Chapter 1
The deafening silence coming from the hall is nerve wrecking. Everyone is looking at me and I don't know what do. There is blood on my hands and the only thing going through my mind is the disbelieve in everyone's eyes. I don't even remember coming into the hall or even recall where the blood is coming from. Then suddenly I hear a ringing sound that is familiar. Where do I know that from, the sound keeps getting louder and louder, suddenly I find myself in my bed looking all confused. It's dreams like this that make me dread going to sleep.
I look to the window for comfort, the ray of sunshine penetrating through the silk curtain gives my room an aroma that is a aesthetic. That always calms me down even when I'm feeling overwhelmed. Why do I even bother waking up, my life is just the same as yesterday and the day before.
"Ray! Ray!" I hear a feminine voice calling me from a distance. April does sure know how to ruin one's morning. All I wanted was some peace and quiet while I think of this thing called life.
"I'm in my room" the energy I use just to utter those few words is enough to drain me. I guess I am having one of those days.
"You still in bed? We need to go right now"
"To where exactly?"
"Don't tell me you forgot, we need to see the doctor about your recurring nightmare" she gives me a concerned look
Even though April can sometimes be annoying, she does care about me. She is a cousin from my mother's side but I do consider her as a sister.
I quickly get ready and put on my positive face for this trip. On the way to the hospital I get lost in my thoughts. How I let my dreams fade away instantly. I've always wanted to travel to some place and just explore the historical essence of it. I just love those things, getting to unravel the things that happened millions of years ago.
Before I know it we were already at the hospital. The hallways of hospital always give me the shivers. I have always made it my mission to stay away from the hospital at all costs but here we are.
The doctor's assistant shows us the way to the office. The office itself is big and it has those fancy furniture you usually see in those classic movies. We sit in silence as if we are expecting bad news.
The door to the office slowly opens and the doctor makes his way to the table we were sitting at. He looks at me then fixes his gaze at April.
"Like I told you before, there is nothing wrong with your cousin. These nightmares will go away, she just needs to rest. The sleeping tests show no problem and that means she just needs to relax"
"RELAX!! April exclaims with so much anger in her voice.
"She has been having nightmares for like six months now and your only advice is to relax"
"I understand that you are frustrated Miss April but do consider that we have yo listen to the scientific facts"
I can see the anger building up in April's eyes and I am there quiet as if I was told not to talk. The assistant quickly rushes into the office and signals to the doctor. It seems urgent and that saved the doctor from April's wrath.
The Doctor excuses himself and rushes out of the room. We are left there to deal with the news.
"These scientific tests won't solve your problems" a sudden voice coming from the door startles us. It's the creepy lab assistant. What is he saying though
"These nightmares are caused by something else. It's because you have the Royal Eyes" He continues with his weird speech.
What is he talking about, he keeps talking about the royal eyes. I'm both intrigued and scared at the same time.
