Alivia's POV
I stepped out of my room with a swollen face and my hair looking messy. It was the next day after the correction.
Milani rushed to me as I stepped out of the room.
“Your Highness, you need to rest.” She said in a low and pitiful voice.
Why? Why does a lowly maid like her has to pity me?
It's all because of him! It's all because of one man who had chosen to betray me. I must at least find out why.
“Your Highness?” A light scoff surged through my lips, my head slightly lifted as I ran my hand through my messy hair.
Without saying another word, I headed to Satchel's room. No! The Alpha's room.
The guards at the door bowed to me but blocked the entrance when I walked closer to the door.
“What?” A light smile spread on my lips as I looked at the two guards, but they ignored any eye contact from me.
“You can't go in, Your Highness.” One of the guards apologized.
I was about to reply when another voice butted in.
“Your Highness? Why on earth would you address her as that? Then, what would you call me?” A familiar voice asked, and my eyes shifted to its direction.
It was Venna.
She approached us and halted beside me, crossing her arms against her chest, without sparing a glance at me.
The look on her face flooded my head with memories.
“Don't you dare leave me, Princess. You're the only one I have left.” Her hushed voice replayed in my ears repeatedly until it faded away.
“We apologize, Your Majesty.” The other guard said, and they both bowed to her.
The door opened and Satchel emerged from the room, he took a glance at me before settling his gaze on Veena who jumped on him with her hands wrapped around his neck and planted kisses on him lips.
“Why is it so noisy here? I'm trying to get something done inside.” He turned to the guards and said.
Instead of a reply, the guards shifted their gazes to me.
“Oh!” He let out a disappointed exclaimed.
I took another glance at Veena again, who wouldn't fall for her?
She is dressed in a black mini gown that perfectly matches her skin, her revealing thighs were laced with a transparent pop socks. Her face was damped with makeup and her hair was neatly styled.
But here I am, dressed in baggy pants and shirt, with a messy hair.
Which man in his right sense would choose me over her?
“Why?” My lips found the right word and all eyes landed on me. I plucked my head up and my eyes met with Satchel's.
“Why would you do this to us?” I asked again, almost in tears.
The pain was tearing me up inside out.
“Us?” He scoffed lightly while Veena adjusted to stand beside him with his hand around her waist. “There was never us, Alivia. It had always been Veena and I." He grinned, and they turned to walked into the room.
My quick reflex kicked in, and I grabbed his shirt, causing him to turn back to me.
“You can't just humiliate me like this, not for her, not for anyone.” I yelled at him.
Veena stepped in and snatched his shirt off my grip, glaring coldly at me.
“Not in front of me? Who do you think you are?” She scoffed with a glare.
“I, Alpha Satchel Rune of Brick Rock Pack, rejects you, Alivia Reed.” Satchel butted in and said.
I fell to my knees as I clutched to my heart; no word can describe the depth of the pain I felt at that spot.
The pain of humiliation, betrayal, backstabbing and now, rejection?
They stepped into the room, giggling and making loud noises while they kiss and the door closed.
~~ End of flashback ~~
“You're pregnant, that is why you have to let me make him pay for what he did to you.” The man said.
“Pregnant? How can that be?” I mumbled to myself, seeking the possibility.
I have never had any form of intimacy with Satchel, how can I be pregnant?
“You need all the rest you can get now, mate.” He whispered in a hushed voice.
“Stop calling me that,” I said to him, half yelling, and I walked back to the bed.
Seated on the bed, I searched through my memory for the possibility of me pregnant, but there was none until one night crossed my mind.
It was the night of a great feast in the Pack, Veena and I had sneaked out to the lobby to drink. As the Princess and future heiress to the throne, I wasn't allowed to drink.
“This is so refreshing,” I said to her after the first glass.
“You should have more, you deserve it, Princess.” She responded, pouring me another drink.
We had so much to drink that night, and I remembered waking up alone in a hotel. Even Veena had no idea how she got to her room that night.
But can I still believe her after everything she did to me?
“What?” The man's voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
“This pregnancy isn't his,” I mumbled as a tear tracked a path down my cheek.
“Then it can be mine then.” He responded, smiling widely.
I looked at him, searched through his eyes for a moment to see if he was real.
Of course, his eyes flashed but with sincerity.
“I guess I should know the name of the man who's to be the father of my pup." I smiled at him.
“The name is Landon Wilmer.” He said, a smile cut across his face, but mine stopped.
Did I hear him well? Did he just say Landon Wilmer? The cursed Lycan Alpha?
Fear etched my heart for the news I've heard of him.
“What is wrong, mate?” He asked, walking to me, but I hastily moved away, almost entering the wall behind me.
He noticed the fear in my eyes, my lips quivering, my eyes shaking and my trembling hands.
“Hmm,” he nodded knowing and moved to the door.
“We will always be who we are, aren't we?” He scoffed, grabbed the knob and opened the door widely.
“Wait!” I called out, and he halted his steps but didn't spare me a glance.
He's right about what he said about me. I can't have my revenge in this condition, I would only hurt my child.
If he's really the ruthless cursed Lycan Alpha, then he can avenge me.
“You'll be the father of my child and avenge me for the humiliation answer betrayal I have faced?” I asked but continued without giving him a chance to reply. “His name is Satchel Rune, he's the Alpha of Brick Rock Pack.”
