Answers Kind Of/ Chapter 3.

The first thing I noticed when I awoke was how bad my head was throbbing. The second was the sound of tires on a dirt road. The third were the voices, I recognized more than one of them. I slowly opened my eyes, but only enough to peek around. I didn't want anyone to know that I was awake yet. The inside of the vehicle was dark probably due to the dark widow tint. I was in the very back row of seats with one other person propping my head up on their lap. The rest of the car was full of people. The person who was holding me ran their hand over my head in a calming manner. "I know your awake." I know that voice. My head spun around so fast it's a miracle I don't have whiplash. Taylor's face came into view. "How could you do this to me? Where are they, I mean you guys taking me?" I sneered at him trying to prove my point that I was upset. He looked hurt by my words and actions. "Home." That was all he said to me before yelling to the front of the car. "Tora she's awake! What do you want me to do?" My eyes widened. I had my suspicions of Taylor working with them, but hearing him confirm it just about broke me. I haven't cried in almost five years and hearing him utter those words was almost enough to make the flood gates open. "Nothing if she can behave herself. If not, Doc has something to put her back to sleep." I met Tora's green eyes in the mirror, trying to convey as much hate as I could in one look. "We still have a long drive ahead of us. Maybe it would be best if you gave her the medicine, Doc." An older man with greying hair and golden eyes turned to face me. "Please just relax this won't hurt." He said before leaning over the seat with a needle. Yeah right. I grabbed the man's wrist twisting with so much force I heard a satisfying crunch. The needle dropped from his hand as he let a pained cry. Taylor Reached to grab the needle at the same tie I reached for him. I threw his head against the window hard enough that it cracked a little. The vehicle came to a screeching stop and everyone else got out. "Somebody gets that needle!" Tora yelled before I heard an animalistic growl come from outside. I picked the needle up ready to use it on whoever came for me next. I said I wouldn't go down without a fight and I meant it. I'm not ready to die. I have too much revenge and hatred to die now. The back of the car flew open allowing two men to climb through towards my seat. I jabbed the needle into the arm of the first man and swung my fist crazily at the other. The second guy grabbed my hand effortlessly. When I looked up all the fight left my body. It was Leo. "Leo, why?" Was all I got out before a needle plunged into my neck harshly. I woke when the car stopped moving. I didn't know if we had arrived wherever we were going or if it was just a gas stop. I slowly lifted my head, waiting for the pounding to stop. Not only did my head hurt but, whatever was in the needle made my eyes and body hurt. It felt like the worst migraine mixed with working out for a solid day. I peeked around the car noticing that there was no one in here with me. It must have been a gas stop, surely, they have learned their lesson and wouldn't leave me completely unattended. I swiveled around looking out the dark windows trying to see something, anything that would indicate where we were. The front door opened and Leo's head popped in. "Great, you're finally awake." He sounded happy. That's not what I would expect my traitorous friend to sound like. Shouldn't he feel even just a little bad about what he's done? "Where I we?" My voice came out almost inaudible. My throat felt like someone rubbed it completely raw with sand paper. "You're finally back home." No other explanation was given as he came towards the back to help me out. I wish I could have fought him. I wish I could have taken my chance and run. My body was just too tired even after all the training I have put it through. The drugs of course didn't help. I don't know what was in that needle but I still didn't feel right. I felt like if Leo kept dragging me, I would vomit all over both of us. When I looked up, I wanted to gasp I probably would have if my throat didn't hurt so damn bad. IN front of me was the largest and most beautiful castle I have ever seen. It's also the only castle I have ever seen. The outside was a dark color that I couldn't quite distinguish in the dark of the night. There were high windows all over the house that would let in the best light during the day. It even had a tower. There were shrubs lining the walkway all the way to the red doors. Standing in the doorway was a very lovely looking middle-aged woman. "Hello, my name is Nova. How are you feeling after the long drive?" I shook my head before pointing to my throat. To my surprise Leo was the one who spoke. "We had to administer her a slight sedative during the long drive. The effects still seem to be bothering her. I'm going to bring her to Tora and see what he would like us to do with her." I glared at Leo. He made it sound like I had needed the sedative. Before I could do anything else, he was dragging we through the house by my elbow. Again, I was amazed. The inside of the house was not would you would expect. Instead of being older themed like the outside, everything in here was completely modern. We were standing in the grand entryway where a very