Laria Jenkins (POV) Once we hit the water, I lost sight of him. I got to the surface and began shouting his name. I can’t see him anywhere. He must still be underwater. I dove back under and began to search for him. I had to go up for air several times before seeing his hand. I reached out and grabbed it and pulled him up with me. I began to swim toward the shore with his body. Once I climbed out and pulled him up with me, boy, that was not easy. He weighs so much because of his muscles.
