Chapter 20- Meet his parents/dinner pt. 3

An li, finally made her way down to the front entrance. And there she spots Chen Wu right away leaning on his car, while he's on the phone. She's in awe because this is the first time she saw him in his 4 piece suit.

While An li is busy gawking at Chen Wu, he notices how she's looking at him. But for him he doesn't mind, he was smirking at An li. Walking closer he said.

“Keep looking at me like that and I won't be able to hold myself back". ( kissing her lips )

Snapping back, he took her hands walking back to his car. He doesn't want his parents to wait too long for them so he told An li to get in.

“Get in the car, I don't want my parents to wait. They will start asking questions about it".

Nodding, she opened the door and got in the passenger side. Once she was inside she could smell the car, it smelled like him. When they left for work this morning she didn't even bother about how the car looked or smelled.

( I never knew he could be that handsome, it makes me feel somewhat funny in my heart. )

Without looking at him she asked.

“Can I ask you something".

“What?"

( He sure does change his attitude fast ) “why me? why did you choose me?"

“Because, I want to".

“That's not an answer, tell me why? What did I do to deserve this"

“You did nothing, I thought you were easier than those women that love money".

“And so you thought I was better, don't you ever think if I was one too".

“Then, how much should I pay you for Playing the role of ‘my wife'. $10,000 or 30,000 smirking at her"

Anger flare in her heart and mind, all she wants to do is take the anger and insults and shove it down his throat. So he can choke and die, that's all she's feeling.

( One of these days I want to slap his face with that annoying smirk he always gives me. ) “Don't ever compare me to those women, do i look like The type to throw myself at a bastard like you".

( Chuckle ) “Never knew that ‘my doll' could hold so much anger".

( The nerve of this a**hole, this is so not over until I get the answer I want. Hate it when he call me those names so much. )

Giving up talking to him, An li continues distracting herself by looking out the window like she did this morning.

( Oh. My. God I forgot to ask him this one question I have been holding back )

“About...."

Anli stopped talking when the car came to a stop Chen Wu parked in front of a huge house, while An li was busy looking at the house in front of her. She didn't know that his parents were outside waiting for them to arrive. While his mom was so happy, along with her husband by her side. Her mouth is hung open like she can't believe this house is so big. Seeing how surprised his little ‘wife' is he said to her ear.

“You might want to close your mouth, if you don't my tongue slip inside like it's inviting me in".

Looking up at him, she closed her mouth right away. Chen Wu grabbed her hand dragging her to where his parents are waiting for them.

( I really do want to kick him where the sun won't shine for a long time. )

“Mom, Dad this is An li your soon to be daughter in law".

“Oh my God, you are so beautiful, right husband". ( giving An li a hug )

“It's exactly like what my wife says, you are beautiful".

“An li these are my parents, my father Wei Boqin and my mother Jia Yan Lin. You'll get to meet my sister and brother next time they visit".

“Let's hurry inside, before the food gets cold".

All 4 walk inside and straight to the kitchen. Before they could eat, An li gave them the things she got for them.

“I got these for you guys".

Handing them to his mom. An li is nervous not knowing if they will like it.

“These flowers are so pretty and the wine and tiramisu looks tasty, thank you my dear."

“No problem at all, i wasn't sure what you guys like so I had your son call Mr. Wei and you Ms. Wei".

“Aw, you are too good for my son. But please call us mom and dad".

“B-but..."

“It's just what my mom says".

( his dad ) “I agree, my dear you'll be our daughter now so don't be shy".

“I-i....".

Didn't finish her sentence when she felt a hand squeezing her hand. An li, looked up and saw a look of warning from Chen Wu so she nod.

( An li ) “Ok, mom and dad".

(His mom) “I'm so happy, that my son is getting married to a beautiful girl like you".

( His dad ) “We should sit down now the food is getting cold".

An li, was going to take two seats away from Chen Wu, but he turned and glared at her. She looked up at him and all she could do was not stare at him too long, she was going to sit but she heard a chair move backward, everything was silent no one made a move she heard Chen Wu .

“What are you doing"

“I-i'm sitting, giving Chen Wu a nervous smile".

“You're supposed to sit next to me, not here".

“I-i want to s...."

“NOW, An li".

“O-ok". ( looking at his parents apologetically )

Following behind her, he took his seat again. Putting her head down she couldn't face his parents after what happened. The food was placed out on the dining table, right before they had arrived.

