Chapter 1
Isabelle was at her boutique, engrossed in sketching dress designs that her client had ordered. She loved her current job, and before she knew it, lunchtime was approaching, but she was still deeply absorbed in her work. "Miss Isabelle, it's lunchtime," Molly, Isabelle's assistant, reminded her boss. "Oh my, is it already lunchtime?" Isabelle asked, immediately checking her phone to see the time. "Yes, Miss." "Thank you for reminding me, Molly. I'm lucky you called me; otherwise, I might have forgotten," Isabelle said. "You're welcome, Miss," Molly replied with a smile. Isabelle hastily began to tidy her desk, which was cluttered due to her intense focus on drawing. Molly, seeing this, quickly helped Isabelle, as she seemed so rushed that she was putting things back in the wrong places. "You seem to be in a hurry, Miss," Molly observed. "Yes, I have to go to William's office today. We promised to have lunch together, and I even made him a packed lunch." Isabelle replied with a smile, picturing their lunch together. "Then you should leave immediately, Miss. The traffic might be bad. The roads have been congested lately." "Let me clean up all this," Molly added. "Are you sure it's okay?" Isabelle asked, feeling bad about troubling Molly. "Of course, Miss. It's my duty to assist you." "Go on, Miss. Mr. William might be waiting for too long," Molly said, gently pulling Isabelle's hand and nudging her towards the door. "Wait, I almost forgot his lunch!" Isabelle said, grabbing the lunchbox from the table. "Be careful, Miss!" Molly waved as Isabelle left the boutique. Isabelle immediately hailed a taxi as soon as she saw one available. She hadn't brought her car today because she had come with William. They had planned to have lunch together because William had said his workload was light enough that they could spend some time together. During the journey to William's office, Isabelle was looking at the news on her phone. Suddenly, a news article about her family's company popped up and became a trending topic. Isabelle was shocked to see the news. She searched for other articles discussing her family's company. "Charros Company is experiencing a downturn as shareholders begin to withdraw their shares," Isabelle murmured the news she was reading. "What is going on? What happened to Mom and Dad's company? Why is it like this? Shouldn't Uncle be handling this?" "No, I have to contact Uncle Brian." Isabelle immediately called Brian to ask for clarification on the situation. "Hello, Uncle Brian, it's Isabelle." "Yes, Isabelle, what's wrong?" "You must know why I'm calling, right, Uncle?" "Of course, I know. You must have seen the news, haven't you?" "Yes, I saw it. What exactly is happening, Uncle?" "As you can see, Isabelle, they are withdrawing their shares because our company is declining. They feel they can't profit if they continue to hold shares in our company. Therefore, I want you to take part in managing the company with me. I will—" "Come on, Uncle, I've told you many times that I won't interfere with company matters. I've entrusted all of that to you." "Don't make such a hasty decision, Isabelle. I'm sure you care about the company. If you don't want Charros Company to collapse, then you must take over the company immediately." "Uncle, but I—" "I have to attend a board meeting regarding this issue. We'll meet later to discuss this, okay?" "Uncle, wait—" Before Isabelle could speak, the call was unilaterally ended. Isabelle sighed deeply, then looked back at the news she had been reading. "I don't want to be involved with the company because it will remind me of Mom and Dad," Isabelle murmured. "But as Uncle Brian said, if I don't take action soon, Charros Company, which my parents built with such difficulty, will collapse." "Mom, Dad, what should I do? I don't know what to do now." Heavy sighs were heard repeatedly, indicating that the owner of the breath was currently contemplating a heavy burden. Until suddenly, the figure of the man who had always been there for her appeared in her mind, which made Isabelle feel at least relieved. "I have William; he can definitely help me make a decision," Isabelle said. Remembering William, Isabelle recalled the first time she met him. Initially, they didn't love each other; even at the beginning of their marriage, they were very awkward when talking. Over time, love grew between William and Isabelle, until now they were very close. Whatever Isabelle felt, she would share with William, unlike William, who often kept to himself because he didn't want to burden Isabelle with his problems. After about half an hour of traveling, she finally arrived in front of her husband's large company. After paying the taxi fare, Isabelle, carrying the lunchbox for him and William, immediately entered the company area. "Good afternoon, Miss Isabelle," greeted one of the receptionists. "Good afternoon, is William in?" Isabelle asked. "Mr. William is in his office, Miss." Isabelle nodded and immediately walked towards the elevator. Not infrequently, some people who knew Isabelle as William's wife began to greet her, to which Isabelle responded with a friendly greeting. Isabelle arrived right on the top floor of the building, on the floor where her husband's office was located. She immediately exited the elevator and met Roger, William's assistant. "Good afternoon, Miss Isabelle," Roger greeted. "Good afternoon. Is William in his office?" Isabelle asked. "Yes, Miss, but—" Roger didn't continue his sentence; he seemed hesitant to say it. "But what, Roger?" Because Roger didn't speak, Isabelle finally asked. "Mr. William has a guest, Miss," Roger finally said. Seeing Roger acting suspiciously like that made Isabelle suspicious. Without saying anything more, she went straight to William's office. "William, today I—" Isabelle's words stopped when she opened the door and saw William with a woman. They were in a passionate embrace, with William on the bottom and the woman on top of him, her arms wrapped around his neck. Isabelle's blood boiled at the sight. The scene truly broke her heart. "W-what am I seeing!?"
