CHAPTER ELEVEN

*Belle’s POV*

I can’t believe I’m going on a date with my mate. He asked to take me somewhere special to get to know me better. I’m not usually the girly girl, I’m the strong bad ass but I wouldn’t mind been the sweet pink crazed girly girl just for just one day.

“Come on Lil help me pick out a dress” I whined to my friend who was staring at me like I had two heads. “Who are you and what have you done to my friend?” she asks in reply. I understood exactly what she meant. I go sit beside her letting my body fall as I feel the frustration well up inside of me.

“I’ve never had anyone make me feel special, he’s been great these past few weeks and I just want to look special for him, show him I can also make an effort” I confess. She sighs “come on we have a credit card to jack and shopping to do” she says pulling me off my seat and dragging me to my mate’s office where her mate was also sitting.

“I’m going shopping with Lil” I spit out letting him know where I’d be and although I knew Lilly wanted me to get his credit card I wasn’t about ask him. I had some money saved up from when I was still his maid I’m going to use that.

“Here’s my credit card” he says pointing the card to me. “Don’t worry Cain, I have som…”  “Belle please let me do this” he says with a pleading looking stopping my excuses. With a sweet smile I walked over to collect the card “thanks” I say “you don’t have to thank me for everything beauty” he replies and a warm shiver runs down my spine as he called me fondly with nickname he gave me.

A cough that clearly came from my dear friend jolted me back to reality as I stared at her wondering what I did wrong I got the card after all. “what does  a girl have to do around here to make her mate release his credit card?” she asks glaring at Tyler who laughs then dug into his pocket fishing out the card and handing it to her. “Thanks you shouldn’t have, I could have managed” she says after the card was in her hands and a sly smile on her face. Tyler turns to the alpha with an incredulous look on his face “don’t look at me I can’t do anything if your mate decides to bully you out of your money” my mate says shrugging. We all laughed. “I’ll have Drake drive you and keep watch” my mate says and I nod in response as we left the office.

We got to the main hall and was greeted by a very excited Alex “someone is in a good mood” I say to her smiling but she only sent me a smile in reply.

I know right why I’m I been friendly with the bimbo who flirted with my mate. She came to me after Cain announced I was his mate apologizing for flirting with him. She didn’t know he had a mate and who wouldn’t want my handsome mate’s attention. Of course I didn’t trust her immediately but she has stayed clear of Cain and has been very friendly, encouraging even towards me.

“We’re going shopping want to come?” I ask her “do birds fly?” she asks in reply sending me a sweet smile. “If you girls are done can we get going? There are beautiful clothes waiting to be bought and I’m aching to make good use of Tyler’s card” she says almost jumping. 

Hours later we were at the mall buying every cute dress, shoes, jeans, tops and more but I still couldn’t decide on the perfect outfit for my date. How would I he didn’t tell me where we were going.  I decided to buy outfit for all occasions, from casuals to formal so I’d be prepared.

“B come over here” Lil says waving me over as she pulled out a beautiful black dress, it was a drape full circle off shoulder dress. “Try it on” she says pushing the dress into my hands. After a while I came out leaving Lil and Alex wide eyed and mouth agape when they saw me. The dress complemented my hair and eyes, I looked like a princess, it was so beautiful.

“Alright we are getting that, take it off” Lil says when she was finally able to speak. We also got more casual dresses and I was finally exhausted. I mean for someone who has never been a shopaholic I think I broke the record today.

“I’m hungry girls, please let’s get something to eat before heading back” I say “I thought I would have to kill someone to get food” Lilly says before dragging Alex and I to the food court. Just as we sat down I started feeling something wasn’t right. I had a strong feeling something bad was about to happen, I felt watched like eyes were burrowing into my flesh and I looked around but didn’t see anyone staring.

Shaking off the odd feeling I ordered my food as the girls did the same. We ate while talking but I wasn’t able to fully concentrate on the food or our conversation. I felt like I had to be by mate’s side now.

“Girls let go” I say and we headed back home. I was missing my mate but most importantly I had to see him to be sure he is fine and I could tell Lil is missing Tyler too from the way she jumped to her feet and almost ran out of the mall towards the car.