"Well now, An li let's enjoy the food".

Glancing up at her future mother in law. “Yes, m-mother".

Without further talking they started to eat. Chen Wu didn't eat yet, he was placing food on his soon to be wife's plate before he put some on his. While his parents and An li are staring at him like he's a crazy person.

“C-chen Wu, w-what are you doing that's too much food".

“Well, you should've eaten all of your breakfast this morning". ( Grinning at An li )

( An li's eye got wide, she couldn't say anything. ) Reaching out to stop him before he adds any more than he already is.

“Chen Wu, s-stop it's too much I can't finish all of that".

Both of his parents saw how their son is enjoying playing around with his wife. They haven't seen him like that in a long time, they are grateful for An li.

“Aren't you at least going to help me with all of this food on my plate". ( pleading with him )

“Maybe, maybe not".

“Can you at least take some".

( Whispering to her ear ) “Do as I say, eat your food you don't have to finish all of it". ( kissing the top of her head )

On the other side his parents are having fun watching An li and their son, having their playful time together at dinner with them. But what they didn't know is that An li is having trouble enjoying dinner at all. Grabbing his portion, of food he finally ate.

“Son, about the wedding we have to have it at the same place where both your brother and sister had it".

When An li heard what his mom said, she froze her hand when she was going to bring the spoon to her mouth. An li doesn't want to believe it, but when An li lifts her head up she sees that her future mother in law is serious about what she just said. The reason why she can tell is that her mother in law looks so happy.

An li, wanting to decline it she doesn't want to hold a wedding. ( I can't let it happen, who knows how many people are going to be there. What if there's reporters or news about it on paper There's just too much things going on inside her head.

“Why mom, how many people are you inviting anyway".

“Family, friends and business partners. I want a grand wedding for my eldest son, don't you husband".

“It's exactly what your mother said, we want them to witness your new fond life".

“I don't want too many people, they just irritate me".

“Please, at least do this for our family business. We want them to know that you found someone lovely as An li and not like that ex of yours". ( Oops, his mom is stuffing her mouth with food now. I forgot that the topic is sensitive to him )

Giving his mom a dangerous look, Like she said something that she shouldn't when An li is around. But his dad gave him an'equal ‘look that if he said something hurtful to his mother he would have an earful of his dad wrath.

“I know what you're gonna say, but that woman couldn't be worthy of your full attention. Your mother is trying to help you move on and prove to other business partners that you have moved on.

An li is stuck in between family businesses and she doesn't know what's happening. Getting full already, she can't put any more food in her stomach so she sets her utensil on her plate.

“Fine, do whatever you see fit".

( His mom is happy to hear what he said )“Yay, we have to announce this to our 'friends' first then later we'll announce it on the media".

Hearing this An li's heart beat a million faster. “NO"

Chen Wu and his parents looked at An li, wondering why she was shouting like that. They see a look of terror in her eyes.

“I-I am sorry for shouting like that, but I beg of you both, don't announce it on the media. I don't mind if you announce it to your friends and business partners, but please not on the m-media". ( taking her seat again, her breathing came shaky )

Shock that their daughter in law burst out like that, what's even more shocking that she had begged them both not to announce it in the media. They wonder what got her like that.

“An li dear, why can't we announce it in the media. Can you tell us why we can't".

“I-I am sorry, I can't tell you and dad about it nor can I tell your son about this too".

“It's ok! you can tell us we won't tell anyone else". ( His mother is trying to have An li tell them why. But looking at her daughter in law's face she knows that she won't tell them )

“I-i just can't". ( It's best if they don't know about it )

Nodding her head understanding that even if she can or she can't she still wouldn't say it.

“Well then since we are done, next is dessert and wine".

“S-sure".

Calling for their cooks to take the food away and bring out dessert and wine.

( time skip )

“Mom and dad I think it's time for us to leave".

“But I still need to talk to An li about wedding dresses and the reception".

“Ugh, you can talk to her tomorrow, we'll come by for a while".

“Ok! I guess it is kind of late".

( his father ) “See you son, take care of yourself and your wife".

“I will, father".

( his parents ) “Bye An li I had a great time, take care of yourself"

“I will mom and dad, you guys take care of yourself too".

Giving them both a hug. And telling them that she had a wonderful dinner with them. Hoping she gets to have dinner with them again with their other children. Waving goodbye to them.
