone conversation with his family Roman said, “I am standing here for you, for your kids and grandchildren, for Ukraine. Somebody must do it.” Those were the last words of the hero of the Celestial Hundred.
During the stand off in Hrushevskyi street Roman was wounded for the first time—hand grenade fragments hit him in the leg. The medics tended to his wounds—and off he went to the barricade. And got wounded again. A 12th caliber bullet hit him in the shoulder, pierced his lung and stuck in the rib.
