CHAPTER TEN

*Unknown POV*

No no no no this can’t be happening, I can’t let them start the mating process. Belle is mine and mine alone. I have plotted for years and years and when my plan is finally falling into place this stupid royal decides to grow a conscience and actually want his mate. I certainly can’t allow that to happen, he mustn’t be allowed to get stronger.

I need you at our usual meeting spot now! I mind linked my partner.

We met a few years back when some of my men were almost captured as rogues but I was able to convince her to join my plan which was easy to do because of her thirst for power.

Our plan might come to ruin if we let them get any closer than they already are. I have to think of a way to pull them apart.

“What’s all the fuzz about” my partner says in a bored tone.

“Don’t you see we have a problem on our hands” I snarled back.

“Problem?” she asks confused.

“Argh are you stupid, foolish or just blind? Can’t you see they…”

“You are the foolish one who keeps fretting over silly unimportant things” she says interrupting me.

“I know exactly what their sudden closeness means and I know exactly just what to do. I’m on it. Can’t believe I risked been seen with you for this rubbish” she says in anger.

“Well I needed to know what our next line of action would be” I growled back and she replies with a glare.

“Just do what you must, you’re dismissed”. I say with a wave of my hands and she left but not without her giving me a look that told me exactly what she thought of me bossing her around but I didn’t care.

I was finally at peace because I knew my partner was capable and would strike a devastating blow and they wouldn’t even know what hit them.

*Belle POV*

“Oh so the b***h’s has a wolf” Bianca said while I looked at her trying to control myself from slapping her smug little face.

“You might have gotten a wolf but you’d never have a mate and even if you do he’d never want you, you ugly little bi…” she was saying but I had had enough and could no longer control myself, I didn’t even realize when my hand got to her face. POW, was the sound that made me realize I had just slapped her.

You see I was tired of her taunts, degrading words and bullying. We were both orphans so what gave her the nerve to think she was better than me. I saw her holding her face and was about to say something but with speed I didn’t know I possessed in human form I was on her slapping , punching, scratching and screaming insults at her. I only let her go when I felt I had done enough damage but once a loud mouth always a loud mouth “you are going to pay for this b***h” she says scrambling to her feet and running off.

I wish slutty Bianca could see me now I thought as I stared at my gorgeous mate. He was on the phone with some alpha who had called to congratulate him on finding his mate.

It’s been a few days since Cain decided to announce to his pack and kingdom that he had found his mate and life has been beautiful. He moved me from my room in the servant’s quarters to a beautiful spacious room opposite his as I wasn’t totally ready to share a room with him. I spent my nights in my room but most of my days were spent either by his side in the office or in his room. He always insisted I stay close to him and I am beginning to think he was trying to keep or protect me from something but I would have to admit I was enjoying the attention.

He got a car for me and I was learning to drive however Cain would take me to school in the morning and would be waiting for me when school closed. I am truly very lucky and I’ve been living the dream life ever since my mate decided to accept me totally.

My dear friend Lilly has also been keeping a secret from me. Two weeks after we started working at the royal house she turned 18 and discovered Tyler is her mate. I couldn’t blame her for not telling me, I mean I didn’t exactly announce the royal alpha was my mate either. She’s now been discharge from maid duties since the alpha is suddenly feeling very gracious and friendly towards everyone. Their so secret relationship is now not so secret anymore since she moved to the beta’s room.

I was no longer in heat and for the last few days life has been great and everyone including the blonde bimbo (Alex) seem happy for me and my mate, the royal alpha although I don’t understand why she is still here and didn’t leave with her father.

“What’s on your mind?” Cain asks snapping me out of my reverie. “Nothing just thinking of how nice things has been for the past few days” I reply. I had been so lost in thought I didn’t realize he was done with his calls and was now sitting in front of me.

 He stares at me with those beautiful hazel eyes of his and I knew he was trying so hard to keep his lust in check. We haven’t had what I’d call a real first kiss since that stunt he pulled on me in the forest and I was aching to know exactly what he tasted like. Suddenly my mate wasn’t the only one with lust in his eyes. I put my hands over his head locking my fingers and pulling closer to me before I could stop myself. Who cares anyways I was curious, I wanted to feel him, taste him and know exactly what his soft looking lips could do to mine if I just allowed it and he looked like he wanted the same thing.

Our lips were so close, almost touching when “alpha!” the blonde bimbo says bursting into the office and I quickly let go of him. Cain let out a soft growl before turning to her “What is it Alex?” he asks. “I’m sorry to disturb but…”

“The silver moon pack has been attacked” Tyler says barging into the office breathing heavily obviously from running.

“Rogues?” Cain asks “yes” Alex replies.

Cain immediately start pacing in anger while we all watch him not knowing what to do or say “What do they want?” he finally asks “our sources said the attack didn’t take long but they did said to tell you they are coming for you” Tyler says.

“They are coming for me?” he growls “this doesn’t make any sense what could they possibly want. We defeated them the last time, for them to attack now means they were sure they could win” he says angry.

“Alpha I think they are after something in our territory” the beta says “but what could that be, what in our territory has change that they could possibly wan…” he says suddenly staring at me with wide eyes.

I didn’t know what he was thinking but from the look in his eyes I suspected he thought the rogues wanted me which would be silly because I’m just one wolf why would they want me.

“Belle come with me now” he says dragging me off my seat before I could respond.

I didn’t understand what was going on, one minute we were in his office receiving news about a rogue attack and the next I was locked in his room with him staring at me like I had grown horns. “What’s going on?” I ask trying not to sound scared.

“Belle I’m sorry but could you explain to me more about your powers?” he asks a mixture of fear and curiosity in his eyes. “What powers?” I ask in response feeling confused, what was he talking about?

“Belle since I met you, I’ve seen you do things no ordinary wolf should be able to. You even seem stronger than I am” he says trying to make me understand. Realizing what he was talking about and wondering how it related to the rogues “I can’t explain that. I just find I’m able to do certain things and adjust with it. I can’t even tell you how I did what I did to you that night in the forest” I say as he nods in understanding.

“I think the rogues want you, somehow they know about you and want you. I think that explains why I have been feeling the need to protect you” he says this time only fear can be seen in his beautiful eyes.

I was overwhelmed by what he just said and couldn’t bring myself to say anything “we have to find out exactly who you are, how you got your strength, what exactly are your strengths, weakness and how you can use them properly. We also must make sure yo…” he was saying but I was barely concentrating on him. Something new and strange was happening to me, it felt like something was unlocking within me and I was gradually been opened up, after few seconds it finally clicked.

“Cain! I think I just got a new one” I say almost in a whisper but I knew he heard me because of the look of surprise on his face.
