Chapter two - Classes and beefing

2088 Words
Jayden's POV: Hey, my name is Jayden Gray. I am a twenty-year-old university student. I decide to study business. My dream is to have my own when I grow up. I have no idea what it will be about, but I have enough time to decide. I have a little sister named Ally. She is so annoying, but I have to deal with her. The worst thing is when my parents make me babysit her. She always listens to Kali James. My sister is obsessed with her. I swear, she is her biggest fan. The last time she had a concert in my hometown, she begged my mom to take her. That's why I didn't have to deal with this. I don't mind the singer, but I'm not a fan. Mostly, that is because my sister annoyed me enough with her. The good news is that I have classes. This means I don't need to be with her all the time. I met my friends in high school. We went to the same university. I go out with them almost every day. That is if I don't have to babysit Ally. She is twelve, but my mom doesn't trust her enough to leave her alone. I understand, but we have neighbors. I don't need to be the one doing that. It's not like I pay attention to her. Ally is in her room doing stuff. As long as she is not outside, I'm good. I will please my parents to get her a babysitter. I hope that they will listen to me. I love my university, but sometimes, I wish I didn't have to go. I have classes that I can't skip. It's good that we can go out early. That is only if we have finished the lesson earlier. I use all my free time between my classes to be with friends. We are a small group of four people. There are three boys and a girl. Sometimes, we need a different opinion. That was Tom's idea. Bailey is a good girl. I can talk with her about everything. She reminds me of my mom but in a better way. After all, she is not my parent. I woke up and checked the time. It was 9 am. My first class is after an hour. I went to get ready and later for breakfast. Luckily, my sister is at school. This means I don't have to see her. My parents have left for work as well. I ate a bowl of cereal and left for my class. Tom and Bailey were already there. Soon, Andrew came. All of us decided to study the same thing. We went to the classroom and waited for the teacher. - What are the plans for the day? I don't want to stay at home all night. - Tom said - I don't know. If my parents decide to go out, I have to watch Ally. Again. - Why do you beef with her so much? She is only twelve. - Because she is the most annoying human being. Also, I listen to the same music all the time. - Kali James. - Andrew said, chuckling - Yes. Hopefully, she will never have a concert in the town again. - You can't ban the girl. It's not her fault that your sister loves her so much. - Bailey said - I don't care. I don't like her. - You have never met her. How can you dislike someone who you don't know? - Simple. - I will never be able to understand you. - I don't even know why she is so famous. - Because she can sing. Without auto-tune. I have found videos of her doing it online. - So? - She has talent. Many people like her. - And? - And what? She deserves the fame she has. I'm not her biggest fan, but her music is good. - Can you watch my sister next time? - No chance. I have a social life. - Excuse me. - I said, and she laughed - Can we talk about the upcoming projects? I have no idea what to do. - Tom said - Man, all you need is a business idea. That's it. - Think of a future business you would like to have. - Bailey said - I learned to tie my shoes at twelve. Do you think I'm that smart? - What? - Nevermind. I need ideas. - Search online. The task is an idea and a concept. This means how you will make this in real life. - I'm dead. - That is one of the easiest projects we have. - I said - I agree. You wouldn't worry that much. - Andrew said - Will you help me? - Nope. - What great friends I have. - We are the only friends you have. - Sad, but true. The teacher came, and we started with the lesson. I have an idea for my project, but I don't know if it will work. It's about hair products. Something similar already exists, but I will try with my idea. Of course, it's only for the project. I will never make a product like that. The teacher only wants to see our creativity. After the class, I walked out. Bailey wanted to come with me. I think she likes to hang out with me the most. It's not like I mind. - Do you want to tell me something? - I asked - No, but I want to ask. - What? - Why do you hate your sister so much? It can't because of the music. - I don't hate her. Let's say that we have differences. Also, she is old enough to take care of herself. - I didn't say the opposite. - She is annoying. That's all I will say. What about you? - What about me? - Do you hate or like someone? - Not yet. The prince hasn't appeared. - We are already at university. Look around. Someone might fall for you. - What if I don't? - That