Looking for the Eclipse

Chapter 13

Alex's P.O.V.:

" Mindlink her" my father says and we all look at him with confusion.

" What??" The rest of us say in unison.

" You are the alpha of the pack and assuming she was taken at the age of three and never had any knowledge of the pack.. " my father starts but I cut him off.

" She never renounced it!" I scream and the excitement is killing me.

" I told you, you are smart boy." My father tells me watching my proudly.

I look at Nefeli and she looks back at my with hopeful eyes.

" Do you really think that is possible?" she asks with a trembling voice.

" Well, I most certainly do considering everything!" I tell her. I really wish that this is the case but I' m also worried that she will run for the hills at any point with everything that we are dropping on her!

" Do you want it to be true?" I ask fearful that this might be too much for her.

" If not, then we can.." I start but she stops me.

" I want to know the truth no matter what it is, but if this is actually happening I could not be happier! So go for it, whenever you are ready." She tells me and sqeezes my hand.

" Ok, baby, then here it goes..." I say and I mindlink her exactly what I wanted to tell her since the first time I saw her.

I see her eyes widen and sparkle and she stands like she is frozen for a monent. Seconds later she jumps into my arm and we both hug each other as tight as we can.

She starts kissing me all over my face and then stops and looks into my eyes.

" Me, too!" she says and my heart is soaring!

I keep her in my lap and we sit back down like that. Everything that is happening is intense but she is all I need. With her next to me I can deal with everything and I can tell she feels the same.

"That seemed to work" my father says " so know we know".

He walks to Nefeli and I can tell he is getting emotional but he tries to keep his composure.

He gives Nefeli a hug and gives her a fatherly kiss on her head. "Welcome back home, my darling!" he tells her and I can tell his heart is happy that all was not lost that night.

" Well, what about the other burning question...

Where was her wolf all those years, cause for sure I would know if I lived with one!" Layla asks speaking for everyone I' m pretty sure.

" Blood magic" my father say gaining everyones attention.

" A mother's love" he continues and we all looked baffled.

" It is an ancient spell that falls into blood magic. A mother can supress he child's wolf with it, but not indefinitely. She must either remove it or ,if she does not, the spell will be lifted by the only bond stronger than that of a mother and a child."

" The mate bond" Nefeli says looking at me.

"That is why Sky woke up when I first saw you" she tells me.

" But why would my mother do that to me?" Nefeli wonders looking mentally exhausted. She has faced so much in such a short period of time. I wish there was a way everything could be over right now so she could have some peace.

" To protect you my dear. I was with Caspian and you two in Alex's room when the attack happened. Catherine, my mate, came in a second later and told us she was gonna stay with you so we can go fight and that Luna was already on her way to the borders.

After it became obvious that we were fighting a losing battle, Luna left to come to you two.

That was the last time I saw her alive. She was found dead in the forest and we assumed she was killed by a rogue on her way to you but it might not be the case."

"Alex do you remember seeing her that night?" Nefeli asks me full of hope for answers. Her eyes are tearing up again and my heart is breaking that I can not give her the closure she needs.

" I' m sorry baby but I have never managed to remember anything from the fight. The last thing I remember was my mother locking me up in the closet and telling me to be silent, while she was holding you in her arms. Next thing I know, I was feeling a gut wrenching pain and passed out. I woke up again the next day in a neighboring pack that we had gone for protection. My mother was found dead just outside the packhouse, from what I was told, but you were not with her" I say feeling guilty that I could not be of help to her right now like I did not help her that night.

"Luna must have been in the forest to do the spell. She would need the energy of the esclipse for that" my father assumes and it sounds right considering all the clues.

" Wait.." Nefeli says frozen for a moment.

" There was a lunar eclipse that night?" She asks emotional and I can tell she is thinking of her nightmare. Tears start to fall when she realises that her dream was, actually, a real scene.

We tell my father of her dream and he nods with understanding.

" Your pain and loss of consciousness must have been from the bond getting affected from the spell." my father tells me and continues

" You were both young but your wolves were already meant to be together so when one of them was lost the other one felt it."

We all stay silent for a while trying to process everything until my father comes opposite Nefeli.

"Dear, that night was the worst night of our lives. I have promised to myself, to Alex and to everyone else affected that I am going to get justice. Now, I am giving that promise to you, too." He tells her and she smiles to him putting her hand on his shoulder.

He removes her hand, gives it a kiss and then leaves the room. The others most probably did not notice a few stray tears the left his eyes while walking out the door, but I did.

