I felt a strong tingle in my fingers when I lowered the gun in my hands. The quaking sound of the bullet rang in my ears, a constant reminder of what I just had done. I just shot Alexandra.   Her head had fallen limp to the ground, and the hand pressing against her bleeding leg slammed against the wooden floor, letting the blood run free. And now a stream of red blood ran over her face as well. Her green eyes were still open, but instead of burning with fury, they looked lifeless and emotionless.   Alexandra was dead. It was over.   No more looking over my shoulder. No more fearing her. No more worrying about the future. I had just ended the immediate threat to me and Antonio.
