Unwritten chapter

As she stepped off the bus, Lawrencia felt a sense of excitement wash over her. She had just arrived in the city to start her new life, and though things were tough she was determined to make a name for herself. With her travel bag in hand, Lawrencia hailed an Uber and headed to her new apartment, the driver Drake asked her where she was from but she did not bother to answer. The Uber pulled up to a sleek high-rise building in the city of Accra. Lawrencia paid Drake and stepped out onto the sidewalk taking a deep breath of the city air. This was her new home. After a long travel to the city Lawrencia walked to a nearby cozy food joint and sat in waiting for the waitress to get her the menu, Lawrencia stared out the window lost in thought. Her mind was in a mess wandering the unwritten chapters of her life, especially the ones she had yet to experience at age twenty-three, she felt like she was figuring out who she was and what she wanted. Just then, a strange male voice interrupted her thoughts "Do you mind if I join you?" he asked while was heading towards the empty chair across from her, Lawrencia shook her head and the stranger sat down. He introduced himself as Mike and they started having a convivial conversation. Not quite long the waitress came with the menu and she ordered her favorite food and handed the menu to Mike her new friend. As they talked their orders had arrived and they started eating Lawrencia felt a connection she could not ignore. Mike was secretly looking at her while they ate. He was as charming as an angel sent from above and had a passion for life that was infectious. Lawrencia found herself opening up to him in ways that she never thought of which made her lose in her thought. As hours pass, Lawrencia realizes that the hours spent with Mike are also another new chapter in her life once she never knew she needed it. From there they exchanged their contact and became friends and promised to always be by each other side both in the dark and light. Mike encouraged Lawrencia to take responsibility and risks in life before she could be able to pursue her dreams and also embrace the unknowns as you did to him on the first day. It was getting dark outside Mike walked Lawrencia to the apartment a shared their Goodbye messages without knowing Mike was also living in that same apartment but on another floor. Lawrencia went into her small room and spent a few hours packing and arranging things in the room. The view from outside was darker and she left for bed the next morning which even woke her up it was my hope just to thank you for her company last night and also ask how her night was in the new apartment. after hanging out the phone she organized her belongings Lawrencia stamped upon her diary she had kept for years growing hair senior high school so her college day. She had almost forgotten about it but the familiar feel of the cover and the notes within remind her of how life treated her. She started flipping through the pages reading entries about her dreams, fears, failures, and aspirations. Lawrencia decided to start writing again she took out her pen and began to fill the blank pages with the last day's thoughts, feelings, and observations about a new life in the city. Lawrencia became completely absorbed and engaged in the act of writing. She was so focused on putting her thoughts and feelings into words that she never forgot about everything else around her as if nothing else had existed. Just as she was fully absorbed in the creative moments there was a knock at the door. It was her neighbor Jane, who came just to welcome her to the building and invite her to a rooftop gathering in the evening. Lawrence accepted the invitation while spending the rest of the day waiting for that special moment. As the sun began to set, Lawrencia made her way to the rooftop with her diary in her hand she was greeted by a group of people with friendly faces who were all eager to meet the new resident. Lawrencia felt herself relaxing in the convivial atmosphere and the rooftop. Lawrencia was skeptical, but her curiosity got the better of her. She decided to attend the meeting despite her reservations. As she approached the other group of people they all busted into laughing. Lawrencia gazed at the other guy who looked familiar. She couldn't help but notice the way the guy's sparkling eyes were looking at her. Jane her neighbor noticed her gaze and whispered into her ears. He is Mike, he's a great guy but you must be warned he has a reputation for being a bit of a lady's man. Lawrencia raised her eyebrow, she thought carefully about Mike's story and how he had lived years back. With this, she didn't give up she went ahead to become friends with Mike just to know more about him. After the rooftop meeting that night. Lawrencia and Mike had more conversations about their lives from the beginning of their lives as adults till now. Along the line, Mike's voice became low and serious which made Lawrencia tremble. Mike promised Lawrencia to tell her a deep secret about himself that no one had ever known. Hey! Lawrencia, listen I am not who you think I am Lawrencia's heart skipped a bit but he repeated I am not who you think I am with his voice low and husky Lawrencia's curiosity was piqued as she asked what secrets you have. Mike! I am not