Chapter 2

"What could be the problem?" Ava creased her forehead.

"His laboratory test results were normal though there's a slight increased in his white blood cell count but it couldn't be the cause of his fever and vomiting. His platelet count is within the normal range. His urine is also clear." Ava said while looking at the papers she's holding.

"We should let them see a Pediatrician to do more tests on Draco. He's a human and you can only do your "magic" on animals." Denisse suggested and Ava nodded.

"He's awake." Ella went out of the room where Draco is staying.

When Neo and Ella saw that Draco finally opened his eyes, they felt relieved.

Ava and Denisse stood up from their seats to check on the child.

"Hello there, Draco." Ava said wearing her sweetest smile.

"Hi." Draco said shyly.

"How are you feeling now?" Ava asked while checking on his pulse and heartbeat while Denisse is checking on his other vital signs.

"I'm hungry." Draco said that made them smile.

Neo went out to buy food for his son. He also bought food for Ava and Denisse. When he was on his way back to the clinic, he felt someone was looking at him but when he looked around, there's no one there. He shrugged his shoulders and continued walking going back. 

"His laboratory tests results were normal. His fever is already gone too. He never vomited again. I suggest that you should bring him to his Pediatrician for further testing." Ava said while removing the dextrose from Draco's hand.

"We will do that. We will see the pack doctor immediately when we reach home." Neo wanted to cut his tongue seeing that his wife looked at him again with a raised brow.

"Thank you very much Ava and Denisse. You've been so accommodating to us. We will be forever thankful to what you have done to my son. This was an animal clinic but you assisted us just like in a hospital. We will never forget this." Ella said before hugging the two ladies who were a little surprised.

"You're most welcome." Ava and Denisse said at once.

"A wolfie!" Draco immediately jumped from his bed when he saw Night. 

"Your wolf is big. He's different from a normal wolf." Neo said looking at Night while playing with Draco.

"Yeah, others said that too. He's literally bigger than a normal wolf.  At first, the pet owners and even their pets will be afraid of her built but because of her natural charisma, they will eventually liked her in the end. She looks scary but she's really adorable." Ava said.

"I thought she was a boy because of her color." Ava smiled hearing Ella's words.

"My parents thought that she's a boy too so they named him Night but they were wrong." Ella and Neo looked at each other.

"Where did she came from?" Neo asked curiously.

"When my foster parents saw me crying in their barn, Night was right beside me. We grew up together. My parents told me that we might be sisters." Ava smiled remembering Kenji and Rosalia, her foster parents.

"You mean, you are adopted?" Ella asked and she expected to see sadness on Ava's expression but there was none.

"Yeah, but my parents considered me as their own. They got married at an old age and can never have a child so when they found me, they said that I'm a gift from Heaven." Ella smiled on what she have heard from Ava.

"Can I have her? Can I bring her home so we could play?" Ava and Ella looked down on Draco who was pulling Ava's white coat.

"Draco, you can't bring her home." Ella said holding Draco's hand.

"But I want to play with her." Draco said.

Ava saw that Draco's eyes became teary.

"What about visiting her once in a while?" Ava said and she immediately saw the smile on Draco's face.

"You can also visit us. You and Denisse are very welcome in our pack." Ella looked at Neo with daggers in her eyes.

"I mean, you are welcome in our humbled home." Neo said smiling widely on his wife.

"Yes, he's right. We would love to have you in our place." Ella said hoping that Ava will accept her offer.

"We will go." Ava looked at Denisse with a furrowed forehead.

"That's great! Just call me and I will gladly fetch you from here." Ella said smiling brightly.

"Tomorrow's great." Ava looked again at Denisse, now with her raised brow.

"Really? Tomorrow then. Oh, I'm so excited!" Ava saw Ella's happiness and she can't back out now. She don't want to ruin Ella's mood.

Before Neo, Ella, and Draco left, Ella gave her number to Ava and their exact address to Denisse.

"I will see you tomorrow. Bye!" Ella said before leaving.

When the family was already gone, Ava looked at Denisse with her raised brow but the latter hurriedly entered her car and started the engine.

"Bye Night, bye Ava! See you tomorrow!" Denisse shouted. Ava can only rolled her eyes because her friend had escaped.

After cleaning and organizing the clinic, Ava decided to go home.

"Let's go, Night." Ava said and her wolf followed her going outside. 

Ava and Night were walking side by side going to the parking area not far from the clinic. When they were already at the side of the car, Night suddenly growled.

Ava looked at her wolf, "Night, what is it?" She looked at where Night was looking but there's nothing there.

"Night, come on. It's getting late." Ava said but Night stayed in her position.

Ava opened the car's door and she get in. That's the only time Night moved and entered the car too. Ava started the engine and left.

When Ava and Night were already gone, someone came out from the darker side of the parking area. 

"The clock is ticking. Your time is coming. Be prepared, Chosen One." The shadow said.