"Must be hard for him to relive everything..." Layla says.

" He never forgot" I say and we all stay silent for a while.

" How about we just go for a run and enjoy ourselves for a moment?" Jackson breaks the silence.

" It will take our minds of things for a bit, plus Nefeli needs to get used to her wolf."

" He is not wrong there" I tell Nefeli but she looks apprehensive.

" Don't worry, we are all gonna be there with you and I promise it is gonna be better that the first time!" I say and Layla chimes in

" Yes, Nefeli, do it! I will get to see you turn and I will wait for you to come back so you can tell me all about it! And then ...Ouch!" She says and turns in an instant eyeing Jackson .

" What the hell did you pinch my ass for?!" She tells him but softens her face when she sees him pouting.

" Are you tired of me already?" He asks pouting like a 5year old.

"In case you forgot, I am human , baby " she says and is about to say more but Jackson kisses her taking her by surprise and then looks at me beaming

" Dude! She called me " baby" ! Did you hear it?? Me! Baby! " .

Me and Nefeli start laughing at his proud and happy face and Layla's blushing one.

" You are coming too, love" he tells Layla and her eyes sparkle with excitement.

" You are gonna ride me" he tells her and she starts jumping up and down.

" Consider it a preview of tonight... " he says and winks at her suggestively..

Oh, Jackson! He was doing so well but he had to spoil it. Layla thinks the same I guess cause he just earned a kick from her and his face was hilarious!!

" You really don't know when to close your mouth, you i***t " I tell him between my laughter.

" Well, I' m definitiley riding you for a run but if you think I m sleeping with you tonight you can forget it!

I' m sleeping with Nefeli and you can go f**k yourself....literally.!" Layla says.

Nefeli starts laughing but Jackson's and my disappointment is all over our faces which makes the girls laugh even more.

Nefeli' s p.o.v.

The run was amazing!

I never thought I could experience such power and freedom and the fact that my mate and friends were there made it even better!

Plus I got to see Alex's wolf as well which was one of the highlights.

Seth was very big and strong. He black and his eyes were looking at Sky with the same love that Alex shows me.

Layla enjoyed the run as well, although she did not show it to Jackson to torture him a bit. They love each other, I can tell. She has never been like that before with a guy. I really think they met their match with each other.

We are in Alex's room now ready for bed.

The boys decided to stay in the adjustent room that had been prepared for me cause they wanted to be as close as possible.

"Thank you for carrying clothes with you for me. I did not want Alex to see me naked again! " I blush remebering my previous experience shifting.

" Liar" she mocks me.

" Well, not yet at least! " I comment and we both started laughing.

" What's so funny??" Jackson shouts from next door.

" Shut your hole before you make it worse, asshole! I' m not sleeping with my mate because of you!" I hear Alex say and me an Layla start giggling.

" Did you want to sleep with Alex?" Layla asks me after a while.

" I was not planning to at first but after what he said in mindlink I must admit I did.." I say embarassed.

" Oh yeah! I never asked you!" Layla remembers.

" What did he say?"

"That he loves me!" I tell her smiling form ear to ear.

" Oh, babe, thats amazing!! I feel so guilty now!" she says and stands up.

"Where are you going?" I ask her confused.

" To fix this" she says. She goes and opens the adjusten door resulting with Jackson falling face down on the floor.

We all start laughing except him who is still on the floor.

" Do not tell me your eavesdropping silly! " Layla tells him looking at him mockingly.

" I will take what I can get, love! " he says and pulls her down with him laughing.

"Your gonna love this one, then.. " she says standing up together with Jackson.

" Alex, go to your mate." She orders Alex and he runs through the door and hops on the bed with me in an instant.

" You don't have to tell me twice!" He says before pulling me in his arms and drowning me in kisses.

" You go with me, stalker! " She then tells Jackson who picks her up swiftly and closes the door yelling "Jackpot!"

The moment they are gone, Alex lies down at the bed and pulls me in his embrace.

He covers me up and we stay cuddled in silence. His sent and the warmth of his embrace relaxes me and I felt the weight of everything from today lifting. I sigh and Alex kisses the back of my head.

I turn around and place my head on his chest.

" I was too young to remember anything from back then, but do you?" I ask him and he looks at me silently for a bit but the he says

" My father could tell you more but I do remember a few things..."

He started telling me stories of me and him as children. He talked about my parents and his and the pack in general.

I felt so warm and fuzzy inside listening to all of these moments. His voice and warmth soothed me so much that I fell asleep without even realising it.
