Confrontation

1800 Words
Abby’s POV The week is finally over. I can’t say it has been stressful but fun, very much fun. For the first time in my life, I was able to make friends within the first week of school. In fact, I made friends on the first day. Emma and Liv are amazing friends. They are both very popular and very friendly. Emma is an only child with parents in the business world. They both travel a lot from what she says which leaves her to be on her own most of the time. Emma is the most popular female pupil at Middleton high considering she is the cheerleading captain. One surprising thing is how she is always with Liv and I and not her cheerleaders. Most cheer captains have a mini crew of cheerleaders following them around but not Emma. She says most of the girls are annoying and fake. This whole week, every other female pupil we have met along the corridors have been extra friendly she said, mainly because of the try outs which took place today and they were probably trying to make a good impression. Liv on the other hand has an older sister that is away in university studying medicine, fancy. Liv is popular too but not as much as Emma. Both Emma and Liv have amazing bodies because of the active sport they play, cheering and volleyball. I wish I was interested in something like that but nope, my lazy ass can’t even run one mile. On the other hand, I managed to join the drama club. We didn’t do much except a round of introductions which included mentioning any experience we have with theatre work after which Ms. Sherry the head of the club shared with us all what is expected of us through this term. A few plays for practice and character building and the final play shall be at the end of the term. There shall be auditions for the main play in a month but until then we shall work on the in-house plays. So far, I like the group present in the drama club, very vibrant. About half of the people in the club want to actually take acting as a career, I thought some people were like me who just needed to join a club for the seek of being in a club. I have already seen the passion people have. Just as I get to the twin’s campus, mom pulls up in her Hyundai. “Hey, honey.” She greets me as I jump into the front passenger seat. “Hey, mom.” I give her a big smile returning her energy. “Mmmmm either your day was really amazing, or you want something.” She looks at me with a curious look plastered on her beautiful face. A laugh escapes me. “Well, I did have a good day and I need to talk to you about something.” I start. She raises her eyebrows, “Okayyyy is it something I need to be worried about?” she asks, and I nod my head. The back doors open as the boys jump in. “Hi, mom, Hi Abby.” Alex cheerfully greets us. “Hi.” Mom and I say at the same time as we both turn to look at them as they fasten their seat belts. “Hi, Abigail.” Aiden looks at me with a devilish smile. The one little human that likes to address me by my full name. “Hi, Fredrick.” I return the joke by addressing him with the name he hates, his middle name. Named after our dad’s father. “Don’t even start you two,” Mom warns us as she starts the engine. Both Aiden and I stay quiet, neither one of us wants to see mom angry and I need something from her. The drive home is short. Mom and I are listening to music in the front while the boys are going on about their classes. I think they are slowly getting a hang of being in two different classes. They look happier today than they were the past couple of days. All their life, they have been in the same class but this time the school suggested two separate classes to build individuality. I like that idea. “So, mom about what I wanted to talk to you about.” I start. We are in the kitchen while the boys are doing their homework in the study. Lord, I need you to grant me this wish please. I say a little prayer in my heart. “Yes Abby, what did you do?” she asks while getting some peppers from the fridge and putting them into a bowl. “I didn’t do anything except get into the drama club.” I give her a cheesy smile. “Nice one kiddo.” I hear dad say as he comes down the stairs into the kitchen. “Wow, that’s nice.” Mom smiles. “I look forward to watching you do your thing.” “Me too,” I say under my breath. I am a little nervous about it. Acting in front of people might actually be hard. I have always imagined it to be easy up in my head, but we shall see about that. “So does that mean you want to get into acting after school?” dad asks with a raised eyebrow. My parents both want a certain future for me while I want the opposite. Depending on how the high school acting goes, I might consider it. But that’s not my first option. “No, dad. Still going to major in literature.” I say with a tight smile. “Okay.” He nods his head and then moves closer to mom. “So, guys I was wondering when I am getting a car. I am the only teenager at my school that doesn’t drive themselves to school.” I pause when they both drop what they are doing and then look at me. Dad and I sort of already had this conversation but he stays quiet, pretending we are only doing this now. “You don’t enjoy our school rides?” mom asks diverting from the topic. “I do but you will be starting work in a week or so. How will the boys and I get to school?” “Honey you can’t even drive.” She says. “Says the person that has never given me a chance to drive her anywhere. I am a good driver, ask dad.” Well, my expected hero just shoves a hand full of grapes into his mouth when mom turns to look at him. Wow, how great. My shoulders drop just as a sigh escapes my mouth. I will never get a car when the one person I expect to back me up is afraid of the other person that will let me get a car. “I love you mom but, in my opinion, Abigail is a better driver than you,” Aiden says while walking straight to the fridge. He stops to grab a bottle of water and then closes it right after. The little twit just used my full name, I won’t bite his head off because he may have just convinced mom that I can drive. “Okay, and when did your sister drive you anywhere?” she asks Aiden before he lives the kitchen. “Several times. When you took those trips last year and dad was too busy with work, she drove us to school.” He says then leaves. “What!” you don’t even have a license. What if you got into an accident or hit someone?” mom bursts out asking several questions. I am definitely not getting a car now. ******************** Dylan’s POV Abby has been distant lately and I don’t blame her. Everything got worse after she saw me with Stacy. Her window is always shut and locked, and she is never outside for me to talk to her. I have thought about going over and just knocking on their door over a homework excuse but even then, what would I say to her? So, I have just given her space. I throw my bag on the floor the moment I enter my room and then throw myself on the bed. “Arrrgggg, what do I need to do to get her to talk to me again?” I say out of frustration. I turn towards my window and see her curtains blowing out. I sit up quickly making my head spin, but I don’t care right now what is important is to talk to her. I walk over to my window. Her window is indeed open, I should go over immediately before she comes and closes it. I climb out through my window and start climbing her wall. Just as I get to her window, Abby walks into her room, she hasn’t noticed me yet but she looks pissed as hell. What has made her so angry? The moment I get through her window she turns and then glares at me. “What do you want!” her words coming out of her mouth as fast as bullets. “Hey, what’s wrong?” I calmly ask. “Everything is wrong. You keep coming here like nothing is wrong, yet you ignore me the whole time when we are at school. I don’t want to have friends like you, you and I are not even friends what am I say?” a sarcastic chuckle escapes her mouth. Man, she is angry about something else, this all can’t be my doing. “Abby listen………….” I start before she cuts me out. “Dylan, I have no intentions of listening to whatever you have to say just get out!!” she yells. Wow, she is really mad. But I doubt all this anger is because of me, something must be up or perhaps it’s that time of the month and tempers are rising. “Abby I have been trying to speak to you the past couple of days. You have your window shut and locked, how am I supposed to talk to you?” I ask. She moves closer, “And at school? Why don’t you talk to me there? You know you could have just told me about that cheerleader. Emma was right, you’re no good.” She says. When did they talk about me? “Just get out I don’t wanna see your face.” She says while fast approaching. Everything happens so fast and I fall out the window and my back lands hard on the side lawn of their house. “f**k!!!!! That hurt.”
