Chapter 17

"What's for today?" Ava asked Night while they were walking along the enchanted forest.

"Nothing, today is your rest day." Night answered that made Ava smiled brightly.

"Really? As in no stretching, no bending, no splitting, as in nada?" Night rolled her eyes hearing Ava's words.

"Yeah." Night said and that made Ava clapped her hands.

"But, where are going?" Ava asked when she noticed that they were a little far from Nevaeh's mansion.

"Just wait and keep walking. We're almost there." Night said.

"Good morning." Jakobe greeted Kenji and Rosalia who were standing in front of their door.

The couple were busy preparing themselves before going to their barn to help Ander, Maria, and Jacques in attending the needs of the animals when they heard a knock from the door.

"Good morning too but may I know who are you?" Kenji said looking at Jakobe with furrowed forehead.

"I'm Jakobe. I'm Ava's mate..." Malcolm cleared his throat to remind his Alpha about the words he used.

"I mean, I'm Ava's friend." Kenji and Rosalia looked at each other then looked at Jakobe.

"Ava is not here." Jakobe saw that tears started to well up on Rosalia's eyes.

"I know. She told me about it." Again, Kenji and Rosalia looked at each other.

"Alpha, I think they are doubting you." Malcolm said through the mind link.

"What should I do?" Jakobe asked but Malcolm wasn't able to answer because Kenji spoke.

"You know where she is?" Kenji asked that made Jakobe looked at him.

"We saw each other before they disappeared but she never told me where they are going. I came here to see if she already come back." Rosalia started to cry hearing what Jakobe said. Kenji comforted his wife by rubbing her back.

"Please come inside." Rosalia said after calming a little. Even though it's only the first time they met Jakobe. She knew she could trust the man. Beside his handsomeness, he looked dignified and regal.

Jakobe and Malcolm went inside the house. The rest of the pack warriors stayed outside to guard not only their Alpha but also the surrounding.

Upon entering the house, Jakobe smelled Ava's scent making him sighed deeply.

"Anything you want to eat or drink?" Rosalia asked but Jakobe and Malcolm only shook their heads.

Jakobe looked around and saw a picture of Ava. He stood up and walked towards the picture that was hanging on the wall.

"That's her graduation picture." Jakobe looked back to see that Rosalia followed him leaving Kenji and Malcolm talking.

"She's a good daughter, a very patient doctor, a good friend. We never knew that one day she will be gone and leaving us without a trace. We've been looking for her everywhere but no one knew where she is." Rosalia's eyes started to well up again with tears.

"I will find her. I can't promise anything but I will find her." Jakobe said and to his surprise, Rosalia embraced him tightly.

"Please do. I missed my daughter so much." Rosalia said crying and sobbing and all Jakobe could do is to rub her back to comfort her.

"Where here." Night said standing right in front of a mini waterfalls.

Ava furrowed her forehead and looked between Night and the mini waterfalls simultaneously.

"Okay but, what should we do here?" Ava asked with her creased forehead.

"I knew you missed your dad and mom so much. You had a dream about them last night. You can see them through that falls but they can never see you. You can't talk to them. You can't touch them. And, it's only for one minute." Night said.

"That's fine with me. Just to see them doing fine is enough with me." Ava said, tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Just close your eyes and think of them. Remember the times your with them." Night said and Ava followed.

Rosalia came back to the side of his husband who was seating at the couch leaving Jakobe still looking at Ava's picture.

"Where are you?" Jakobe said and sighed before touching the picture frame.

As he touches the frame, he felt something.

"Jakobe? Ava said with her surprised face looking at the man that appeared on the mini waterfalls.

"Ava?" Jakobe said not believing that he could hear his mate's voice. They were talking using the mind link.

"Where the hell are you? What are you doing there?" They both spoke at once.

"I'm hoping that I could see you here. That you already come back. Where are you? We've been looking for you everywhere. Your parents are worried about you. They are missing you badly. I'm missing you so much." Jakobe continuously said that made Ava smiled and became red in color because of Jakobe's last words.

"Honestly, I don't know where am I but I'm doing fine. Please tell my parents I'm missing them too. Please tell them that I'm safe and I'm okay." Ava said.

"Where will you come back? When can we see you again?" Jakobe asked touching Ava's picture again.

"I don't know. Maybe..."

"Maybe what? Ava? Avayah?" Jakobe said but he didn't hear Ava's voice again.

"Alpha? Alpha?" Malcolm made his voice louder because it was the third time he called Jakobe but it was like he was in another world.

"I heard Ava's voice." Jakobe said through the mind link. He don't know how to explain to Kenji and Rosalia that he spoke to their daughter through her picture.

"You sure about that, Alpha?" Malcolm asked and Jakobe nodded.

"Jakobe? Jakobe?" Ava said but she didn't hear the man's voice again.

"Avayah, what happened? Did you see your parents?" Night asked and Ava shook her head for a NO answer.

"I heard Jakobe's voice." Ava said that made Night looked at her.

"Jakobe? Why him?" Night asked with curiosity in her face.

"I don't know." Ava said before telling Night what she and Jakobe have talked about.