large and very expensive chandelier hung. The crystals casting little lights all over the room. The floors were a light wood. The last thing I noticed before being pulled away was just how many people there was here. Large groups of people moved together from room to room as if this was a school and everyone was going to class. The people ranged in all different age groups. Before I could stare more Leo was pulling me towards a large staircase. After going all the way to the top floor, we stopped in front of a normal looking wooden door. Leo raised his hand, knocking twice before someone yelled enter. We walked into the room together. Leo let go of my arm after closing the door, tilting his head towards the front of the room. I turned and say Tora sitting at a giant desk with the girl from the café perched on his lap again. Leo and Tora were staring at each other as if having a silent conversation. Leo suddenly turned and opened the door again only stopping for a moment to wait for the girl who was in Tora's lap. As soon as the door shut my heart dropped. Why did I have to be alone with this man? "I told you I wasn't going to let you go. Now ill break this down for you. You are going to be living here from now on. You don't have to worry about paying rent or even working. The most that will be asked of you is some simple chores. You will be given a room that is all yours. You are permitted to walk the grounds, but you must never go past the front gates. Last thing you are to never and I mean never go into the basement. Do you understand?" His green eyes fixed on me. What shocked me the most was the feeling in those eyes. He wasn't mad or upset. He seemed like he was genuinely happy. That Is until I didn't respond to him. "I guess I should have mentioned, if I ask you a question, I expect a response." Well dude if I could I would! Shacking my head, I pointed towards my throat. I hope he isn't dense and can understand what I as trying to say. "What the hell is your problem?" He growled. How can a man growl? My anger was starting to return to me. I marched to his desk ripping a pen and paper of the desk. My hand flew over the paper writing down the few words I had to say "I can't talk you idiot." "What do you mean you can't talk?" His voice held so much annoyance. How do you think I feel? I scribbled out my response once more. "Those drugs you used one me made my throat raw. Maybe next time you want someone to respond to you, you shouldn't drug them!" I smiled triumphantly to myself. Even if I couldn't speak, I could show him just how annoyed I was too. He wasn't the only one who was angry either. If anyone had a reason to be angry anyways it was me. He wasn't the one who was kidn*pped. He wasn't the one who's friends betrayed him. He isn't the one who has to deal with a murdering asshole. "If you could have listened, I wouldn't have needed to drug you." He said "Whatever you say. That sounds an awful lot like something an abusive asshole would say. Better yet, a manipulator." "What did you just say?" Again, he growled. My hand scribbled out my final response. "I didn't say s**t because you drugged me." He was out of his chair and in front of me in a flash. It was almost inhuman how fast he was in front of me. His face was in a sneer as he roughly grabbed my arms in his large hands. Sparks flew from the rough touch of his hands. I must still be drugged. No one feels sparks when they are touched. His eyes widened in shock before he masked his expression. He didn't utter a word as he pulled me into a different room. It was an enormous bedroom. A canopy bed with dark red curtains stood in the center of the room. All around the room were books. Some scattered and some laying open waiting as if the reader momentarily stepped away. A larger TV was mounted to one wall with a large couch in front of it. A few different types of video game systems were lining a mounted shelf right under the TV. There were two doors I assumed one was a bathroom and the other a closet. There was one large window that was currently open. Before I could look more Tora pulled me towards one of the doors. The doors swung open on creaking hinges to reveal an old narrow staircase. Tora shoved me towards the stairs before slamming the door shut, an audible click sounded as the door was locked. "Hopefully now you can learn some f*****g manners. You can come out when you decided to play nice." He let out a cackling laugh, like that of a Disney villain, before stomping away. I started climbing the steps determined to make the most of this. The way I look at it is I'm away from the prying eyes of everyone else, including Tora. I may be locked in a room that is connected to his but, this way he would hopefully forget I was here. I could die in peace instead of by the hand of that monster. At the top of the stairs was another door. I slowly pushed it open being cautious. Who knew what was in here? For all I know it could be Tora's secret torture chamber, or worse his red room. The room I found was not at all what I would have expected. It was the tower that I had seen outside. It was the most beautiful room I had ever see. The large windows that lined the wall made the room seem bigger and like a fairy's house. The old wooden floors had scrapes and paint and dust all over them, but to me it was like looking at the tower's scars. The