The price you pay for excessive shopping is having to juggle more than five shopping bags while walking up the stair to the 4th floor. I know the servants could have carried the bags for me but I wasn’t used to having people do things for me just yet and I was close to my room when my mate came out of his “you know that’s why we have servants” he says as he came to help me with some of the bags and relief filled me seeing he wasn’t harmed. Not wanting to worry him, he already has enough on his plate with the increasing case of rogues. “I’m not use to that yet” I reply as we entered my room.

I quickly dumped the bags left with me on the bed and was in his arms. “I missed you so much” I say hoping he didn’t hear the worry in my voice. “I missed you too beauty” he says pulling me closer to him “I’m fine beauty you don’t have to worry” he says again obviously noticing my worry.

“I can’t help but worry when rogues are threa…” I was saying but he shut me up smashing his lips into mine. “Humph” was the only sound that could come out of me as I melted into his embrace, tasting him and moving my lips in perfect sync with his.

His kiss transported me to a whole new world and I didn’t want it to stop but before it could go any further he pulled away. “How’s that for reassurance” he says smirking “hmm, I think I’m more worried than I was before. If only someone could reassure me again” I reply sending him a seductive smirk of my own.

He sends me a knowing smile but doesn’t act on my words “I’d really love to take you up on that offer my darling but I got to get back to a meeting now.” He says “too bad but don’t worry I’ll arrange the things I got and then go for a run” I reply not wanting him to make me attend another meeting.

Minutes after I was done arranging my new outfits in my closet, I then change into a white tank top and joggers and headed to the back of the house. I was at the edge of the forest when I started feeling like trouble was coming and eyes watching me. I looked around and this time I saw Gaius coming towards me.

“My Luna” he says bowing as he reached me “are you following me?” I ask but he doesn’t reply instead he smiles at me and his smile sends fright through me. Something about this fellow gives me the creeps and I would very much prefer I wasn’t around him. “Do you want something?” I ask “nothing really I just wanted to get to know the new royal Luna better. I mean it’s not every day you see a Luna try to kill her alpha” he says still flashing me his ugly smile. “What are you talking about?” I ask in reply starting to feel more agitated and angry. “You should be careful, the forest is a dangerous place for wolves like you” he says giving me a knowing smile before walking away.

I watch him walk back to the house and wondered what exactly he meant, nothing he said actually made any sense or did it? I was so confused as the feeling of something bad happening became even stronger. We have to keep our eyes out for that one Daisy says feeling equally troubled.

I decide to shake of the feeling and go for my run, sure Gaius said the forest was dangerous for me but I had proven more than capable of taking care of myself. I let the wind rush through my fur as I passed by trees and before long I was at the beautiful water fall again. I had come to love this place because it relaxes me. I shift back to my human form and walk to the edge of the river where I sit and put my legs in the water allow my worry to be washed away by the coolness of the water.

I didn’t know for how long I sat there just letting myself be mesmerized by the beauty of my surrounding but I finally decided to head back to the house and on cue all my worry came rushing back but I ignored it and ran back in my wolf form.

I headed straight to the bathroom as soon as I was in my room had a quick shower. I put on a sun flower dress, packed my hair into a ponytail and headed downstairs for dinner. Somehow I wasn’t in a very jolly mood, I just wanted to eat and go to bed. I really need to find out what my recent feelings meant.

Dinner passed by quickly and quietly, at least for me because I barely heard anything anyone was saying. I headed back to my room without saying goodnight to anyone. I knew Cain would sense my worry and come after me but I didn’t know just what my feelings meant hence worrying him was pointless so I locked the door behind me. Changing into my pajamas. I lay on my bed waiting to hear Cain knock but that didn’t happen and I finally drifted off to sleep.

I wake up hours later from a dream, a different dream from the one that has been plaguing me. In this dream my mate was in trouble, I watched him get taken away and tortured by rogues to give up something I didn’t know what they wanted but Cain surely was very reluctant to give it to them. Then the leader of the rogue decided to kill him and take whatever it is they wanted.

Frightened by the dream I wanted to see my mate to be sure he is fine. I got out of bed checking the time it was just a little past 3am but I didn’t care and dashed off to his room which was opposite mine.

“Cain! Cain! Are you alright?” I ask dashing into his dimly lit room but I could see just fine and what I saw tore my heart into a million pieces.
