Chapter 9

Because it was dark last night, Ava wasn't able to see the wonderful surroundings she's seeing right now. The tall green trees, the different flowers that are starting to bloom, the wild animals that are freely wandering the ground, and the clear blue sky.

"So, Jakobe, what you do for a living?" Ava broke the silence because she was already bored. She was used to talk the whole day when she's at the clinic and having a friend as talkative as Denisse, her world was never been quiet.

The two men who were sitting in front of the car kept their silence after leaving Truett's mansion. There were two cars escorting them, one at the back and one in front. Truett wanted to send another two cars but Jakobe said it's not needed because there were other warriors who decided to run with them in their wolf form.

Jakobe looked at Malcolm who was driving.

"I'm the CEO of a company." Jakobe answered.

"And what's the name of your company?" Ava asked that made Jakobe looked at Malcolm again.

"Timber Company." Jakobe answered that made Ava creased her forehead.

"What does your company do?" Ava asked again that made Jakobe puffed air.

"It kills." Thunder said using the mind link.

"Shut up!" Jakobe said that made Thunder smirked.

"It's a company that deals with animals." Jakobe answered.

"Animals like?" Ava asked.

"Does she even know how to keep her mouth shut?" Thunder said using the mind link that made Malcolm smiled.

"Wolves." Jakobe answered.

"Like them?" Ava asked while looking outside the window.

Jakobe and Malcolm looked at each other.

"Alpha!" One of the lead warrior that decided to run in their wolf form said using the mind link.

"Where are you? What is happening?" Jakobe asked.

"We've are under attack. We are still trying to fight rouges here." The lead warrior said.

Malcolm pressed the break hard because the car in front had fully stopped.

"s**t!" Malcolm said when he saw rouges are surrounding them.

"Alpha! This is an ambush!" Malcolm continued and Jakobe felt anger.

"Protect your Luna!" Jakobe said and in an instant, wolves of the Timber wolf pack surrounded the car where Ava was in.

"Ava, whatever happens, don't get out. You know how to drive, right?" Ava nodded vigorously.

"We will make a way for you. Go back to Truett's mansion. You will be safe there. Tell him what you saw." Jakobe said.

"What is happening?" Ava asked with a trembling voice.

Jakobe felt the fear Ava is feeling and he wanted to kill the rouges at this instant.

"Don't be afraid. I'll tell you everything when this is over. For now, you should go back to stay safe, okay?" Jakobe said.

"What about you?" Ava asked that made Jakobe smiled.

"Alpha!" Malcolm shouted when he saw that the rouges already started attacking.

"Night! What is happening to you?" Kenji shouted while trying to calm the wolf.

"I think I should give her another shot of tranquilizer." Jacques said while trying to put the leash on Night's head.

"Oh my god!" Rosalia said that made Kenji and Jacques looked at her.

"Her eyes! Look at her eyes!" Rosalia said again.

Night's eyes turned into golden yellow from its normal white color. Her fangs also started to protrude that made Kenji and Jacques let go of her because of fear.

"What is happening to her?" Kenji asked but none answered because Rosalia and Jacques also don't know why Night's appearance started to change.

"Night!" Rosalia tried to call the wolf but she hurriedly went out destroying the front door.

When Night was already outside, she made a loud howl before she immediately entered the forest.

"Alpha Zyair, the wolf just got out of the house." One of the warrior of the Red Moon Pack who was guarding Kenji and Rosalia's farm said using the mind link.

"Follow her." Zyair said.

"What the matter?" Zhuri asked when she saw her husband was in deep thought.

"One of the warriors said that the wolf went out." Zyair answered.

"And?" Zhuri said with her creased forehead.

"When I saw the wolf, I know that there's something about her. When you called last night and you said that the warriors have felt a powerful aura on that house, I knew she's one of us. She has something to do with the rouges and the digging around the family's barn. And I think, this day will be the start of solving this puzzle." Zyair said.

Jakobe and Malcolm went outside of the car and as planned, Ava moved towards the driver's seat and readied herself.

Ava's eyes went wide when she saw a lot of wolves surrounding them. She remembered the wolves that attacked her last night and the fear she felt came back.

"Oh my gosh, what are they? Where did they came from?" Ava asked herself feeling her loud heartbeat and cold feet.

Ava eye's went more wider as if her eyes will fall out of the socket when she saw that the men from the cars escorting them from Truett's mansion started to change.

"What the...!?" She said.

She looked at Malcolm and Jakobe and the latter was also looking at her.

"Oh no, no, this is not happening. This is not true. This is just only a dream." Ava said when she saw how Malcolm also change.

Ava looked intently at Jakobe.

"Please don't, please don't." Jakobe looked at Ava wearing a warm smile.

Ava screamed when a wolf jumped right directly into Jakobe but in a blink of an eye, a huge wolf emerged.

"He's a wolf. They were all wolves. What is this? Where am I really? He's the huge wolf that saved me? Who are they? Ava felt numb seeing things for the first time. She can't believe what are in front of her. From last night up to now, she was really confused, scared, and lost. Ava felt that's she's having difficulty in breathing and before she knew, she lost her consciousness.