walls were painted a dark blue and had paintings all over them. Against one wall was a desk with papers thrown about. On the opposite wall was an easel with paints arranged neatly next to it, brushes of all different shapes and sizes lay on a silver tray. There was a twin bed smashed up against the wall right next to the door. The last wall had a reading nook built into it, but the most amazing part was the nook was actually a full wall bookshelf. The selves were stocked with all different genres of books in all different languages. The only thing missing would be a bathroom, but that would take away from the towers appeal. I loved this room so much that it might be worth getting kidn*pped. I ran my hands over the rows of books closing my eyes. My hand stopped on a random book and I pulled it out. I set the book gently on the nook and walked over to the bed. The bedding was old and had a large collection of dust and grime on it. I took the blanket off and shook it out. I wasn't too picky right now and a blanket was a blanket. I wrapped it around my body when I was sure it was as clean as I could get it. I made my way back to the nook and sat down. My eyes drifting to the window. The sun was just starting to rise casting an enchanting glow onto the castles enormous grounds. I wish I could be out there running my hands over the gorgeous flowers in the giant garden, or walking through the huge maze. I wanted to go out and see the old statues up close. I wanted to feel the cool water of the pond on my skin while I fed the little fish that were sure to be in it. I bet the back of the castle was even more amazing. If it wasn't for the circumstances that led to me being here, I probably would love it here. My eyes drifted back to the book that was lying in my lap. I almost laughed at the name. 'The History of Werewolves." Who reads things like this? I opened the book to one of the dog-eared pages. Chapter two paragraph five. When the full moon is at its apex the young will transform into their true form. They will learn to walk and communicate just as they did when babies. The elders will train them until the next full moon when they have their welcoming ceremony into the pack. Most young have had this transformation by the time they are teenagers. I flipped to the next saved page. Mates. A mate is the missing half of yourself. The piece you didn't know you were missing. A mate is the man or woman whom you couldn't live without. When one finds their mate, they become more agitated until they mark or are marked. Once marked they must complete the mating ceremony within one week the longer, they wait the higher the chances are for death. Death will occur if the mates decided to not have s*x after the marking because the body is literally screaming for the body of the mate. It wears its self-down day after day making the mates sicker and sicker. The female wolf will be most fertile in the two weeks after the mating. There are exceptions of course. If your mate is of supernatural blood i.e., vampire, fairy, dragons, mermaids, phenoxies, sirens, Witches or wizards, then most of the symptoms would be the same as werewolf to werewolf. Now in the rare chance that your mate is human or a hybrid, the mating must not wait. After this it lists a bunch of the symptoms for supernatural mating. I tried to find the symptoms for a human or hybrid mate but there was no mention of it besides the one paragraph. I shouldn't be surprised all of this is just lore anyways. There aren't any mystical creatures running around. If they ever did exist, they are all gone, either hunted to extinction or just dead. If there was any of them left, we would all know. A scientist somewhere would have discovered something about them. Most of these creatures are nothing more than fairy tales for children. The sun had full risen well I was reading and lost in thought. Just as I thought, the grounds were more beautiful in the light of day. I stretched out my sore muscles. Swinging my legs over the side of the nook, I looked over towards the desk. I hadn't noticed when I first came in that there were picture frames. My curiosity got the better of me as I walked over and picked one up. In this picture a man with short brown hair and striking green eyes held a beautiful blonde-haired woman. Her eyes were closed as her head tilted up towards the sky. The man was holding her in his arms with a bright smile plastered to his handsome face. I set the frame down reaching towards another one. The same man and woman from before were standing in front of the garden. The man's hands were wrapped around the woman's swollen belly. Her bright blue eyes stared straight at the camera. Her eyes showed more emotion then her gleaming smile did. They were ecstatic about the growing child in her belly. The next frame showed the same man and woman. The man was holding a small baby in his arms as the woman was trying to correct the way he held the baby. Both of them again had a smile on their faces. The last photo on the desk was the family all together. The man and woman both held the hand of a small boy. He shared the same features as the father. The woman had one had in the boys and another on her swollen belly. The man held the child's hand while smiling at his wife. I looked around the room hoping to find more pictures of the beautiful family. I spotted