just a charming friend nor a charming neighbor I'm... I'm an occult member. What did that even mean Mike!? Mike took a deep breath and comforted her down Lawrencia I have been hiding my true identity for so many years now. I'm also part of a secret world alongside the physical world that you and I are in now. Lawrencia's mind was in a mess as she tried to process the information in her mind. Mike said with a low voice come with me let me show you what the other world looks like. By accepting to go and have a look at what the other world looks like, she automatically accepted the letter of joining the secret world that Mike had meant earlier which she cannot withdraw herself from it. As they stepped through the door in the rooftop garden Mike held her hand tightly so as not to run away after seeing what the other world looked like. Lawrence felt a bit uncomfortable in her heart and started to panic she ran out of the mysterious realm back to her residence after Mike let her through the door to see what the other world looked like. she thought of the whole incident throughout the night which made her sleepless and did not find any response to it. The next morning she got up as early as six in the morning to look for a job vacancy in and out the street of the city. She got tired along the line while walking home to find some lunch for herself before going back to find the job, she met a mysterious stranger called Alex, Alex who was being attacked by a group of thugs without hesitating Lawrencia rushed to the aid of this stranger using his self-defense skills to send off all the attackers. Despite in danger, they can't deny their feelings for each other but due to Lawrencia's social background, she has to ignore the feelings she has for Alex. Chapter 2. After rescuing Alex, Alex asked if they could spend some time knowing each other. without hesitation she agreed to his request since it happened to be love at first sight they decided to treat each other today to a dinner after a boring to release their stress and discuss more about life. They both separated and took different directions. Lawrencia trekked back home since she did not have much on her She planned to spend less on her budget by getting close to the apartment there was smoke from the sleek high-rise building in the city. She rushed towards her residence while the other neighbors were outside crying out for help as they called the emergency number for help. Lawrencia also rushed over, Jane her neighbor narrated the whole incident and the cause of the fire outbreak. When they arrived the fire service personnel fixed and directed the fire extinguisher toward the main source of the flame in a few minutes they quenched the fire and went to check the state of the staff in the room. Just then, Lawrencia also ran in to check her things it is fortunate that he thinks they were still safe while other neighbors were stranded crying out over their burnt stuff, Lawrencia was full of excitement thanking God for the miraculous things that he had done she went forth and back in excitement which has written all over her face and her body. At this moment Lawrencia's mood was undescribable as she grabbed some snacks and was eating she fell asleep without eating any heavy food while she came back purposely off. She had a nightmare about the dinner date that she would be going on with someone she didn't know anything about. As she was on a lonely road going to a location that Alex sent her, she started hearing a strange sound she searched everywhere but did not see anyone around she felt a bit awkward but she continued trekking thinking there would be cars passing so that she could board some. Halfway through the sound became a nuisance than ever she searched all around but they did not see anyone though she was scared of being harmed by a mysterious creature the houses along the roadside seemed to be empty and some seemed to be abandoned Lawrencia mustered up the courage as she did the sign of the cross and was about to run back to her apartment, she felt a bit dizzy and fell, she got up and comforted herself that all hope was not lost she could still win this battle! She jolted awake from her sleep just to realize it was a dream. She thought carefully about the whole incident hoping to recover from it just then her phone rang it was Alex she was contemplating whether to answer the call or not but now the call hung up and the phone rang for a few seconds for the second time. She called back and apologized for missing his call. Alex sounded like I called to remind you! with his hoarse voice. Lawrencia tried to postpone the date to some other day due to the nightmare she had but Alex also insisted on making it tonight she was a bit depressed but could not vent her anger out. She hung up the call after total silence for a minute and all her father to narrate the dream to him just now the phone was picked up and a lazy voice sounded Hello! Is there anything that matters?? Without checking up on her dad's health she started narrating the whole dream which made her mood so miserable at that moment, not to scare her the father gave some pieces of life advice listen! My daughter in life things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that truly matters is how you choose to react to it! and what you make out of it.
