Looking for the Eclipse

Chapter 12

David's P.O.V.:

" What the f**k is wrong with you and you can't take care of one wolf by yourself?!?" my father asks me furious.

He is pacing up and down and he looks like he wants my head on a stick.

Easy for him to talk! He was not the one that had to face that beast that came out of nowhere and spoiled everything. I was about to break down the door and grab her and all would be taken care of. No more pretending to be nice or even human for that matter. She would be mine and everything else would be mine as well.

I know my father wants her for himself but I have to play along just use his resourced. His plan is to tale her and breed and then use her and the offspring to claim the pack. Well my plan is almost the same but with the difference that he is not in it as soon as I take her...

And I would have taken her and be done with him, as well, if only that asshole had not come. First him and then his group men. He was not a random wolf though but an alpha and considering whom he was protecting my guess is that he was Alpha Alex of the Eclipse pack. I tell my father as much and as expected he does not take it well.

" WHAT??" He booms and throws the drink he is holding, smashing it on the wall. He is furious and I do not blame him. I was furious as well. I still am as a matter of fact but time is of the essence and I cannot lose it.

"No, it can't be! How the hell did they find her or you for the matter?!" he asks out of his mind.

" Well to be honest I' m pretty sure because of you dear father." I say mockingly and he looks at me with murder in his eyes.

" Don't worry, I'm sure they don't know your wereabouts but I guess you are the one they are looking for and stambled upon me." I say and his looks at me thoughtfully.

" But what about the girl?? How did they know about her and who she is? " he asks while fixing a drink for himself and me.

" I don't think they do to be honest... If they knew about her they would have a bunch of wolves there to begin with in order to protect her and not one wolf to hold me off until back up comes."

My father relaxes a bit with my words.

" Let's keep it that way. Maybe they think you just have the hots for the girl and let her be after a while. Considering she does not have a wolf they will probably ignore her name and disregard it as a coincidence. Once they drop her back at the house, we grab her. We will lay low until then."

" Agreed" I tell my father and we both drink in silence.

Alpha Lucas P.O.V

The moment I see her coming into the kitchen my stress rises. I look at her next to my son and I still cannot believe it is actually her!

I had my suspicions after finding her full name while running a background check on her. She just appeared in the world in the age of three and that is how old Nefeli was during the attack 15 years ago.

Her adoptive father appeared in a police station and claimed he had found her with no papers at his estate and that he and his wife would like to keep her. Well for sure I did not believe that because he knew her first name and kept it but t I did believe there was a chance. After everything that has happened I need to make sure and there is only one way at the moment. I need to tell them gently...

" Dad, you are staring! Cut it out!" Alex growls at me. I seem to be staring at Nefeli this whole time.

" Relax Romeo!" I say to lighten the mood

" Can I introduce myself or will you bite my head off? " I ask and everyone except Alex starts laughing.

He is about to clap back but Nefeli interrupts him

" Hello, Alpha Lucas, I m Nefeli. Nice to meet you" she says and holds out her hand.

"Lovely to meet you, my dear. Considering you are my son's mate how about a hug instead? You are family after all! " I say and I cannot help but smile thinking of her parents. She trully was family, and not just for being Alex's mate, and she has no idea.

She comes in for a hug and it feels so familiar. It must be her.

" So... food first cause my Luna is hungry!" Alex says and smiles at her.

" Your beta is hungry as well so great idea!" Jackson chimes in.

I guess the talk is gonna have to wait a bit

"Well, boys, get your asses here and get food on the table. There are some leftovers from lunch."

"We ll help, too" Layla says but Jackson nods no to her.

Nefeli looks at the boys and me amused and I can tell her wolf explained this to her.

Layla notices her as well and asks her why she has that face on.

" I'm pretty sure she told her why the boys declined your help..." I tell her and she looks back at Nefeli who is staring at Alex with adoration.

Nefeli snaps out of her trance and answers blushing.

" Sky said that it is their duty to provide for their mates. They have to provide love, protection and shelter as well as food, which is the case here."

Jackson puts a plate in front of Layla and gives her a kiss on the cheek which brings a smile on her face.

He then says " Thank goddes, I provide some food, cause that male mate over there is just standing there, staring at his mate trying to see how long he can go without blinking" and we all start laughing.

After eating and talking about our backgrounds, I tell the girls the story of the pack. They felt really bad for the trauma we had to endure and I could tell they were sincere. They were mated and were all close, already, so they could definitely get it and imagine how we are before everything.

" Poor Nefeli" Alex says " so young. She would be about your age now. It is tragic that she died."

" Her body was never found actually" I say and everyone stares at me.

I have to rip the bandaid and it has to be now.

We need to know and time is of the essence.

" Boys, brace yourselves and stay calm for your mates..."

I mindlink them and I can tell they get agitated but follow my instructions.

" Nefeli, my dear, I know it will come as shock and I' m deeply sorry to break it to you like this but I think you are her". The moment I say it I can see everyone's jaw drop.

" What the hell are you talking about dad? It is impossible! If this just a conspiracy theory keep it to yourself!" Alex says and bangs his hand on the table furious at me.

As he is about to say more Nefeli grabs his hand and he turns only to see her crying.The sight of her like that breaks my heart but this conversation had to happen.

Alex wipes her tears and kisses her head whispering that everything is ok.

"Nefeli, you are aware that you were adopted right?" I ask her and she nods making everyone in the room starting to share my supicions.

" You were?" Alex askes and I can tell his mind is on high gear now.

" I was. My adoptive mother left and disappeared when I was very young and my adoptive father raised me by himself." Nefeli says leaning in Alex's arms. This poor girl has been through hell and back!

Alex holds her tight and I can see their bond blossoming already.

" Ok, dad, I get why you would think what you are thinking but that does not mean that.." Alex starts but I cut him off

" She has the same name and age, she was adopted at the same age of the lost child and I know she just found her wolf which is bizarre. Adding to that, her wolf has the size of an alpha wolf." I state the facts and everyone nods.

I' m glad they finally get it but we still have to make sure.

" There is one way we can verify this..." I say and Nefeli is the first one to react

" Yes! Please! I would do anything" she says with desperation.

I smile to her, feeling for her need to belong that pours through her.

" You don't have to do anything, darling. Alex has to do something.... " I say and Alex stands up.

" Me?? What do I have to do?? Whatever it is I will do it!" He says and, although what I'm gonna ask him to do is super easy for him, I am still proud of him cause he is willing to go through fire for her without hesitation.

" Mindlink her " I say and everyone looks at me confused.
