Landon's POV
After years of being tagged curse, my inability to find my mate only made it worse and this made the council of the Pack banished me into this Royal wilderness.
A smile appeared on my lips as I fixed my gaze on the Royal Palace.
“I'll be able to hold my place now in the Palace.”
Though being the eldest son, I had never been treated as such because I'm considered a no-bless child; this is a child born out of wedlock, out of mate bond or by a low life.
In my case, my mother is a low life maid who was also not his mate.
But how can I achieve all of these within a stimulated time? I thought as I sank myself on the rocking chair beside the window.
All I have left is three months.
Three months to live, yet, I made another promise today.
“Mate, will I be able to fulfill my promise to you?” I thought aloud, leaning my head backwards.
“Why won't you?” A voice startled me.
My eyes rolled at her, it was my mate.
“And my name is Alivia, not mate.” She teased, laughing softly but alone.
I glared coldly at her with my hands crossed against my chest, and she stopped abruptly.
“Why have you come to my room? Do you need anything?” I asked, looking away from her.
Being with her makes the mate bond irresistible, and falling in love with her would only make things worse for her. I can't break her heart after the rejection she went through.
“You agreed to be the father of my child, you're also my mate, so why should we sleep apart?” She questioned briskly and hopped on the bed before I could utter a word.
I jumped to my feet with my lips parted in a soft gasp and my finger pointed at her.
“You can't sleep here, you should go rest in your room. It's getting late.”
She patted the bed gently, “Here, come have some good night rest.” She said innocently, as if she didn't hear any of what I just said.
A deep sigh surged through my lips, but she shut her eyes immediately to sleep.
Gently, I mounted the bed and slept beside her, trying to avoid body contact.
However, the next morning when I opened my eyes, my arms were firmly wrapped around her.
“Ahhh…” I shouted, pushed her away and got out of bed.
She sleepily opened her eyes, rolled them at me, and tossed to a comfier position.
How can she comfortably sleep beside me?
She was scared to her marrow when I told her my name but now, she doesn't care sharing a bed with me?
A smile appeared on my face and a tiny blush tainted my cheeks.
“What? Am I blushing?” I patted my face and asked as I stepped out of the room.
I walked into the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but all I could think of was her, Alivia. It's only being a day, and I'm already mad about her?
I still have three months to feel this way?
Perhaps three months is a long time to feel this good.
“Are you making breakfast?” Her voice startled me again, jolting me out of my thoughts.
I turned to her with a smile, “Have your seat, it will be ready in a minute.”
She nodded, yawning and rubbing the back of her palm against her eyes while she walked to the dinning table.
Tons of maids would have been here to attend to her, but I chased them away when I was banished here.
What is the point of treating me like Alpha when my position had been given to my brother and rival, Mason?
Though he has no mate like me too, he was dimmed fit for the position by the council, but not anymore.
I grabbed the tray of meal, walked to the dining room and placed it in front of her. She dug in almost immediately and stopped, making eyes contact with me.
“Aren't you eating?” Her voice asked in a hushed tone.
“I'll eat in the Royal Palace today. You should eat up, you will need it.”
After eating, we made our way into the Royal compound. The guards bowed when they noticed my presence, while some murmured.
“Isn't that the Cursed Lycan Alpha?”
“With a woman?”
“Why did he come out of the Royal wilderness? He hasn't stepped a foot into the Royal compound for the past two months.”
“Has he come to cause havoc?”
Though their words reached my ears, today is not a good day to die.
Alivia and I headed into the Alpha's hall, where Mason was having a meeting with the council.
The guards at the door bowed when they saw the fierce look that etched my face, and I kicked open the door, causing all eyes to shift to me.
Murmurs filled the air instantly, spreading like wildfire, while Mason looked at me frustrated.
“What are you trying to do now, brother?” He called out mockingly to me, more emphasis on the last word.
“Take what is rightfully mine.” My piercing eyes narrowed, he trembled on the throne but mustered the courage to face me.
“This throne? It was never yours, Landon, and it will never be.” He lashed out harshly.
“Not when I have my mate.” I uttered with a satisfied smirk, and my eyes flitted from one Elder to another.
All eyes fell on Alivia.
Mason jumped to his feet, full of rage, and he sprinted to me. His brows furrowed, and his face was disdained with a frown that didn't last a minute as he turned to Alivia.
“Oh! Are you the sweetest brother, Landon?” He asked in a singsong voice with his eyes fixed on Alivia, leaving me confused.
“What are you saying?” I asked as I pulled Alivia behind me, standing between her and Mason.
His gaze shifted to me and the frown returned.
"Can you feel it, sweetheart? That tingly lovey-dovey sensation rushing through your veins to your heart at the sound of the word..." He stopped for a moment.
“Mate.” They spoke together.