will be your mistake. - Really? - I think you need another girl who will change your mind. - Why? I have heard this. Also, read. - You read? - Online stories. - That makes more sense. - See? - Check this out. Kali James will have a show in the city. It will be part of her small tour. - No! Why does this girl have to be everywhere? - She didn't do anything to you. No one said that you have to go. - But I know you will do it. - I never said that. - There is no need to. My sister will beg my mom to take her. - You can do it. - There is no way I will go to her concert. I better die. - Jayden, don't talk like that. I think you secretly like her music. - Yes, sure. I like stupid love songs. - She doesn't make love songs. - I don't care. Nothing else was said. I don't want to talk about this. I don't like the singer, and I won't go to her concert. Later, I went to the rest of my classes. When I went home, Ally was already there. Not this music again. I turned her speaker off, and she looked at me madly. Then, she turned it on again. If you want a war, I will give you one. I turned it off again. You have headphones. Use them. - Hey. - Turn it off. - No! - Then, use your headphones. I don't want to listen to the same song. - I don't care. I can do whatever I want. - No, you won't. - I said and took her speaker - Hey, give it back. Mom! - Will you two stop arguing for two minutes? I want to work. - He took my speaker. - She doesn't need it. - That's it! I'll take this. You have headphones, and you will go to your room. If I hear another argument, you two will go out until dinner. Understood? - my mom asked and took the speaker - Thank you. - I said - It's not fair. - Ally said - Life is unfair. - Jayden, stop it. Go to your room and do your homework. - I will. - No more arguments. - she said and left - You will pay me for this. - Ally said - Is someone upset? Aww, the little girl won't listen to Kali. - I said and laughed - I hate you. - Come on. There are better things than listening to music. Go out with friends. - I'm not you. I have different interests. - Then change them. - No way. You change them. - I have nothing to change. Unlike you, I like my life. - What about Bailey? I know you have a crush on her. - Do you even know me? - Yes. - I don't think so. Go and do your homework. I will do the same. - I hate you. - It's mutual. - I said and left The rest of the afternoon I spent in my room. I didn't want to talk with Ally. Me? To have a crush on Bailey? As if. She is my friend, but that's it. I don't like her the other way. My sister is only twelve. She doesn't understand these things. The good news for me is that she had to use headphones. I can't survive listening to any more songs of her. For dinner, my mom cooked delicious food. I will never replace her food. The moment we sat down, Ally looked at my mom. This means only one thing. She wants something. - Ally, what do you want? - Kali James will have a concert in town. Can I go? Please. - When is it and how much do the tickets cost? - It's after a month, on Friday. The tickets are a hundred dollars? - For a ticket? - It includes a meet and greet. - Can't you get a regular one? - Mom, I want to meet her. - It's expensive, and you won't get it. - I said - Jayden. - It's true. You will never give me a hundred dollars to go to a concert. - Because you don't like them. - So? - You know what? I will get you the tickets in one condition. - What is it? - Until the concert you and your brother won't argue. If this happens, you won't go, and he will be grounded. - Why do I have to be part of that? - Because I'm tired of both of you. If you can do this, he will take you to the concert. - What? Why do you hate me? - I don't hate you. It's a way for you to spend some time with her. - I don't want to be in a loud place with screaming kids. - You will change your mind. - No, I won't. - You have a whole month to think about this. - I better get grounded. - But you don't know how I will do it. - Don't argue with your mom. You won't win. - my dad said - You will get grounded to take her to the concert. - That is the worst thing ever. No matter what I do, you will still make me go. - Yes. - That won't happen. If it depends on me, she will miss it. - Jayden. - No, I'm not going. She is old enough to take care of herself. - I said and left - Jayden! You have to be kidding me. It's not enough that I should listen to this annoying girl at home. I don't want to meet her. Somehow, I will convince my mom to take her. It could be my dad. I don't care. I will be fine if I don't have to do it. It's enough that I live with Ally. The less time I spend with her, the better. We don't understand each other, and this is how I like it. She doesn't need to invade my life. I wonder why my parents wanted a second kid. Well, she likes having a girl. Ally is what she needs. I'm the backup plan for her. I hope that my mom will rethink her decision.
