Chapter Six - BBQ

Brandon's POV

Noon came around and the barbecue grill is ready to start grilling. Now, it’s time to get some hamburger meat and some hotlinks; my favorite. I do enjoy grilling and it relieves stress.

I’m currently stressing because of the workload of papers that must get done in the office. Ash left me to do all the work while attending his twins. I’ve wondered what those two are up to. All I heard was Beta Mark yelling his ass off.

I have Jr and Derek roaming around in the Garden, keeping an eye at them at all times. They started to walk now and I’m always trying to keep up with them. They are some troublemakers. Just the other day, they grabbed the baby powder and squeezed it all out in the hallway. I’ve found them making snow angels and making handprints all over the walls. Now, I feel bad for the cleaner lady’s; the things they have to deal with every day. There is something always going on every day, lately. If it’s not the Ash’s twins, it’s mine. They all took after their mother, Esmeralda. She was a troublemaker when she was young, one spoiled troublemaker.

"Jr, let go of Derek’s diaper. You are going to expose his lil peanut," I said to them. That’s right; I like to call their private part, peanut.

 I was watching Jr pulling on Derek’s diaper while they were wrestling with each other. They look so cute trying to knock each other out. I don’t worry about them getting harm because my boys are a lot stronger than what they seem. I’ve discovered the other day that they can heal faster than me. I was shaving my beard the other day and left my blade unattended. Derek grabbed my blade and started to shave his face. Cute, he wanted to be just like his dad. Derek cut his cheek while I discovered him and I saw how fast he healed. Then Jr grabbed the blade from him, before I was able to and cut his hands with it. The healing process only took 5 seconds compared to a normal werewolf; we heal in 1-3 minutes on small cuts. Depending on how deep and serious the wound is, it can last up to an hour.

"Derek stop biting so hard. You’ve just made Jr cry," I said to him. My boys, they never listen.

"Hey Brandon, how are the burgers and the links," asked Ash.

"It’s almost done. I’ve only had a few batches to go," I responded back.

"Good, because our guests have arrived and they are looking very hungry by the smell from the grill," said Beta Mark.

"Oh hey, Beta Mark, how’s your bathroom," I asked while trying to hold in my laugh but couldn't?

"Shut up, I don’t want to talk about it. At least the cleaning lady’s did a great time restoring my bathroom like new," answered Beta Mark.

"That bad, huh," I laughed and laughed. Beta Mark just slap the back of my head. 

"Ouch," I said after he hit me.

A few minutes later, the food is ready. Everyone gathered up and started to serve themselves. We have hamburgers, hot dogs, hotlinks, green salad, potatoes salad, chips and dip, salsa, pinto beans, white rice, boiled eggs, desserts, and drinks.

Esmeralda's POV

"Grandpa, Uncle Jim, Uncle Nate, you are here. We’ve missed you," said Melissa while hugging them all at the same time.

"Dad, Jim, and Nate, I wasn’t expecting you guys. Welcome," I said to them while hugging them all. I was so happy seeing my family from all the way from Alaska just to be with us. What a good surprise.

"What about me? Don’t you miss me," asked Third in Command Taylor was hiding behind everyone else and finally showed himself.

"I didn’t see you, hi Taylor, I said while running into him and hugging the life out of him. I was so happy to see him.

"Nathaniel there’s my buddy, how are you doing," said Third in Command Taylor after I released him and he picked up Nathaniel in his arms.

"I’ve missed you, Tay. What did you bring me", asked Nathaniel? Taylor and Nathaniel became best buddies. He wouldn’t stop spoiling Nathaniel with toys. Nathaniel’s favorite was a battleship. He loves to put them in water and role play while taking a bubble bath. I’m very happy to see everyone today. Nate and Jim also brought their mates. Looks like they all are spending a great amount of time with us.

"I’ve got you another battleship, want to see," said Third in Command Taylor? Taylor gave Nathaniel a new battleship and it looked awesome. We all sat down and began to eat.

Ash's POV

Esmeralda's family showed up and I’m very happy she liked her surprise. While we were eating, the twins started to tackle each other and play with their other siblings. They must have gotten full because they were the first ones to finish their meal. They started to play football and they looked so cute tackling down each other. It was Jr and Melissa against Derek and Nathaniel. We all sat there and watched them play.

"Isn’t that so cute," said Grandpa Gary.

"Yeah, it is. Let’s join them when we finish here," I said.

"Sounds like a great plan," said Grandpa Gary.

Once we have finished eating, Grandpa Gary, Grandpa Black, Uncle Jim, Uncle Nate, Taylor, Mark, Brandon, Esmeralda and of course myself, joined the twins for a football game. We had fun playing and ended the day spending quality time together. We also had chocolate s’mores burning over the fire pit. It was delicious. Grandpa Black was telling his stories, while Grandpa Gary was showing the twins how to fish. The twin’s caught a lot of fishes that night.