more frames on the bookshelf towards the top. I used some of the shelves as steps trying to get to the last of the frames. My foot slipped and I tumbled down taking the frames and some books with me. When I heard the attic door slam open, I hurried to my feet. I didn't want Tora to catch me snooping through his things. I picked up the frames and threw them under my blanket. I hurried back to the place where I had fallen and lay back down in the same position. The door slammed open so hard it shook the floors. I was surprised the door didn't break. "What the hell are you doing?" Tora's voice boomed through the small space. I tilted my head back towards him while still laying in the same position. When he finally met my eyes, I rolled mine and threw my arms out beside me. I was trying to show him that I fell with the books. He shook his head before stalking towards me. I closed my eyes when he shoved his hand in front of my face. I don't know what I expected maybe for him to yell or for him to hit me even. "What are you doing?" He asked for the second time since he came into the room. I peeked my eyes open to see him smirking above me, his hand still outstretched. I sat up shrugging my shoulders. Even after all this time that has passed my throat was still killing me. I guess it has been quite a while since I have had anything to drink. I looked at Tora once more to see he still had his hand stretched down towards me. If he thought I would except help he was sadly mistaken. I lifted my hand as if to take his before slapping his away as hard as I could. "I should have known you wouldn't stop being stubborn yet. I'll have someone bring you something to eat and drink. Do you need to use the bathroom?" I paled at his question. Even if I had to, I didn't want him to be the one to take me. On the other hand, I also couldn't afford to be stubborn about this, or else I might end up not being able to use the bathroom at all. I met his eyes for a moment and gasped at what I saw there. His normally blank eyes now held humor and sparkled with something I have never seen in someone's eyes. I looked away as fast as I could feeling my traitorous cheeks flush. I slowly nodded my head. My trip to the bathroom was shorter than I thought. I had been hoping to see more of the castle instead, Tora just led me to the bathroom that was in what I assumed was his room. I quickly did what I needed to before looking at myself in the mirror. My blonde hair was dull and knotted. My make up from the day before was smudged and made me look like I really was on drugs. My grey/blue eyes were swollen and dull looking. Everything about me was dull now. I grabbed a towel from the rack by the shower. Dampening it, I whipped all of the makeup from my face. Taking one last look at myself I still felt dull. I threw the towel down before opening the door, and slamming it shut once more. Tora and that girl from before were in a full on make out session. My poor innocent eyes. It wouldn't have been so bad but, Tora made eye contact with me in those few seconds. I don't know why but my heart hurt. It shouldn't it has no reason too. I have no feelings but those of hatred for the man. Sometime during my little inner monologue, the bathroom door opened. Tora stood there his arm draped around the girl's shoulders. "Let's go. Babe, I'll meet you for dinner in a few." The girl giggled when he said babe and then nodded her head. As soon as she walked out Tora glared at me. My eyes shot to the ground my feet moving to the attic door. Before he could say or do anything, I reached behind me and pulled the door shut. When I was sure he wouldn't open it, I let go of the door knob. My hand was sore from holding on so tightly. I walked up the steps slowly, running my hand along the rough wall. I wanted to get back to the pictures I had hidden. The first picture was of the family, the little boy was holding a baby while the parents stood on either side of the children. The second picture was of the family once again but this time the little boy was holding a baby wrapped in pink. The other little child was in his mother's arms. The father stood next to..oh my god. I nearly dropped the photo. The man as standing next to my parents. Does that mean the little girl in the picture is me? I quickly grabbed the next picture and gasped again. This time both groups of adults were standing with each other. The oldest boy was sitting in a sand box with a blonde-haired boy with the same green eyes. A little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes sat on a blanket smiling at the boys. The next photo was the same. Our parents stood together as the two boys were standing on a couch dressed as pirates. I stood on the floor dressed as a mermaid trying to crawl up onto the couch with the boys. The photos continued like that the parents standing or sitting together while me and the boys played. The last photo made me want to scream or cry or both. My parents stood next to me as I kissed the cheek of the oldest boy. My parents were practically glowing. The little boy was frozen in a giggle. His parents held his brother and a little baby wrapped in pink, smiling as they watched their son. The pictures after that the family didn't seem to be as happy. I dropped the last picture. These were pictures of Tora and his family. Worst of all i had kissed Tora.
