THIRD PERSON
Indra’s two personal guards dragged the elf into the house. Upon seeing their master, they brought the pathetic creature to the door. Niall picked himself up in tears, confused as to what he was doing here in a human’s house. Looking around his breath caught as he spied his mistress on a very large bed leaning against the King of Storms. Indra noticed the new arrivals and waved them to enter the room. “Leizi, I have found some answers that may help you figure out why you are different and why you can do the things you can do. I am still trying to find more answers for you” Indra informed Leizi. “You have? Thanks, you really didn’t have to do that, but I really do appreciate it” talking in a normal volume as they we’re alone. “We are not alone. Some of my … people have found a house elf that was living in your old place. Its name is Niall. He is very loyal to you and as such will not tell me anything about who you really are nor about your father. I believe this creature has the answers that you are looking for. If you order it to do or tell you something it must oblige as you, are it’s master and it must obey you.” Indra informed her in a steady and calming voice.
LEIZI’S VIEW
My voice caught in my throat. There was a what? Living in my old house. I am its master. What is going on? “Perun stay with me, please.” I half pleaded half stated. I could feel Perun squeezing my hand and pressure around my waist as though he was holding me tight leading me his support. Knowing I had such a powerful ally I was able to gather some confidence. “Niall, is it? I order you to appear before me in the real if it is within your capability to do” that should do it right? Slowly there was a shimmer by the door to the bedroom and a pathetic little creature began to appear wearing old and tattered clothing made from scraps of other clothes, the creature is about 3 feet tall, extremely pale, pointy ears and big black eyes that looked like he had been crying nonstop for a while. “Mistress … are you really, ok? Is that really you? They haven’t hurt you, have they?” the little creature squeaked. “No of course not” I replied in shock the creature would say such a thing. “Now explain yourself Niall, you’re a house elf, correct?” I asked and he nodded. “OK, so you serve me, why?” I commanded. Niall looks between me and I guess Perun a few times before answering.
“Mistress I have served your family for centuries. You are the youngest member of the house Brennus and its future heir” answered Niall bowing deeply. The house Brennus was once a powerful Celtic royal family of warriors made of both humans and Fay. “Who is my father?” this is a question that I have wanted answered for a long time. “My lady do you really want me to answer that question in front of the King of Storms and them” Niall answered while pointing at the air in a few directions. I guess he is indicating Perun and his guards. “Answer my question NOW” I demand. Niall looks nervous “as you wish my lady. Um. Your father is Duncan Brennus the heir of the Brennus family. Or he could be the head by now I don’t know.” “What happened to my father, why did he abandon me?” I ask dreading the answer and fighting to hold back tears. “But my lord didn’t abandon you. He had me watch over you” Niall talks like leaving one’s own child in the care of a servant wasn’t abandonment. “He had to leave in order to protect you. You see the fay are no longer allowed to breed with humans. The offspring are killed on site whenever they are discovered. Your father being a prince couldn’t stay or you would have been discovered. So, he had to leave. He left me to care for you to hide your abilities so that you wouldn’t be found.”
“Leave me now! Wait in the other room with the guards. Branadon could you please see to it that creature is feed, its pathetic state is just so …” “Yes, my lady” I heard Branadon answer. The door swung shut so I knew we were alone. I could hold it in no more and the tears began to flow freely. “Perun why? Is that why you left guards to watch over me? You thought I was a halfling and was then in danger. OH my, am I putting my brother in danger by being here? Perun” I sobbed freely shaking badly. I could feel him trying to hold me to give me comfort put I fail through the air that is him. I guess it takes a lot of energy to remain condensed enough for me to feel. Poor Leizi, do not cry. Please don’t cry. You are safe your brother is safe. The danger that Niall believes you are in is from the human-fay war but that was centuries ago. That pathetic creature is either so old its memory is failing, or it has remained so isolated that it is unaware. “If that is the case then why? Why did my father abandon me?” I sob. I now have a name for the father that abandoned me. I do not know the answer to that question. I can’t even remember a King nor prince by the name of Duncan Brennus. Most of the fay have left this earth for the other reams. I don’t think he is even here on earth anymore. But if he is, I will find him so you can have the answers that you need.
Hearing Peruns words was a great comfort. But I couldn’t help but be confused as to why one of the most powerful elementals, the King of Storms, would help me. Perun has been nothing but kind to me, which has calmed and eased my heart and mind. I have never had anyone be so protective and caring of me before in my life. I don’t know why he is so interested in me. Apart from my new powers I am not all that important. Wait, what did Niall mean by my father being either a prince or king of the fay. “Perun, Niall said that my father was the heir to the House Brennus which would make him a prince or king. But if the House Brennus was still around and being run by the mostly human descendants, I should be able to find them easily enough on the internet and they wouldn’t be using royal titles. But if the House Brennus is mostly Fay, then wouldn’t you have access to them?” I inquired trying hard to stop from crying and start thinking logically. My father has a lot to answer for. Inter net? How could a net help you find someone? If he is still on earth or if there are any other House of Brennus family members my … people might be able to find them, but … “What Perun is something wrong?” I ask. Its nothing. “Perun you sound distracted, please tell me what else is going on, maybe I can help” I want to be able to help him if I can.
Its nothing, just … Seb. He is in a bad mood. His actions caused two of mine to be hurt and I cannot let that stand unanswered. But I do not know what to do. If I go to war, then the humans will suffer in our path and even more of mine could be harmed or killed. But Seb has made no attempt to contact me to explain his actions. We had an agreement, he should not have been in my area let alone doing damage. Perun sounded so frustrated and turn. Yet with everything he was having to deal with he was still going out of his way to help me. I wonder does he feel as drawn to me as I feel to him is that why he is helping me? Before I could stop myself, I blurted out “are you as drawn to me as I am to you? Is that why you are helping me”. Perun was silent for a minute before answering I do not understand this … pull I feel. I have never felt something like this before to be honest. I do not know if it is because your powers tie into my element or what it is. “Ok, so our abilities overlap a little, would you accept me a halfling who is new to their powers as an ally? Because if you need me for anything especially when it comes to dealing with Seb I am willing to go your aid in what ever way you need. From my lighting to just someone to talk to as I guess it would be pretty lonely at the top. Princess, I would be happy to call you my ally. I couldn’t help but smile. But for now, I will leave you to your luncheon as I believe Cassy has returned for you. And with that I felt a slight breeze of cold air across my forehead before the door opened and I felt him leave me.
